Superb support for 8hr+ delay

I fly twice a year Manchester to Izmir and usually with Sun Express. Never had any problems, although online check-in usually fails until I remember I have to include my middle name! On 25 March 2026, I got to Izmir airport to find our flight was delayed by 8hrs+ (I had been sent an advisory email but hadn't seen it before heading for the airport). At the check-in desk, I was told I was being provided with a room and food and taken to the TAV Airport Otel (as were all the passengers). I was given a small but well appointed en suite single room with a large bed. Breakfast was a buffet with a large choice of cold and hot foods. At 1pm we had to vacate the rooms and lunch was served. We all got a tray with soup, mash and kofte, rice, breads, salad and almond cakes with a selection of hot and cold drinks. Absolutely delighted with the support we received.

Awful...couldn't check in online...got to Manchester airport and explained I couldn't check in anx he said OK well waive the fee this time ut you must check in for when you come back or youl be charged 250tl.. Went through with my shoulder bag and hand luggage not a problem. Check in Still wouldn't work on payback but I thought ok...250tl I can cope with that. But...no...go to check in...you have to pay for anything more that 4kg now...so everyone in my flight paid an extra £60...i will not be using this company again

Sun Express flight change

I am trying to change a flight and pay the additional £43. The UK phone number just tells me to try again later as they are experiencing a large volume of calls. Apparently the cost to change goes up the nearer my flight departure so I am trying to do this in January for mid-May departure but they won’t answer my call. Please advise Sun Express if you are monitoring this review.

First time i have flown with this


First time i have flown with this company and will be the last. Flew from Antalya yesterday, got to departure gate was told to wait to side was told hand luggage was to big in loud and aggressive manner when I said i wasn't aware he then shouted you pay you pay now, l asked him to please stop shouting to which he replied,you not fly i get police, my wife came back and we said we were going to pay she gave him her credit card which he put into his machine followed by shouting pin number paid 80 pounds.i honestly thought i was in the film midnight express this company is a disgrace, I fly regularly with Ryan Air and yes people might not like them but I have never had any problems,
try flying with this lot and then tell me Ryan Air are bad

Sun express scandal

On my return trip from turkey I was stopped at the boarding gate by an extremely aggressive man who took my underseat bag and weighed it and refused to show me the scale but told me if I didn’t pay £80 my bag was going nowhere. He then called me stupid and told me to board the plane. He also refused to give his name to me. I phoned sun express and explained what had happened but they were not even slightly concerned. Never again will I fly with sun express.

Flug und Transfer zum Hotel und zurÃŒck - Organisation verbessern

Urlaubsreisen in die TÃŒrkei 27. Okt. 2025
hier: Lange Transferzeiten und Stau auf Autobahnen Antalya – Side – Alanya
Verbesserung der Infrastruktur und Organisation dringend nötig oder weniger GÀste in die TÌrkei schicken 6,5 Std. vor RÌckflug Abholung der GÀste vom Hotel geht nicht
Volle ÃŒberlastete Straßen, viele Ampeln Baustellen, Stau und zu lange Pause beim Transfer – das muss dringend geÀndert werden. Wir und viele Bekannte fliegen deshalb schon nicht mehr in die TÃŒrkei. Wir haben diese schlechten Erfahrungen in der Nachsaison am 27.10.25 gemacht. So was geht gar nicht: Abholung vom Hotel in Alanya 6,5 Std. vor Abflug. Im Oktober 2025 waren wir in Alanya in Urlaub. Bei Annex hat es so einigermaßen geklappt. Wir waren in einem Hotel mit 80 % russischen GÀsten. Die hatten jeden Tag einen Annex Reiseleiter. Wir haben keinen fÃŒr uns gesehen. Die Abholung von 6.5. Std. vor Abflug vom Hotel ist unzumutbar. Oft gibt es am Flughafen beim Abflug auch noch VerspÀtungen. Dann ist noch die lange Pause beim Transfer an einer RaststÀtte. Hier bekommen die TV Fahrer Provision und Geld. Der Aufenthalt ist viel zu lange. Dann ist kurz vor dem Flughafen auf der Autobahn meistens noch 45 Min. Stau, der auch eingeplant werden muss. Die Reisegesellschaften mÃŒssten auf die Organisation in der TÃŒrkei Einfluss nehmen, dass die Infrastruktur verbessert wird. die GÀste in Alanya können auch den Flughafen Gazsi nutzen um den Verkehr um Antalya zu entlasten. Von Alanya nach Gasziphasa sind es nur 42 km und es fÃŒhrt eine ganz neue Straße - ohne Kreuzungen - dort hin. Bei der Anreise haben wir ca. 45 Minuten im TV Bus gewartet, bis es los ging - einfach zu lange und schlechte Organisation. Es werden bis zu 3 ankommende Flugzeuge beim Transfer zusammengefasst und man muss oft 1 Std. oder lÀnger im Bus warten, bis es weiter geht. Beim Nachtflug wollten wir etwas schlafen oder ruhen - der Pilot hat uns aber stÀndig mit Durchsagen geweckt oder Essen angeboten. Deutsch wurde kaum gesprochen, obwohl fast nur Deutsche oder DEU-TÃŒrken im Flugzeug saßen. Da braucht keiner was in Englisch oder TÃŒrkisch zu erzÀhlen, wenn nur Deutsche im Flugzeug sitzen. Warum passt man die internationalen Gepflogenheiten nicht mal an die RealitÀt und FunktionalitÀt an.ht.

