Very engaging session, lots of great tips

We had Tom and Connor from Speech Hub run two public speaking workshops for the team at hyperexponential last week, and the feedback from everyone involved was incredibly positive.

The sessions were highly interactive and practical, with small group sizes that made it easy for everyone to get involved. They covered everything from managing nerves and preparing effectively, through to tone, intonation and how to land a message clearly whether you’re presenting live, to customers, or internally.

What really stood out was how engaged the sessions were. Tom and Connor balanced giving individuals tailored feedback while still keeping the whole room involved, and even within the two-hour sessions you could see a noticeable improvement in people’s confidence and delivery.

We ran this as part of our L&D investment across the business, supporting both customer-facing roles and colleagues presenting internally at company assemblies, and it was a great use of time.

I’d highly recommend Speech Hub to any organisation looking to build confidence and improve the quality of communication and public speaking across their teams.

Two short sessions have made a noticeable impact to how I think about communicating. Strongly recommended for anyone interested in learning more about how they come across and what they can do to ensure their messages land in a more impactful manner.

I had a wonderful experience working with Tom as my speech therapist. He demonstrated exceptional skill in helping me reduce my Italian accent by focusing on key vowel sounds that make the biggest difference in English pronunciation. Even during video calls, Tom could expertly observe my mouth movements and provide precise corrections to help me achieve the correct sounds.

His targeted exercises were both practical and engaging, making it easier to practice and internalise the proper pronunciation. What I particularly appreciated was his modern approach - he even guided me on how to effectively use AI tools like Claude to explore English's many irregular pronunciation patterns and spelling inconsistencies.

Tom's expertise helped me understand not just how to pronounce sounds correctly, but also how to continue learning independently. I feel much more confident in my English pronunciation and have the tools to keep improving.

Highly recommend Tom for anyone looking to refine their English pronunciation with a knowledgeable, supportive, and innovative speech therapist!

I've learned many things from Connor. Still a long way of practicing, but I know the direction and my weaknesses.

Working with Tom has been a total game-changer for me. My confidence in public speaking has gone from zero to who is this person?! in the best way possible. He’s got this relaxed, friendly vibe that immediately puts you at ease, but don’t be fooled—he knows exactly how to push you (gently!) to bring out your best.

We’ve worked on tone, emphasis, body language, all the good stuff and the difference is honestly night and day. I actually (almost!) look forward to speaking now, which is madness.

Connor is a great tutor and is very well versed in both the practical and theory of speech.

Working with Tom has been great. I always struggled with my ability to emphasise words and the tone with which I speak, making things come across not that impactful.

Connor (my coach) is very adaptive when structuring our sessions: he tailors them based on my up-to-date performance, and sometimes he changes tack during a session if he feels a different teaching style might benefit me to understand a particular point. This has been hugely helpful for me.

Moreover, he provides detailed and accurate feedback, and this has helped me to improve quickly over a relatively short space of time.

I had a week to prepare a presentation for a competition, and Connor helped me structure it all cohesively, including adding an attention-grabbing hook to the beginning, which worked really well on the day!
I was so nervous but Connor taught me breathing and visualisation techniques to manage my nerves, and they allowed me give my presentation confidently and calmly, which I hadn’t thought was possible.
I found the session incredibly useful and couldn’t have done it without it! Thank you so much!!

I have been working with Connor for several months now, the sessions are enjoyable and structured, and feel tailored to the areas we need to work on.

With Connor our main focus is elocution and a softening of my accent. This is where the passion for the topic and detailed feedback I receive make the lessons both rewarding and engaging.

There are exercises from the warm ups I use daily both before and during the working day, they act as a useful gauge to see where I am with my speech that day and give me confidence ahead of meetings and presentations.

Going forward I am excited about working with Connor and I can highly recommend his sessions.
