Made an already traumatic & stressful situation a million times worse. (Notice how they’ve also removed their reviews from their Facebook page)

Absolutely horrific company. Michael Thompson is nothing but rude to his clients. Your allocated solicitor never even attends your hearings, they send young trainees for complicated cases who do not have a clue about your case or fight your corner whatsoever. None of my points ever even got raised every single hearing. They never answer the phone or reply to emails and constantly cancel appointments due to ‘personal reasons’, then rush you through everything in a panic 5 minutes before you go into the court room every hearing. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL REPRESENTATION AND SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE. They refuse to hold their hands up at all for their constant mistakes & awful service and try to turn it on you and make out you are the problem. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. How they are still in business is beyond me. Despite complaining about them to the Scottish Legal Aid Board they were still useless and nothing but rude.

If you see many other 1 star reviews on Google you’ll note this is unfortunately a common experience. How they are still in business after the way they treat their clients is beyond me.

Great when working but will ditch you at a moment notice to palm you on to another firm not necessary providing required needs. I personally would look fo r a more reputable firm that can get you very the line

It was completely waste of time to even reach out to Michael Thompson. First after a call he sent to me a letter looks very convincing so I paid him over 2000£ trusted him for the work, then he applied legal aid, after he got all the money and support from legal aid, he ghosted me. One day he texted me saying I don’t need to show up on court he will explain after this been going on for over half of year I was crying to see my child depending on him to get me to the court.I was clueless as I have never received any letter from him saying that I need to be on court. And that was the last I heard from him . Ever since then I call then receptionist called back for appointments which he fail to tend to. For almost every time . I’ve done being played with. I know I’m a foreign mother whom no one will ever help and expecting me to be silenced after they took what I had used all my leftover value then bin me which is why I’m here telling you Do Not Trust Michael Thompson!!!!!!

Horrendous communication, no progress and illinformed advice. Avoid

Michael Thompson has represented me in a few different cases. Michael has always been extremely professional and approachable throughout. The team were always very responsive with emails, letters and follow up calls and always there to help.
I thank Michael and his team for all their efforts and hard work and wish them all the best for the future.

When I approached Thompson Family Law in 2022 my civil case was on its knees. I had dismissed my previous legal team and started representing myself.
I needed help to get everything back on track as this was a matter of urgency!
My first point of contact was with Michael Thompson, he quickly reassured me that the firm will take on my child custody case and they will do their very best to get this to court.
I was appointed Ainslie Bennet to manage my case.

Put the whole family at ease after a long drawn out process with other lawyers , very expierienced ,very honest from the start keeps the family updated i have put all my faith in Michael to help regain contact with my grandson . After having 2 useless lawyers that wasted 3 years of trying to get access to my son, Claudia from Thompson Family Law was very quick to get things moving & within a couple of months she had tracked down my ex wife & served court papers for access to my son to her, court was in motion, this firm does not mess about, they get the job done, thoroughly recommend them.

Unbelievable as it may seem, this is true. I contacted Mr Michael Thompson to represent me and for over 3 weeks he REFUSED to take statement and REFUSED to send letter of engagement/ T & C of contract. He insisted he wanted to go on record without giving me advise, without taking instructions. He forced me to allow him go on record

A day after the hearing he sent me T & C or rather 5 rules we should work to. He did not take statement or instructions so he wrote what suits him in outlay of work to be carried out. Which was not what I wanted. He said he was now representing me as my solicitor WITHOUT taking statement or giving Mr advice or sending letter of engagement

He had previously told me he can make decisions for me and act for me if he is nor able to reach me and when I refused he said that's how it works. I sent him an email to ask to speak urgently with him. He asked me to contact his office as per T & C and when I told him there is no T & C I had agreed to and he had not sent it.i told him I will not be bullied to accept T & C he refused to send to me.

He said he withdraws from representing me because I refused to accept the T & C he imposed without 1st sending me a letter of engagement or taking statement or advising

This firm is not to be trusted. Fleeeeeeee as far as your legs can carry you or you will regret it

He told me if he cannot reach me he will act for me without my knowledge and without my permission. He said I can only instruct him by phone despite me telling him I want to instruct by email. He refused and said I can only instruct by phone& many more
