I AM 65 YEARS OLD AND NOT IN GREAT PHYSICAL SHAPE. BUT I'M GETTING BETTER EVERYDAY. EXCEPT FOR MY EYESIGHT. LAST SUMMER I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED CATARACT SURGERY IN BOTH EYES (DONE AS 2 SEPARATE SURGERIES). I HAD THEM BOTH A WEEK APART IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER 2025. IT WAS A RECOVERY BUT I KNEW IT WOULD BE WORTH IT AS FAR AS MY EYESIGHT. MY VERY LAST APPOINTMENT WITH MY EYE SURGEON, DR. JUSTIN COCO, WAS ON DECEMBER 10, 2025. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WENT INTO THE ELLSWORTH TARGET OPTICAL. I WAS IGNORED AT FIRST. I WAS IN AN ELECTRICAL WHEELCHAIR. MY HUSBAND AND I WAITED PATIENTLY AND ANXIOUSLY. AFTER THE OTHER 2 CUSTOMERS LEFT THE STORE WE WERE TOLD BY NICOLE THAT I NEEDED TO LEAVE MY CHAIR OUTSIDE. I TOLD HER THAT I COULDN'T AND DID WE NEED TO LEAVE COMPLETELY? THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE, WE FELT INFERIOR TO THIS WOMAN. SHE WAS CONDASCENING, DISCRIMINATORY AND WHEN I GAVE HER MY INSURANCE CARD SHE IMMEDIATELY SAID "WE DON'T TAKE THAT". I TOLD HER THAT I HAD CALLED AHEAD AND WAS TOLD THAT TARGET OPTICAL TOOK MY INSURANCE. I TOLD HER IF I HAD TO LEAVE WITHOUT ORDERING GLASSES THAT I WOULD FILE A COMPLAINT - I WAS FED UP. SHE FINALLY DID CALL IN MY INSURANCE AND IT WAS APPROVED. THEY COVER UP TO $2500 FOR THE FRAMES AND LENSES. THEN SHE SAW ME LOOKING AT THE FRAMES (KIND OF IN THE MID-RANGE FOR COST). SHE CAME OVER AND SAID "YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT PRICE RANGE". I ASKED WHAT RANGE I COULD HAVE AND SHE TOLD ME THE VERY LOWEST WHICH WAS $59.00. LATER SHE TOLD ME MY INSURANCE WOULD ONLY PAY $200 FOR LENSES. I KNEW THIS WAS ALL WRONG BUT I WAS SCARED SO I PICKED OUT A FRAME THAT WAS A PRETTY PINK, DEFINITELY MY COLOR. CAN YOU BELIEVE THERE WAS ONLY ONE FRAME IN THE WHOLE STORE THAT WAS ONLY $59 AND IT DID COME IN PINK SO THAT'S WHAT I CHOSE. AT ONE POINT SHE TOLD ME THAT I COULDN'T HAVE THAT FRAME BECAUSE IT WAS TOO BIG FOR MY LENS PRESCRIPTION. MY EYES ARE TOTALLY OPPOSITE AND THESE GLASSES WOULD GIVE ME FREEDOM. I HAD TO FIND ANOTHER FRAME AND IT WAS BORDERING ON PINKISH WHITE. SO SHE CHARGED ME $500 FOR THE FRAMES AND LATER I FOUND OUT FROM MY INSURANCE THAT THEY PAID $2500 BUT IF I NEEDED TO TAKE THEM BACK, I WOULD NEED TO GET THE REFUND.
I'M REALLY TIRED REHASHING THIS. LET ME GIVE YOU SOME DATES. MY ENCOUNTER IN THAT STORE WAS HORRID, MADE ME CRY AND THAT DATE WAS DECEMBER 11, 2025. HER ASSISTANT TOLD ME THE GLASSES WOULD BE READY IN 2 WEEKS. FAST FORWARD 3 WEEKS AND MY HUSBAND HAS A STROKE AND HE'S IN THE ICU. THE LAST THING ON MY MIND WERE THE GLASSES, BUT STILL THEY WERE ON MY MIND. HE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL A TOTAL OF 3 WEEKS. APPROXIMATELY THE 2ND WEEK OF JANUARY I CALL TARGET OPTICAL AND WAS TOLD MY GLASSES WEREN'T READY. OKAY, SO I WAITED A WEEK. THE PERSON I TALKED TO ASKED MY NAME AND PHONE AND I GAVE IT TO HER. THEN SHE SAID "OH, WHY HAVE YOU TAKEN SO LONG TO CALL? THESE WERE READY WEEKS AGO" AND I ASKED WHY THEY DIDN'T CALL ME AND SHE SAID I GAVE HER THE WRONG PHONE NUMBER. I WENT TO PICK UP MY GLASSES AND GUESS WHAT, THE TAG ON THEM HAD SOMEONE ELSE'S NAME AND PHONE NUMBER, NOT MINE. NICOLE CAME OUT FROM HIDING AND STARTED SCREAMING AT ME. I AM ASSUMING THE LENSES WERE NOT MINE EITHER. BUT THE TRUTH CAME OUT WHEN I SAW THAT THE COLOR OF THE FRAMES WERE HUGE, SO NO WAY THE LENSES WOULD WORK WITH THAT, AND THEY WERE PUKE GREEN!
I'M SORRY ABOUT THIS BUT I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. I HAVE WRITTEN TO YOU, TARGET OPTICAL ON AND ON. TODAY IS THE 12TH OF APRIL IN THE YEAR 2026 AND NO GLASSES. MY INSURANCE COMPANY EMPHASIZED THAT THEY ONLY PAY FOR ONE PAIR A YEAR. SO I CAN'T GET GLASSES UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2027. MY EYES ARE DETERIORATING AND I MAY HAVE TO HAVE MORE SURGERY.

