Dear Helen and everyone at Stride On,
Thank you very much for all of your help, advice and support throughout my post operative period. During the 6 weeks of instructed non weight bearing, I would not have managed without the Stride On. No way could I have hopped to and from the toilet for that length of time!!!
Thank you very much for extending my rental agreement. The whole process has been completely easy and without any hitches.
I highly recommend Stride On.

I had flat foot reconstruction surgery May 2021, I purchased a scooter and sold it thinking I wouldn’t need it again. How wrong was I, had same surgery but different ankle 7 weeks ago and was non-weightbearing for 5 weeks post-op. The scooter was a life saver and I’ve barely had to use the crutches. I extended the rental period, this was done via email and was sorted within couple of minutes. The scooter is due to be returned tomorrow and is all packed and labelled. Best invention ever and I cannot fault StrideOn as a company.

The customer service for the knee scooter was excellent from the first telephone call. And comprehensive instructions were included in the package.
I hired the knee scooter on behalf of my friend who had fractured her ankle and was non weight bearing for six weeks.
The difference it made to her mobility was wonderful.
From hopping with a zimmer, a slow and painful process for a 70+ lady, she quickly learned how to manoeuvre around her apartment without pain or too much effort.
She said “It was a Godsend. I don’t know if I could have managed without it”.
Delivery on March 26th and collection on April 23rd went very smoothly and extending the monthly rental was easy.
Can’t recommend the knee scooter and StrideOn enough.

I broke my heel 6 weeks ago and found crutches so unstable I’m a bit speedy so getting the stride on was a game changer. I had to stay off my foot for 5weeks and was able to look after myself and cook while using the scooter. Even at the hospital everyone was amazed how I got along so easily. Even my grandchildren thought I was cool. Thank you again such a life saving machine

As I'm waiting for ankle op, I've been struggling just moving about indoors. I tried crutches and a wheelchair, but found both very difficult to use. A physio showed me the StrideOn knee scooter, and it was a total game changer.
My operation is in a weeks time, and I'll be in plaster and non weightbearing for 6 weeks, and I now know I'll be able to cope.

After my right ankle fusion I was not able to use a Zimmer frame or crutches because my left knee (awaiting replacement) was not able to support me.

Introducing StrideOn knee stroller! I was able to use one that Bournemouth Hospital had in its Physiotherapy department. After standing and adjusting it to my requirements I was off. I needed to get my balance for the first few moments, but then there was no stopping me.

The Knee Stroller literally liberated me. The nurses, physio and other patients used to see me getting about and as soon as I booked my own rental the hospital were willing to discharge me.

The impact to my knee was minimal as the smooth wheel action was excellent. I practically had a 360 degree turning circle from a stationary position and on my hard wood floors at home proved to be a God send. I was able to use the scooter one handed which made carrying around drinks possible, which crutches would not have been. The brakes made stopping very easy and when in the parked position (permanently on) gave me the stability to do most standing chores plausible.

The basket on the front looks a bit unmanly (apologies ladies!) but was essential and proved to be a must have, carrying my keys, pen and paper, a cloth and mobile. It removed easily, but need to point out that I had to apply a soft covering around the edge to protect surfaces from marking.

I was even able to get about visiting friends and family as the handle folds down and pops into the boot of most cars. Making the trips to shopping centres real fun due to the smooth floors. Numerous people asked about the scooter and wished that they had one when they had various lower limb issues and I wasn't shy in letting everyone know that StrideOn made it possible to get out and about.

Finally, trips to the Bournemouth sea front were possible travelling up and down the beach promenade which would not have been possible on crutches and without the need for more expensive mobility options.

The rental was well worth it, giving me the independence I needed to recuperate in a much quicker time in my opinion.

Having needed a Strideon 8 years ago when recovering from a ankle operation and finding it invaluable, having just had another ankle operation I needed to use a Strideon again. The service again was excellent and the quality of the product is top rate. My recovery has been enhanced by the use of the Strideon and I am now well ahead of the normal recovery period due to it. It is a great product provided by a very professional and helpful group of employees. Can't speak more highly of them and their product.

Recommended by NHS after my ankle op I hired orthomate stride on for 4 weeks. It didn't turn very well inside in my tight kitchen so chose your indoor or outdoor scooter. I loved it and many people in community asked me about it. When struggling i had a little sit rest and sit down. It enabled me to save energy N my achy shoulders, transport my guinea pigs/bottles of water in provided basket but most of all once outside I could rest knee on it N move other foot from inside house to outside over the step or to hop into vehicle. I Will miss it but will use again when required during my recovery. Easy delivery and postage back many thanks

The knee walker certainly is a better option than crutches which I found exhausting; each step seemed to require as much body strength as a press up. Crutches may be fine for 20-year-old body builders but at 76, I did not have the energy and body strength they required of me. In came the knee walker to my rescue. It is a hybrid of a kid's tricycle (but four-wheeled) and a scooter. It impressed fellow patients in the waiting area of the fracture clinic at hospital who watched me with obvious admiration and envy of my relatively superior mobility. I should be asking Stride On for commission after the number of people I have recommended the company to :)
The knee walker is not perfect. I think it could be improved even further by the following:-
1. design it to make even sharper turns, like a London black cab, to enable turning more easily in the confined spaces of the average home where furniture can get in the way of the turn. With practice you'll learn the art of making several-point turns, but turning can still be a slow business.
2. I wish it had a brake that could be left on without having to use one hand to squeeze it on all the time. That would make the knee walker much stabler when mounting and dismounting it. It would also leave both hands free to allow you to hold fast to steady pieces of furniture/ work surfaces or whatever, when mounting or dismounting. But you learn to cope with practice.
3. A little bicycle bell on the handle bar would be a fun addition to warn the mobile phone addicts about to have a head-on collision with you to take their eyes off the screen and watch where they're going. They don't expect to encounter adults on bikes in corridors.

