Sadly, there are lots of suspect ibogaine clinics. There are one or two good ones too. None of them offer the combination of safety, holistic approach and affordability that you will find in the serene Alentejo setting of Tabula Rasa. Again, many of our clients come to us after having been from rehab to rehab, having dropped out of their 12 step group, changed jobs, relationships and countries and so on. Traditional rehab – whether 12 step, SMART recovery or another modality – can work, but its not for everyone. Ibogaine in a holistic therapy context (together with addiction counselling) gives you a fighting chance of finally defeating your addiction. We want you to make the hero’s journey to Portugal to be liberated from your addiction for the rest of your life. We will do everything in power to help you make this happen. New Life

I went into the Tabula Rasa treatment program mid May and was welcomed by Alvaro who I had been in contact with for some time. I spent the previous 8 months tapering off of methadone and had a big battle ahead of me, against many years of opioid abuse. It was a rough couple of weeks but the earthly medicine (in the form of powerful Iboga root and lush oranges that they grow) and popsicles in addition to constant support of caring staff got me through it. Alvaro then helped me into additional care afterwards and stuck by me in the coming months, still talk to this day. I am now over 4 months off of opiates and working on my future, things are looking brighter and I couldn’t have done it without their help. Endless thanks for putting my life back on track!

Life changing

I came to tabula rasa retreat in early July for the extended treatment....the staff and facilities are amazing.... the treatment I received was life changing and awesome...I believe addiction or not everyone can benefit from this type of treatment....I highly recommend it... MAGICAL!!

Taken care of by Tabula Rasa!

I was treated for opiate addiction at Tabula Rasa back in March this year(2022), i have remained off of opiates since, i tried with all my will and strength to get clean for a number of years beforehand, unsuccessfully. I was quite scared and apprehensive leading up to treatment, Tabula Rasa made me feel incredibly welcome and safe, both from a psychological standpoint and medical standpoint. Tabula Rasa is proof that these medicines in a controlled environment are a miracle. I had a life changing experience which i shall forever be grateful for, i cannot emphasise that enough.

I have just left Tabula Rasa retreat


I have just left Tabula Rasa retreat and I can only say it was an amazing experience the staff are unbelievable. The attention to detail and the attention you receive is impeccable. I would strongly recommend anyone thinking about doing this to do it.
I have come out with a completely different aspect on life..

A lovely staff. Absolutely everyone made us feel special and very much 'at home'. Beautiful grounds, delicious meals, spacious, and welcoming. Will recommend to any and everyone.
