Good service. Friendly and efficient.

Chris was really nice and helpful. He is easy to talk to and arranged everything for me.

I arranged a RICS level 2 survey through Surveyor Local and was really pleased with how it all went. The price was competitive, the report came back in under a week and everything was explained clearly. The surveyor even phoned me afterwards to go through a couple of questions I had, which was really helpful. Happy to recommend them.

The survey was dealt with quickly and provided a clear breakdown of the many issues the property had. With all the information provided I was able to avoid buying a flat that, while having been given a fresh coat of paint, had a number of serious underlying problems.

The surveyor assigned to me, Andie at Appleby Petfield Ltd, was great. The survey date was arranged quickly, and Andie was flexible when it had to be rearranged due to a mistake on the estate agent's end. They gave me regular updates and responded quickly to my questions by email. The report itself was clear and gave lots of useful information and recommendations.

My only negative is after the survey on Wednesday, I was told the report would be ready by Friday or Monday, and I ended up getting it the next Tuesday morning. 4 working days is fine for me as a turnaround time, but as I was told it would be sooner it created some problems in communication with the estate agent. I'd have preferred to be told it would take longer and then be pleasantly surprised.

From the initial contact from Joshua I felt he understood my requirements and provided me with confidence to go forward and book the survey. Joshua was informative very friendly and I'm confident with arrangements made.

Of the companies we contacted this one gave us the earliest date for completion of the Level2 House Survey we wanted. We had the report on the following day by email. It was clear and comprehensive giving us a good idea of what we would be dealing with should we continue with the buying process. Our Estate Agent was also impressed with the survey.

Communication needs to be improved, After booking, i emailed them with my specific requests (which I already discussed and agreed in call) but no one replied or passed on the specifics to the Surveyor. As a result, Surveyor didnt check for such items.

The survey was conducted promptly and thoroughly after the request was put through. In depth feedback and recommendations were given. The report did come back slightly later than expected but when chased, I received the report on the same day.

We’re so useful throughout the whole process, the surveyor called me to talk me through the survey, also put my mind at ease knowing that if the purchase was to fall through at any point that I was fully protected! would 100% recommend.

Where have they gone? Really proactive and persistent at sales stage, which I foolishly thought was a good sign. Instructed, paid and waited. The surveyor they told me they had instructed is not longer even at the company they told me they had booked. I eventually managed to get through to the surveyor’s operation manager and they have processed the job after digging out an email. There is no proper process in place. Meanwhile, no luck contacting Surveyor Local (their customer service email inbox is rejecting mail) and have been told it would have been £200 cheaper with another firm. My advice? Just pick one, check their reviews and go direct. Don’t bother with this third party.

From making my initial enquiry for an estimate online to speaking to Joshua to accept the estimate was smooth and informative. Joshua was polite, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, he explained the next process clearly and within a few hours, I had an email confirming that I had a date book for my survey within a week. I cannot ask for a better level of service.

Josh, so oriented, for me, no need to think about the surveyor, and the legal part of the process, I got it all in the package.

Mark McLauchlan has been my strong right arm throughout my house buying process. I am not quite there yet, but nearly (fingers crossed). I am on my second attempt to purchase a house - my first attempt was aborted due to structural issues with the house. I opted to insure my cash outlay for £150, and I'm glad I did. I had spent about £1300 (including the insurance) during my first attempt, and all of the money that I had paid was transferred to my second attempt. Every penny, except the £30 I paid direct to the solicitor for ID checks. So it saved me over £500 for the survey, over £600 for the initial solicitor's fees, and of course the £150 insurance rolled on and is still protecting my outlay in case this purchase also falls through. Amazing!
Honestly though, it's not just the money I've saved. Buying a house is a very stressful thing to have to do on your own, but using this company has made it feel like I have a team behind me. Fantastic service. What a difference it has made for me. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Ask for Mark McLauchlan, you wont regret it!

Mark is a great professional. He took his time to understand my enquiry and then recommended the best survey level for me. Based on the surveyor's report, we thankfully did not progress with the purchase. I have subsequently booked another survey for a 2nd property as I enjoyed the service I was offered the first time.

Surveyor Local helped me enormously when determining the best survey to go for. I'm buying my first property and they were so helpful in making sure I made the right decision with which survey to go for, whilst tailoring the survey to my exact needs. Very consultative. They are able to massive give me peace of mind that I'm getting value for money in my first house purchase. Excellent service! Highly recommend!
