I've been using the pkgundef hack for years, and while it works...it's always left a lot to be desired. Context menus in particular would be difficult to read.

SQL Shades provides a dark mode that's actually a comprehensive Dark Mode as it should be. It works perfectly, seamlessly...doesn't slow anything down and does exactly what it says on the tin.

Fantastic little addon that immediately feels like a natural part of SSMS.

Love it! I spent a while using SSMS with a half-baked dark theme after "hacking" one of the config files to enable the dark theme in the options. But it was definitely not what it should have been. SQL Shades saved the day (and every day thereafter) with it's beautiful and comprehensive dark mode. I cannot work without it!

Shades Dark theme is a fundamental piece for SSMS that MS is neglecting.

This is a great piece of SSMS software and everyday my eyes thank me for downloading and installing it. I spend hours a day in SSMS, and being able to use a dark theme in every window is a amazing.

I highly recommend SQL Shades. It's a simple thing: provide a DARK THEME for SSMS, which it does very well.

SQL Shades is the best "really the only true" solution for using Dark Mode in Microsoft SSMS. I've been developing professionally with SSMS for over 11+ years. I've had to use "hacks" to get a broken dark mode. This is the fix I've been waiting on Microsoft to give us for a long time.

Delivers a superb dark mode experience to SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Makes working with SQL way more pleasant-- the palette is definitely well thought of. Microsoft couldn't do this better, if they wanted to introduce a dark mode.

Just what SSMS needed, I love the pro version of SQL shades, it has a true dark mode [Pitch Black], also [Cyberpunk] is pretty good as well. Great software and excellent value.

I really like a lot SQL Shades themes, particularly the "Pitch Black" theme. I'm over fifty-years old and it's easy on the eyes. Also, I like the "granular" level of customization the tool provides if for some reason you're not happy with the default ones. So I would really recommend this tool for any one who uses SQL Server on a daily basis. You won't regret it.

I've wanted to switch over to SSMS for years, but I find the UI and the light mode so UGLY and triggering for migraines that I could never do it. As someone who spends hours a day writing and executing SQL, I just couldn't do it. Then recently my boss showed me SQL Shades.... LIFE CHANGER! It's so beautiful and customizable and modern. No more 1994 SSMS for me. Thank you so much SQL Shades, you're inspiring.

A must-have add-on for MS SQL. It makes themes as easy as pie!

This tool provides a sorely missing feature set for SSMS. Until I found this tool, getting a nice dark theme was next to impossible without having to hack SSMS and still getting a sub-par result. With SQL Shades, it was magic and a real game-changer for someone who spends a lot of time working in SSMS.

The tool installed easily and just plain works. For the price, you can't beat it and I would highly recommend.

Dark mode in everything apart from SSMS.

Thank goodness for SQL Shades fixing this problem and helping my weary eyes when I'm doing SQL's all day long.

I thought that it was going to give me a little list of themes to use, but apart from the ones it lists it gives you access to tweak every aspect of the SSMS client. I love the pitch black theme from the premium version
