I have just sold with S&G and they did a great job. Excellent marketing of my house. Reasonable rates, very friendly service, nothing seems to be too much trouble, Highly recommended!

I have recently signed my Tenancy Agreement for a lovely property in Hull which was presented by Symonds and Greenham. The experience from beginning to end was fantastic. The team reached out to me directly by phone call and email when there was a slight delay in getting keys to allow the viewing to commence, and were just as quick to let me know once this matter had been resolved. Any queries I have sent across have been responded to almost as fast as I could put the phone down and I could not be happier

I chose Symonds and Greenham purely because of their close proximity to my late mum's house, which we needed to sell as part of her estate. What a lovely surprise to be met with an amazing team who literally went above and beyond throughout the process. As I live in a different Country I relied heavily on their involvement and I wasn't disappointed. Megan my main contact answered emails immediately, picked up the phone to my every call (there were many), she chased conveyancers throughout the chain, supported us through frustrations and even arranged the meter readings when they were due. Megan was so lovely and kind while maintaining her professionalism. I cannot recommend them enough. Also a shout out to the rest of the team who did the viewings, took meter readings, turned down the heating after a cold spell and generally kept an eye on an empty property.

I had a great experience with Sophie and Katie from Symonds & Greenham. They were kind, organised, and very honest about the value of my property. I was greeted warmly over the phone and in person and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend them due to their excellent customer service!

I'd suggest anyone looking to use Symonds & Greenham as an estate agent take their chances elsewhere, if our two-year saga of selling our house with them is anything to go by.

S&G were always polite to deal with, but this is not the same as been competent or professional. I can only assume most positive reviews here came from covid when houses practically sold themselves and these skills were unnecessary.

I could detail here the long list of their failures to follow instructions, communicate or adhere to their own industry code of practice, but this will be for the later Ombudsman complaint rather than an online review.

Instead, I'll detail one incident that sums up our experience of the service Symonds and Greenham provides its clients...

From Hull our family moved abroad, entrusting our keys to Joe and his team and with the understanding agents would show viewer around the house given we couldn't be there. The house was empty and S&G were informed the water was off to comply with insurance.

Over period of many weeks we had a number of viewings. During these the agents (or buyers viewing) used the non-flushable toilets - and to be crude - shat - in not one. Not two. But all three bathrooms, leaving behind an almighty stench and a mess that was left to my 80+ year old in-laws checking on the house to clean up. Only after my in-laws discovered this did we realise why we'd had a string of viewings with negative feedback that for all we know cost us potential buyers. This incident along with others also made clear their agents never bothered to enter the house, keep track of those viewing or have any respect for us, our property or their responsibility to sell it professionally.

All we got from S&G was a meek apology, no explanation. They were more than happy to take a hefty commission but took no responsibility for anything. They're not worth the risk if you want your house sold.

We have recently rented our property out via Symonds and Greenham. Leanne looked after us and made sure the process was clear and ran smoothly.
Leanne was a great help and the property was occupied within 8 weeks.

How refreshing to find genuine honest reliable estate agents in an industry where the reputation of other agents unfairly damages the genuine ones.
I first purchased, then rented a property for two years, dealing with some tricky tenants, and have always been ably looked after by a great team, specifically Matt, Gemma & Alfie. I have today completed the sale of the property and through all three processes they have been excellent. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Refusing to pass on my cash offers to seller.

I emailed this company to pass on a cash offer i made on a property and explained i didnt want to view it and just wanted to buy the property, the first refused to do this saying: "you will need to view the property first"

Estate agents have a legal obligation to pass on any written offer to the vendor.

Knowing they cant withheld offers i then asked:
"Has the vendor agreed to not being told of offers do to not having viewed the property?"

Part of there reply: "It is our company policy that applicants view the property before making an offer and this is the advice we give to our sellers"

You can not give that advice when it is your "legal" obligation to pass on offers.

I explained again i did not want to visit. i just want to buy the property and have the funds to buy it.

There reply: That is not a problem at all.
"I shall remove your inquiry for the time being"

You cant remove an offer and had to almost fight over the email so to speak in order for them to pass over the offer to the buyer.

This company clearly dont want to sell property's and clearly dont understand the Estate Agents Act 1979.

But its ok because i do. i know my right and i know when i have the right to report this company to the property ombudsman.

Absolutely the best Estate agents in the area. First class service. All staff are knowledgeable and trustworthy. We took over 2 years to find one Ur forever home, had our photos etc ready to just push that button for whoever we found out home. There was absolutely no pressure to rush us and we could do our own pace of which we did. All went smoothly. Our first buyer pulled pulled out around 5 days into the journey and Megan solved the problem extremely quickly to find another buyer who had put in an offer and to calm the situation for us to have confidence to carry on of which we did. This review is a little late because we are so happy in our forever home and enjoying retirement it had slipped our minds. Top service from this agent. I am so pleased we chose Symonds and Greenham to handle the sale of our property. From the very beginning the whole team we dealt with were very pleasant, efficient, polite and professional and very patient in listening to questions and requests. They efficiently handled all the viewings, treated the property with respect and security. They also gave us timely information on viewings, and prompt updates on all viewing feedback. I have just sold a property through Symonds and Greenham. Excellent service start to finish. Katie carried out the valuation and I felt she was very honest and realistic in advising me on pricing. They worked closely with me to get the pictures right - initially the pictures didn’t show as many of the period features so they came back and added more.
Gemma handled all the sales negotiations and was so helpful when we hit bumps in the road due to market conditions. She is an excellent communicator, and gave really helpful advice throughout.
I would definitely recommend them. Very attentive and responsive, and realistic - no flannel!

we dealt with Leanne brook, who was brilliant, she took a lot of the stress of us, as we have had a quick sale. she was always at the other end of the phone if needed and offered advice when needed. brilliant professional.
