Beginning was just about strength training and that gave a lot of experience, I feel like I understand the way how to do it and prevent injury while getting stronger as well. For running part, it gave me freedom and thinking more about the feelings rather then the Strava numbers⊠I think thatâs the message of Thatâs Runnable.
The app approach is very easy to use and you can send a private text to Tommy anytime. I found a huge benefit in this coaching program.
An excellent coaching hub!!
This is truly an excellent coaching hub! Iâm so glad I found Tommy and his Thatâs Runnable app. It combines a balance of running and strength training. Iâm a fairly new runner but the best part is that you choose the program according to your level. You can then move up to the next level whenever you are ready!
The strength training supports your running. Easy to follow exercises in the strength training videos.
In addition you can track your progress! Thereâs also a library of other resources! Lots of videos on how to improve your running, deal with injuries and recovery, maintain your love of running, the list goes on!
You can chat with Tommy directly with questionsâŠ.plus there is a very supportive community forum that you can interact with.
I highly recommend this app! Iâve learned so much and I see the improvements and confidence I have already achieved!

Tommy is the real deal. He really cares about the long run! You will start feeling stronger for every week.
Strength, running, and accountability
I've been trying and failing to incorporate strength training into my running since I started running a of couple years ago. Tommy's semi-structured plans (each week you get a week's worth of sessions you can organize into your own life) have made me actually stick to it. Having his instructional videos and commentary about just showing up even if you're uncomfortable in the gym space has removed so much of the friction for me.
It's also been nice having a plan that intentionally balances strength alongside the main goal of running. It's only been three weeks but I'm really enjoying it so far. Also of note, since I've joined Tommy has released two new video collections and a new training level. There's lots of good information that's actively being expanded.

I picked up running again in the last 2 years with no real emphasis on strength training which in hindsight was the reason for reoccurring injuries and niggles.
After listening to tommyâs podcast I decided to get involved with thatâs runnable. Tommy provides an inclusive easy to navigate app with loads of time spent on providing detailed videos and in depth explanations on types of runs, and for me I found the strength training segments fantastic. The coaching hub as a whole has enabled me to be consistent with both running and strength training and i can definitely see a positive outcome from the strength training, I just wish I had started earlier. Thanks again Tommy!
Best online coach out there
I have been working with Tommy for a few months now and the results are just amazing. His program is concise and easy to follow, and pushes you to exactly the point you need to be at.
My running has improved exponentially and my confidence in the gym is through the roof.

Tommy's program has helped me so much. It's a great balance of running and strength work, and allows me the flexibility to choose my workout routine and workload according to my circumstances. It's challenging, but also ensures I keep the joy of running by not applying too much pressure or being too serious.
The online/app platform is a great balance of group coaching and personalisation, because you can still chat to Tommy, and also benefit from the group forums.
There's loads of other resources in addition to the program which are great to improve your knowledge about running and tune into your body.

Glad I joined his program!
After a history of injuries and more than one training plan and/or app, I decided to join Tommyâs program. His approach to running and especially strength training is much different - but also way better for me- than what I did before.
For the first time, Iâm enjoying my strength training. Itâs very well structured lots of fun and sometimes very humbling (in a good way).
On top of that, the community in the app ist great, Tommy always answers fast and thoroughly in the groups but also privately.
He always takes the time to support you.

I am so happy I found Tommy and his coaching hub! Tommy's focus on strength training is very different from how I trained before and after a month of following his program closely I can already feel a positive difference. Being a single mum and having to run on odd hours my running journey can at times feel a bit lonely so I really appreciate the community aspect of the hub as well. We are a bunch of runners of all levels supporting eachother with no judgment, only encouragement! On top of this, Tommy is always very quick to answer questions, both privately and in the group chat, and shares his own journey which gives his coaching an extra layer of support and a very human (and realistic) approach. Will definitely continue on once my initial 3 months are up!
Runnable
I couldnât recommend Tommy and the runnable app any more. I was a little dubious to start with, having had an online coach previously and then signed up to more than one generic running app. These have always ended in the same way⊠getting injured and feeling like running was a chore! After giving up running and focusing on strength training for the last few years, I stumbled across Tommy on instagram, and I am so glad I did! I am thoroughly enjoying the strength training and running. I finally feel like my training has purpose! Better still, I have stayed injury free. Tommy is always on hand and happy to help on an individual level. The community on the app is also great. This isnât like other apps/online coaches, I really canât recommend Tommy and runnable enough!
Solid foundations for the long run
Well rounded program, very accessible and full of resources. Tommy is always available for quick consults and questions. The workouts are well explained and digestible. I also love the consciousness encouraging mindset Tommy brings to training. More than anything I value most the training philosophy and overall approach to running and the outdoors. I can confidently recommend, especially if youâre focused on a healthy, long term, enjoyable strong, durable and cohesive approach to running.

Genuinely amazing training program for (ultra) runners that want to improve and get stronger
Iâve had such a good experience with the TR coaching hub as a first time ultra runner.
The program combines running and in-detail strength training tailored for runners to keep you balanced and injury free which is something that I have missed in any other running plans.
Tommy is really responsive and encouraging and puts a lot of effort into knowing each individual personâs goals and challenges to adapt the plan and give specific advice. Amazing value for the money for such a personal approach.
I also really enjoy the whole philosophy of the program, the growing knowledge repository and the community of athletes with similar goals but unique backgrounds.
Great training program for new and existing athletes
I came to Tommy as a relatively experienced ultra marathon athlete, but one with a few niggles and weaknesses that needed addressed. The That's Runnable program offers a refreshing, full-body-athlete program to help address fragility and build a strong, durable foundation to support the crazy distances us ultra athletes insist on doing, and he comes at it from an angle that he knows something about.
It is really helpful and refreshing that Tommy not only is a coach, but trains his athletes the way he himself trains as an ultra athlete. He walks the walk.
In all, the training has not only BEEN effective at helping me to address my weaknesses and strengthen my foundation, but I have every confidence that it will continue to BE effective and instrumental for my running career into the future. I don't think you can do wrong with this program.
Great even for experienced runners
As a semi-regular ultra runner I was not 100% sure what I would get out of Tommyâs coaching. 8 weeks in and Iâve got a lot from it. Tommy provides you with knowledge to train your body but also look after it. I am stronger and fitter than ever, injury free and running PBs in the shorter distances whilst training for the long ones. The structure of a running plan was not what I needed, I needed guidance and thatâs what Tommy provides.
