Ordered a chessboard from this company and paid $369.00 for not only the chessboard, but for a chessboard sleeve. I've received the chessboard, but not the sleeve. I've been sending messages to customer service (because there's no customer phone number), and have not received a single response back to any of my inquiries. I would not recommend buying ANYTHING from this company as they are not likely to answer any questions if you have problems with your order. If anyone is reading this my order #230530769. Still waiting for my chessboard sleeve. Will likely never get it.

I ordered two boards through a Square Off crowdfunding campaign several years ago, and after many delays and terrible communication to backers, the boards were finally delivered two months ago—but neither one will pair with the phone app. We tried multiple phones. Square Off's customer support was very slow to respond and over the course of several weeks of sporadic communication ultimately decided that replacement boards are needed—but after three weeks, they still haven't sent the promised return shipping labels (they won't send new boards until they receive the defective ones back) and are not responding.

I'm delighted !The company is trustworthy, they are honest. In my chessboard, the "d6" field was faulty. After a short correspondence, I received a new set without any problems. I can recommend them with all responsibility. SquareOff - please accept my thanks. I am waiting for your further products. Regards with all my heart.

I was about to throw in the towel when my swap board arrived after years of wait and was not responding at all after following the instructions. Surprisingly after another 5 days of wait, I was finally able to get tech support and Dhiraj was able to quickly diagnose the problem and offered a solution via video conference which has worked so far since a few hours. The company should continue to invest in QC and tech team to make sure that the product sent out meet the industry standards and that the product is well supported by the tech team in after sales.

I was having issues with my square off pro board for a couple of weeks. I sent numerous emails explaining the situation and they always responded in a timely manner. They determined the board was faulty and even though the return timeline had lapse, they sent a brand new set to me free of charge! The new set works flawlessly! In my eyes, they truly are a company that cares about their customers and cannot say enough good things about them! Their program is top notch and I have had no issues playing online like others have had. Thank you Square Off, I am a fan for life. Keep up the good work and improving.

I got my Swap from my Kickstarter pledge last week after almost 3.5 years of long wait. I really have to appraise Square Off deeply for pulling it off through the Covid-19 pandemic with the increase in raw material price up to 9x and transport fee at least 2-3x. It is not perfect. There are some glitches, but overall it is a functional automated chess board. Although the online chat was not too helpful, the support team did respond in a timely fashion to address my questions and to solve my issues in emails. Despite being plastic, the quality is good. So far, I have been enjoying it especially with these automated features. For the Kickstarter price I paid, I feel that it is well worth my money. I am very confident that the company will continue to improve their software to make the games better.

They continually make delivery promises and then fail to keep them. They keep advertising products and taking orders, meanwhile thousands are still awaiting the products they already paid for. If/ when your order finally arrives the quality you receive is a lottery and they are terrible at replacing bad product.

Absolutely horrendous! I bought a board over two months ago. It doesn't work, the battery arrived faulty. I have talked to their so called 'customer service' online about 5 times. Every time they say 'this is being escalated, we will contact you ASAP'. I wait another 2 weeks and nothing!

It is literally a scam. I paid €300 and was sent a board that doesn't work and now I'm being ghosted. AVOID at all costs.

Great board, love the connection with the app, love the sounds. Also, I had some missing pieces when my board showed up and customer service sent me an entire new set without question. Really great support!

The product itself is not bad but the app is absolutely terrible. Since it arrived I have played around 25 online games on both chess.com and lichess, and I lost 10 of them due to "abandonment", while according to the app it was my opponent's turn to play until the timer went below 0 (?!), and it is very frustrating to lose so many ELO points when you are about to win, and also waiting 15 minutes for a game to finish (when you already abandoned but you didn't know). I have now bought another smart e-board from a competitor for the same price and there's just no comparison! There's no weird integration with the board app, but it allows you to play directly on chess.com and lichess, which changes the experience completely as you are also allowed to play tournaments, friends, etc. The SquareOff app instead only lets you play a simple game, and they must be aware of the glitches since they don't allow you playing games of less than 5 minutes. Would not recommend to anyone.

They are scamsters. 0 post sales support and 0 return assistance. Disgusted to core. Sent them multiple emails, no response.

Regner ikke med at jeg får noe brett og at pengene er tapt.

Square Off Chessboards: Things to remember when ordering. Unless you are buying the Grand Kingdom (available), - the new generation boards (Swap and Neo) are on a first-come, crowd funded basis:
1) If you are buying a new generation board (Neo and Swap -it is being made for you, so be patient.
2) Once you eventually get your board (it will come), it is truly worth it.
3) I was initially frustrated that I got the runaround, BEFORE I RECIEVED my board. I can assure you that the boards are being made and this company has every intention of supporting and delivering an excellent product. The SWAP board truly works great - and their app, works really well with the board. There are very minor improvements, and tweaking that likely solved with future firmware updates that are to be expected. You can however play immediately and have an incredible and enjoyable experience.
4) My honest opinion, is that the board I ordered - exceeded my expectations when it was finally delivered. Please be patient, if you were frustrated by the delay in delivering. This was not vaporware, it is real and I was not disappointed.

I agree with everyone else on here! Horrible customer service!! I emailed them an issue 7 days ago, chatted with them 3 times and still no help! I don't trust the chessboard now if the customer service is THIS BAD! Awful company!!

They have the worst customer service, I have been emailing, chatting with any customer service representative that will reply about my board I order Sept 2021 that I never received. I was promised the end of May, still no tracking number, so I send an email asking for a status update, they reply with a new delivery date.

I was so excited for my husband to finally receive the Neo board after years of waiting. After working for roughly two games it stopped connecting to the app. Customer support is slow at responding and has not offered a solution. It has now been over two weeks and no reply, even after multiple emails. I have asked to return the defective board and been ghosted. DON'T BUY ONE!!