0 stars. Ordered contacts on 3/26. Said theyâd be shipped to the store on 3/31. Today is 4/8. The tracking says they havenât even processed it. I went in person at the Target I got it delivered to. They said they donât know anything about online orders. I called customer service today. After 10 minutes of explaining, he said the contacts were marked as a lost shipment. He said I could get them reordered with expedited shipping, I heard him typing this all down. He said heâd transfer me to the back order team. I got transferred to a woman who said she worked for Raybands not Target Optical. I called customer service again, took 5 minutes to get to a human being. This lady said okay sheâd get me transferred so they could complete a reorder. She transferred me to a survey, where they asked if it helped. I pressed 2 for no, and it hung up. Thanks Target Optical. Without my contacts, I have a vision disability. They quite literally do not care. I spent almost $300 and no one can tell me where my contacts are or how to 1) reorder or 2) get my money back. Scamming outsourcing unethical site.

We saw Dr. George Verlich in Avon, Ohio. He was the rudest optometrist. We had to drive to Avon because the Ontario one was closed for remodeling. My daughter was going to get contacts for the first time. He wouldnât allow her to try to put them in because it would take all night for her to put them in he said. He was trying to put them in her eye and she was telling him to stop because it was hurting and he kept going. My daughter had tears because of it. He told us we would have to schedule another appointment to come back to show she can put them in on her own. We told him we live over an hour and a half away. He still wouldnât allow her to try. The worst experience ever.

Can I give a zero? I had visited an eye doctor within a Target store last year and had ordered my contacts through them. I had assumed that since they were connected there would be some sort of relationship... I was wrong. So in January I tried to re-order my contacts and sent in the Rx that I had. They canceled my first order even though I provided a Rx on their site and said it wasn't valid. Then I went to re-order and before I ordered I called the Dr.s office and made sure my Rx was valid. Went through the ordering process again my contacts were sent....they sent the wrong ones. When I contacted them for a return they told me "well you ordered the wrong contacts." Well excuse me, but you have a prescription written by a doctor which tells you the EXACT contact I wear. YOU, TARGET sent the wrong ones, I did not order the wrong ones. I can't order lens without a Rx that YOU must follow. Two weeks later I had to contact CS to get them to notify the insurance company that I returned the order .... and NOW, I need to contact my credit card company because that has not been credited back yet. STAY AWAY FROM TARGET OPTICAL!!!!!

Slip/Alignment: frame feels loose or sits crooked, frame material is settling, or the need to tighten the hinges.

I would give my experience with Target Optical zero stars if I could. The online ordering portal was incredibly frustrating. I couldnât find my doctor via the phone number or zip code, and tried multiple times to upload the prescription. Finally, after what seemed like a successful order, I got an email saying it was canceled 5 days later because my doctor could not be verified. I then called customer service and they placed the order all over again on the phone, which took about an hour. Even the CS person had trouble uploading my prescription. A week later, I checked on my order status online (never got any email updates that it was even placed) and the order was still pending my prescription. I called again and the CS person uploaded the prescription (again) and said she expedited shipping. I originally went with Target to save a few bucks, but itâs clear that this is a failing business. Will never order from them again.

I had to return my contact lenses because I thought I had bought a pack of 6, but it turned out to be a pack of 2. I returned the entire order and only received a partial refund. I contacted customer service, and they confirmed the full refund because the order had been completely returned. I still haven't received the full refund.

I ordered contacts, waited over a week and never received any updates. When I reached out to customer service, they said there was an issue with the order processing and that it should be cancelled and resubmitted. I did that, reordered, waited another week, contacted customer service and was told the contacts were no longer available - very frustrating. This has been the short version of my frustrations and issues. I ended up ordering more contacts, different brand and product, now when I check the order status it says the contacts have been delivered to my house, but I STILL haven't even received them yet.
I don't trust Target Optical's website or any updates Target Optical Online provides anymore, there are clearly some major issues with it's statusing and logistics. I'm waiting for prescription sunglasses still as well I ordered over a week ago, I still haven't received an update, and I'm afraid I won't receive them and they'll become unavailable and I'll have to start all over again. I'm just so irritated, how many times do I need to order something with Target Optical Online for it to be done right? How can I trust that when I pay Target Optical Online that they will fulfill at this point, or that there won't be continued issues moving forward?

AWFUL company, with AWFUL service! Ordered two boxes of contact lenses, with my vision insurance benefits applied. They sent only ONE box, and it was ripped.
Requested for my order to be resent, and they originally did, but then cancelled the replacement order shortly after. And then claimed that I would get a refund instead for my original order, with no word on whether I would get my insurance benefits back/reset for the year.
Their customer service department is extremely slow, non-responsive at times, and just horrible to deal with. Such a time-wasting company, buy eyewear elsewhere if you value your sanity and time!

they are super rude. I went in today to try and replace the lens of my blue light glasses into prescription and the worker just stared at me and laughed when I asked her the question, so I left. I came back later to the same girl and a new guy, and when I told him about my prior experience with the girl he said, âoh well sheâs newâ I didnât know that was an excuse to be rude and laugh at someone for no reason. Like do your job. And then he continued to be rude and give attitude the whole time. Donât go here.

I had an appointment in Moorpark scheduled for 3:15 pm and was told upon arrival that the doctor was running late. A few minutes later, another couple arrived and were taken in before me, despite arriving after I did. When I asked for clarification, the administrator said they were âexpectedâ to be seen before me, which made no sense given my scheduled appointment time
I was then told I could either wait an additional 15 minutes or come back on Tuesday, with the comment that the optometrist on Tuesday is âless thoroughâ and doesnât run late. That was an odd and unprofessional thing to say and didnât inspire confidence in the practice