Tip of the day: reverse into lifts. That way you don't have to try to turn around in the confined space of the lift in order to get out of it.

The service from Stride On has been outstanding. The knee walker was delivered the day after I ordered it online. The delivery man was very helpful, his company has also received a good review from me.

I have had to extend the hire period twice. Each time
that brought me into contact with Helen Jones who works for Stride On. She has been super-efficient and an absolute delight to talk to. As part of her training, she had to try moving around on both crutches and the knee walker, so she realises what we go through and understands our mobility difficulties and why we'd much rather use the knee walker than those wobbly, exhausting crutches.

I am extremely disappointed by lack of service, support, accountability and serious approach that this medical equipment requires.

I ordered on 31 st of July a Strideon for 4 weeks, explaining I am with a broken ankle, alone at home, already fell many times and I needed the strideon to be delivered asap, the 1 st of Aug.

The Strideon did not arrive on the 1st, nor the 2nd... I called the lady who took the order, she most arrogantly said she called UPS, she can't do anything more to speed up and If I wanted she can give me the tracking number!

After a dispute with her refusing to take responsibility and help, I chased UPS, only to realise she didn't really call and open a case.

I also found out that she despite me explaining very carefully how my name is spelled and my address, she made mistake, twice, giving UPS wrong flat number as well spelling wrongly my name e mail, so I never received any order confirmation either.

It's amazing how the costumer service think they have no responsibility for the delivery on time.

I am updating this comment today 18th of Aug 2023, I still haven't received the refund.

The company is again hiding behind 3rd party company Opayo... who needs at least 10 working days, maybe longer to make the refund.

The person from customer service is so arrogant and with zero accountability.

All the positive comments here are for the product, not the company... if I were you I would just rent it elsewhere!

6 weeks immobile, the arrogance ruined my birthday and made me dependent of 24/7 support. I so regret not ordering elsewhere.

Dealing with StrideOn was first class great service that’s why I like to deal with independents.
Would recommend a knee scooter from them if you have a leg in plaster up to your knee.

Recommended by physio team as I had ankle in non-weight bearing cast and had to keep it elevated. I was able to get round my house easily and was able to get out. It was a game changer for me as I was rubbish on crutches! It made my life for 6 weeks so much easier. It’s a brilliant piece of equipment. Great customer service from Stride-on, delivery quick and efficient and return a simple process. I highly recommend.

I hired a Strideon knee walker after having foot surgery. It was invaluable while I was in a cast and enabled me to get around much easier. The company were easy to deal with, delivery and collection were excellent and no problem extending my hire period. Would highly recommend

I ordered this to help keep my broken ankle from weight bearing, initially to use around the house and it did help up to a point, but the best use was shopping in the supermarket with my husband meaning I could get around and pick the things I needed without looking like a temporarily disabled person to one who was able to be virtually normal. It was rather funky using the Ride On and it created a lot of interest from other people. I loved it.

On May 24th I hired kneewalker (after a fall resulting in an unstable Fibula fracture) The Kneewalker was to be delivered on the 26th. It wasn‘t. There has been NO communication since the 26th. I have emailed twice and my phone calls go to Answer Phone. Isthmi’s company a cruel scam?

The total package is so easy, from the first phone call to the return of the StrideOn could not have been easier. I can highly recommend their service.

I'm so pleased with the service I received. I hired one of the knee scooters after surgery and it has been a game changer. It was cheaper for me to hire one then buy one so saved me a few quid in the process. Alongside potentially having to keep it longer the company were great about it as I didn't know till the day before. Hoping to never have to use these again but if I do I will definitely be using stride on again :)

Broke my ankle in January and needed two fixation surgeries (first one failed) and consequently was non weight bearing for 10 weeks. As I’ve got arthritis in my ‘good’ leg, crutches were a nightmare but this scooter really did help me get around/do household chores. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has a lower limb (below the knee) injury

Absolutely fantastic product. Hired this for my mother whilst she was recovering from surgery and was non-weight bearing. She has severe arthritis in most of her joints, so finds it nearly impossible to use crutches or a frame, but used this with ease. It’s easily manoeuvrable around the house, so could be used to help her move from room to room with minimal assistance. It also comes with a basket so she was able to move small objects around with her. Overall, it was an absolute god send and made my mothers recovery so much more manageable.
Ordering was easy and it was with us the next day. We initially hired it for four weeks, but extended our hire for a total of ten weeks. Extending was really easy, all it needed was a quick email. All our interactions with the StrideOn team have been excellent. I can’t rate the product or the company highly enough. A huge thank you to the entire team!
