Was blown away when we arrived at Terrace Downs - not only is the view amazing but the villas themselves are maintained to a very high standard. The level of cleanliness was exceptional, and there was a personal greeting card upon arrival. Staff were all very helpful and approachable

From the time I booked our weekend the service from everyone involved was exceptional. When we arrived, Emily greeted me as though she had known me for years. Beautiful place, outstanding meal and we left (regretfully) wishing that we could spend another few days in this divine place. Thank you to the staff :)

This was a great way to give my golfing husband a treat; the course was long and varied so the carts were welcome. The restaurant menu was excellent and the wine list provided a good range of choice.
A high standard of accommodation made this most enjoyable.

If you looking for a quiet time away staying in one of the beautiful villas with spectacular views and a game of golf amongst other options this is the place to be.
We found that the food served at the restaurant was lovely also.

A spectacular setting in which to play golf, if you can concentrate long enough to do it justice!

We played twice in 24 hours, day one in mist & rain, the latter in the most beautiful sunshine with views to die for! It's worth staying an extra 24 hours just to experience it! Buggies are great, lots of little tees, markers, you name it, all no extra charge! Great value golf!

Accomodation excellent, again with views to die for, across to Mt Hutt, and quality fittings & appointments. And BIG! 2 beds, 2 baths, living & balcony, gr8 kitchen!

Staff helpful, nothing too much trouble! Beautiful clubhouse!

We would recommend it to all golfers who love a quality course that is enjoyable to play, still a challenge,(we are mid handicappers) and doesn't swallow balls up the moment you leave the fairway. After 2 1/2 weeks of golf around the South Island this ranks up there as one we'll come back to for sure!

Lovely stay in beautiful surroundings. The only thing I could complain about is that the breakfast service is only between 8am-10am and when we checked out at 10.30am expecting to be able to have breakfast before we left, the only thing we could order was coffee. Disappointing. Extend their breakfast service and I'd have given them 5 stars.

Beautiful location. Luxurious well appointed 3 bedroom unit. We were attending a wedding with our elderly Mother. Unfortunately the resort does not cater very well for the mobility impaired. We were promised a golf cart to collect us from the unit to go to the club house for the ceremony. It never turned up so we had to bundle Mum into our car and drive her there ourselves. The wedding took place downstairs and there was no lift to the main floor for the reception! She had to struggle up the ramp on her walker. This needs to be addressed urgently - it is not good enough.

We loved everything about Terrace Downs Resort. The Wedding ceremony and the Reception. The food was delicious and the staff were very welcoming. The Chalet was lovely and very clean and tidy.

The downside was we were there for 1 night only so did not get to relax in the Chalet and the weather was wet so did not have a good look round the complex. Recommend at least 2 or 3 nights there. We will definitely be back at some stage in the future.

We have just spent two weeks travelling around New Zealand and Terrace Downs was the stand out best accommodation by far. The room was lovely and had absolutely everything you could need. The scenery was totally magnificent. The food and service were spot on. (and the clay pigeon shooting was a lot of fun!) Everything was perfect - we loved it and we will be back. Although we had a great time on our NZ holiday, in the two weeks we were there three things rankled. Most hotels charged for parking - Terrace Downs didn't. All hotels offered free internet connection - it only worked in Terrace Downs. Everyone loaded a 2% credit card surcharge, admittedly Terrace Downs did too, but they only charged 1.5%. Would recommend this place to any and everyone.

Our Accommodation was comfortable,spacious and had superb views of the surrounding mountains and golf course. Showers were good and no problems with hot water. Staff members were welcoming and friendly and we very soon felt at home. The food in the cafe and restaurant was good and once again with friendly service especially Joseph in the cafe.
Would also like to mention The General Manager Mr. Koji who took good care of us throughout our stay. We would indeed recommend Terrace Downs for a truly relaxing break. If I have one complaint it is this: Why isn't there a discount for guests who want to play golf, as in many other places??

We had a great stay at Terrace Downs. Meals were very nice so were the staff. We dont play golf. Great walks and peaceful. Rooms very clean very good beds

Loved the accommodation, and the professional, helpful but unobtrusive staff. Found wending my way around all the various villas a little confusing, especially in misty and wet weather.
The food was beautiful but a shame it was barely warm.. cold roast potatoes!

The golf course was well maintained and great to play - a good challenge. The accommodation (villa 202) was clean & well maintained and equipped. The few niggles such as dead light bulbs were dealt with promptly. However, the food in the clubhouse was overpriced and the quality in the main restaurant was very poor. The NYE buffet was extremely poor value for the price charged and where else can you find a NYE event that closes down at 9pm? Most disappointing. The staff were friendly and helpful but having people who knew nothing about golf running the proshop was bizarre.

As above, we stayed again for our 1 year wedding anniversary as we got married there. The food for the wedding was great and for our anniversary. The service is friendly, the surroundings are gorgeous. Love everything about it and we are going to make a habit of visiting every 5 years for our anniversary

Chalet was excellent, activities well organised (clay target shooting, archery (Neil was very good). Golf course was very well presented. Horse riding was well organised also, although the trail didn't make the most of the scenery.

The restaurant was the only notable disappointment - orders missed, confusion from wait staff on who ordered what, drinks were confused, meals were average. It wasn't a busy night (only three larger tables occupied).

Great hospitality and very friendly.

Great weekend. Staff friendly. Meals were fantastic. Views amazing.

This place was perfect - we absolutely loved our weekend. Great accommodation, great food and great service!
