Quick and great support. I had a specific technical question on how to add a surcharge on a custom field in one of my products. Robert and his team solved the problem within 1 day and helped me lot to get my custom question resolved.

The plugin itself is very easy to use and I like that I can add it to each product separatly, import and export the functions.

I just need to get the grip on the design ... because I don't see the settings right there.

I came across Studio Wombat by chance when a client’s products and print variations resulted in more than 5,000 variations—which, of course, no shop can really handle manually.

I took a closer look at the plugin and its many included features, and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for for years—everything from a single provider. It runs flawlessly from the very first second, with extremely fast loading times. I now only create simple products instead of variable ones.

I do have one or two feature requests, which I’ve already shared with support—but even without them, this is a solid 6 out of 5 stars. For years, I worked with what’s supposedly the market leader—terrible support, incredibly complicated to use, and not enjoyable for customers in the frontend either. And now this.

I’m confident that restructuring all my products will be relatively straightforward. I just need to invest some time into setting up the layers—but hey, I genuinely believe I’ve now found the best system available!

Thanks to Wombat—and no, this is not a paid review. I’m simply really, really happy that things have turned out so positively after my previous bad experience.

I’m using Advanced Product Fields (Product Options) for WooCommerce, combined with the Layered Images Add-on and the Live Content Preview Add-on—an ideal setup for merch sellers, in my opinion.

The plugin is truly comprehensive. It has many features that complement WooCommerce. Once you learn how to configure it, it's quite easy. It's very well structured.

I had a very specific issue with Live Content Preview where the generated PNG image did not match the preview on the product page. The text was rendered in a different position, and it took me quite some time to understand where the problem was coming from. It turned out that the issue was related to a conflict with the Shoptimizer theme, which made the problem more difficult to identify.

The support team was absolutely amazing. Robert quickly identified the root cause and helped resolve the issue efficiently. It turned out to be related to custom font configuration, and once properly set up, everything worked perfectly.

I really appreciate the level of expertise and the clear, practical support I received. This saved me a lot of time and frustration.

It's not the most intuitive. I used the formula function and put in the formula needed with the assumption it would work with the quantity function that is part of woocommerce but actually instead of multiplying the amount that my formula provided with the number of products the user chose, it divided so it made my products cheaper. I lost quite a bit of money for a while. I had to ask their support why and you have to add the quantity in the formula which doesn't make sense. I also followed whatever tutorials were provided by them but never saw this.

I would recommend this plugin to everyone. The support you get from Wombat is also of a very high standard. Even if there is a compatibility issue between the plugin and the theme, they are more than willing to discuss it with the theme’s developers. 5 stars from kinderbestekje.com.

Fast support and the plugin does what it says it does.

This plugin is AMAZING. Our website manages 18 different dining locations with changing hours, seasonal hours, holiday shutdowns etc. The plugin handles it perfectly. Every time I have a question , the support team responds fast and helps me. They have AMAZING customer support!!

Ich habe mir das Plugin geholt, in der Hoffnung hiermit was anfangen zu können. Die UI ist unübersichtlich und das Produkt letztendlich unbrauchbar für meinen Anwendungsfall - was sich erst nach dem Kauf herausgestellt hat. Es wird mit 14 Tage Geld-Zurück-Garantie geworben. Ich habe noch am nächsten Tag gesagt, dass ich mein Geld zurück möchte und das Plugin nicht nutze. Studio Wombat sagt aber, dass ich das Geld nicht zurück erhalte, weil sie im Einzelfall entscheiden. Was soll das für ein Einzelfall sein? Ich hatte das Plugin keine 24h aktiv, weil es unbrauchbar ist und erhalte mein Geld nicht zurück. Das ist unverschämt und definitiv nicht das, womit sie auf ihrer Seite werben! Hier unbedingt aufpassen.

I’m really disappointed with my experience. I requested a refund within the advertised 14-day period, but after some initial messages the support stopped responding entirely. For a product that publicly promotes a refund policy, I expected fairness and basic communication, neither happened.

On top of that, the documentation is confusing and incomplete. The plugin couldn’t handle the functionality that was implied by the website, and after hours of trying to make it work, the result was that I simply couldn’t use it for my use case.

In the end, I’m left with a plugin that doesn’t deliver on expectations, no support willing to help or follow through, and no refund — despite being within the advertised timeframe. Very disappointing experience.
