Data outage, but fair resolution and good support
In September 2025 they had a major server failure, and my account history and saved audio files were lost. That was a real problem, because part of the work had to be recreated from scratch.
On the positive side, the support team handled my case in a straightforward and fair way: they restored my credit balance based on my purchase confirmation email, and then added extra credits so I could rebuild the lost project and re-test voices/settings (without the history it’s impossible to recreate everything 1:1).
I’m not sugarcoating the incident — it was serious. But the way they resolved it afterward and the support I received were fair and helpful.

Meerdere pogingen tot contact zonder oplossing
Ik heb diverse keren contact gezocht met Speechgen over een duidelijk verschil in de TTS-uitspraak van onze projecten vergeleken met eerdere output. Ik heb hun vragen volledig beantwoord, de gevraagde project-ID’s aangeleverd en zelfs aangeboden mijn inloggegevens te delen om gezamenlijk naar een oplossing te zoeken.
Tot op heden heb ik geen enkele reactie ontvangen op mijn e-mails van 26 januari, 5 februari en 6 februari. Hierdoor blijft het probleem onbehandeld, terwijl wij afhankelijk zijn van deze service voor ons product en de continuïteit van ons werk ernstig wordt belemmerd.
Het is bijzonder frustrerend dat, ondanks onze medewerking en duidelijke voorbeelden van het probleem, er geen enkele terugkoppeling volgt. Ik hoop nog steeds dat Speechgen dit probleem serieus neemt, contact met ons opneemt en samen met ons naar een oplossing kijkt.

Voice quality changed and no response from support
We have used SpeechGen with satisfaction in the past and successfully produced multiple audio clips in 2024–2025 using a fixed voice and identical settings.
Since the beginning of 2026, the quality of this same voice has noticeably changed. Despite using exactly the same voice specifications, the generated audio sounds clearly different and of lower quality than before.
We have contacted SpeechGen multiple times by email regarding this issue, including concrete examples and audio comparisons, but to date we have received no response at all. Earlier emails regarding account and quality-related questions have also remained unanswered.
We find the complete lack of support disappointing, especially considering this is a paid service that we use for business purposes. Transparency regarding changes in voices or technology, as well as accessible customer support, are essential to us.
We sincerely hope that SpeechGen will still contact us to explain and resolve this issue.
Novasports.nl remains open to a constructive solution, but as long as there is no response, we cannot consider this service to be reliable.

I'm really sorry for the delayed response to your emails. For some reason, your messages were caught by our spam filter, which is why they went unanswered. I've addressed this today and responded to your previous emails as well.
Regarding the voice quality issue you mentioned – I want to assure you that nothing has changed on our end with the voices or the underlying technology. The voice models and settings remain exactly the same as they were in 2024-2025.
Since you're experiencing different audio quality with the same settings, I'd recommend trying to increase the bitrate of your output file. This can significantly improve the final audio quality and might resolve the difference you're hearing.
If adjusting the bitrate doesn't help, please send me:

A sample of the text you're generating
I'll personally test it and compare to make sure everything is working as expected.

I am having a technical issue and I have emailed them three times and I have not gotten a response. I am editing my review. It did take a while for them to resopnd, but I did not consider it was doing the holidays.

A TOP TIER TTS APP TO COMPLEMENT YOUR VIDEO PRODUCTION
In my experience there are two components to an app. First is the quality of the app itself and second is the quality of support from the app developer. I have tried several TTS apps and have been disillusioned by the complexity and in many cases the pricing. Speechgen is an extremely easy to use app and its pay as you go feature is an outstanding feature. More recently they experienced a technical glitch beyond their control. What has set them apart is their response to a situation and their recovery strategy. It is not very often that you get such a quick response and above all an elegant solution. As a user of Da Vinci Resolve I find that Speechgen is an excellent choice for my TTS

I use this for short voiceovers in TikTok videos. It’s easy to generate and download audio. The voices are clear, and there are many choices. Some voices sound more natural than others, but overall, it’s a helpful tool for quick content creation.

This site is pretty cool! I use it to listen to my essays before submitting them, and it really helps me catch mistakes. The voices sound better than other TTS I tried, and the site is easy to use. I work with long e-learning scripts, so the ability to generate audio for millions of characters in one go is a game-changer. Before, I had to split everything into chunks, which was a huge headache. Now, it’s just one smooth process, and the audio quality is consistently solid. I don’t think I could go back to how I was doing it before.

Great voices and ease of use.
I've been using it for a few months now, including via API, and it's been working very well. I like the voices, and especially the option of being able to create dialogues with multiple voices.
