Nice property but everything else is bad
TL;DR
Nice property but massive privacy concerns and petty rules
Reserving the property:
There were no house rules posted anywhere and i had to pay the full amount for 5 months in 1 go without possibility of refund, due to the lack of other properties i went for it and hoped it would be fine but this is obviously not a professional way for a property to be advertised.
Moving in:
Moving in went smoothly, we went through the contract and the house rules. The house rules are pretty reasonable except for the cleaners coming at any day at any time with no prior warning but you're not allowed to stay in the living room when they come, so if you are doing any kind of work in the living room and have some stuff set up, be prepared to have to clean it all up and continue in your room at any moment in the day, let alone if you are cooking something in the kitchen. The worst rule was probably not being able to bring any friend inside of the property without sending a scan of their passport and contact details to the property owner... i'm surprised they didnt ask for credit card details while we are ahead.
The property itself:
A nice clean property, great chair, there is a minifridge in every room and there is sufficient space for clothing and books or any other thing you would like to store,overall there is no problem with the room although half of the wall being covered in superman comic posters did not exactly help with calming my mind down in there.
The living room is also "furnished"... notice how i used quotation marks? Thats because there is a table 5 chairs, a tv and trashbins... it is the fanciest interrogation room that i have ever been in
Another highly luxurious item in the public collection is a broken iron (without ironing table ofcourse), it leaks water every 20 seconds which makes for a fun little minigame of "trying to iron my clothes without making them wet so i have to dry them again". according to the house rules you are not allowed to replace it unless you also throw away the iron after you are done living there so yeah...
The kitchen is very basic with only 1 electric stove (even if you wanted to buy a 2nd one there is no pace for it), a rice cooker, a microwave, some place to store bowls, cutlery and your own spices, and 2 watercookers... there is nothing complete in this house but luckily they have 2 water cookers, i was so happy with that.
*an important thing to note is that there will be no single instance where the entire sink is empty, this is because the others do not clean up their stuff and for some reason this is the one thing the property owners do not stick their nose in.
I have not sent them many emails but one time i did i got a reply back 3 weeks later with my name having a typo (they must have been in such a hurry to reply back as soon as possible). While writing this there is another email sent with no reply yet...
After living there for about 3 weeks i noticed a really cool think in the kitchen, it's a surveillance camera. There is a camera in the property (fun fact: there is a 2nd one on the inside of the residence).
NOWHERE ON THE SITE, NOWHERE IN THE CONTRACT, nothing has told me there was a camera inside the property, it took me a couple weeks to notice and one of my house mates told me he never noticed until i told him.
Now you might say "on the website you can look at the pictures of the property" to which i reply, yes you can BUT THE PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE AND THE VIDEO WHERE THEY WALK THROUGH THE PROPERTY ONLINE DO NOT HAVE THE CAMERA'S IN, its not even that they dont show the places where the camera's are, the camera's are just not attached to the wall in the pictures on the site or the youtube video showing off the property. This was nice to know before paying for the property and illegal according to japanese law