Sun Express totally unhelpful

Golf bag badly damaged in transit and Sun Express refused to help or give the details of who to escalate the problem to.
It is difficult to describe how completely unhelpful they have been, it’s incredibly disappointing. All they had to say was case closed .

Technical fault and terrible aftercare

The flight had to return to Turkey after a technical fault, this after being in the air for 1.5 hours. We had to disembark and were made to wait at a separate airport and purchase sandwiches for my children at €20.

We arrived home 6 hours after we were meant to and were given an inch of a small cup of apple juice for our troubles.

I raised a complaint and requested compensation as per aviation guidelines and got rejected twice. I have highlighted the legislation and threatened making a formal complaint.

We bought our holiday through TUI and will be making a complain to them as well. The whole experience was horrendous, only matched by the lack of empathy and understanding by the complaints team. Never again and if TUI sees this review, never use them again otherwise I won’t use you again.

zaterdag 20 september kwamen wij op Brussel aan terwijl er een cyberaanval aan de gang was, wij naar de gate daar uren gewacht, op den duur gevraagd aan die man die daar zat waarom het zo lang duurde toen werd er gezegd we hebben geen personeel om koffers in het vliegtuig te zetten. Na nog eens uren wachten konden we eindelijk vertrekken. Eenmaal aangekomen in Antalya kwamen we er dus achter dat heel het vliegtuig niet geladen was met koffers. heel onze vakantie was verpest. Je bent alleen maar bezig met bellen stressen regelen en een aantal nieuwe spullen aanschaffen omdat je dus helemaal niks hebt. Ik ben van plan om ergens te achterhalen waar ik heel de reis terug kan krijgen want dit is echt geen manier van doen, de donderdag daarna kwamen er twee koffers aan in plaats van vier en toen wij in Turkije waren, hebben we gehoord dat sommige mensen de keuze hadden gehad of je gaat vliegen en je weet van tevoren dat je vijf dagen je koffer niet hebt, wat ons dus is overkomen maar wij hebben de keuze niet gehad of je gaat je reis annuleren en je krijgt al je geld terug. Dit is wat wij graag willen gewoon ons geld terug.

Scam

Pre booked and paid for seats with extra leg room only to be told at check in they wasn’t going to honour my seats. I’ve emailed customer service for a refund and had NO REPLY!!!

Schlecht.

Sehr schlechter Service: GepÀckschaden fristgerecht gemeldet, Ersatzkoffer am 04.09. zugesagt, aber bis heute keine Lieferung. Statt klarer Kommunikation nur widersprÃŒchliche Angaben und Verzögerungen – absolut kundenunfreundlich.

Flying from Stansted to Antalya- through a TUI holiday

from the very start ! An absolutely shambles! I will never fly again with Sun Express & this is why.

No organisation at the departing airport (maybe that’s the airports fault)
Changed the queues twice, causing absolute chaos

Boarded ok, but plane was stifling hot, no air - we sat for 15 minutes on the tarmac, there was an announcement from the pilot, but you couldn’t hear it! We asked the stewardess what was going on, she said all aircraft was grounded for half an hour, due to weather conditions, we saw Ryanair & others taking off!

We then sat for 1 hour and 40 minutes on the tarmac, with no air, the stewardess served drinks ( at a charge) water was charged as well, no communication from the pilot! What they told us was an absolute lie!

I will never fly with Sun Express again through TUI

Poor customer service

Booked with this airline as tour operator stated bags included. No problem flying out of UK. When flying out of Dalaman, check in desk said no bags included. Showed him paper documents stating bags included. Told me to ring sunexpress. No phone reception so paid £60. Trying to claim this back is difficult. No clear customer complaints page. Sunexpress phone operator directed me to defunct webpage. Also said it wasn't for bags it was for checkin (I'd done that online the day before - I have proof). I doubt I'll get this money back without spending hours chasing it.

Unkomplizierte Reise

Unkomplizierte Buchung Ìber den Reiseveranstalter TUI, Check-in hat online problemlos funktioniert, SitzplÀtze konnten einfach gebucht werden und die Abwicklung am Flughafen verlief auch reibungslos. Der Service an Bord ist relativ einfach gehalten. Man sollte nicht zu viel erwarten.
