We look forward to getting our subscription every month. My little boy is 21 months old and loves to read so this was the perfect gift for him. He gets excited opening his parcel … The books are beautiful, the activity cards are fun and the cuddly toys are cute. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next month so we can spend even more time reading together!

As a mum, I truly believe encouraging a love of reading from an early age is one of the most important things we can do for our children. It builds confidence, independence, and imagination — not just literacy skills.
We’ve had a really positive experience with The Bear Can Read. The books are carefully chosen and feel age-appropriate without being overwhelming. The structure makes it easy for parents to support learning at home, even on busy days.
What stands out to me is how it turns reading into something calm and enjoyable rather than pressured. It’s become a lovely part of our routine, and I can see the difference in confidence already.
I would definitely recommend it to parents who want to actively support their child’s reading journey in a gentle and encouraging way.

Absolutely amazing subscription box. My little one was so excited to receive her first box. All being addressed to her only added to the excitement. The resources given are perfect for the age and stage of the child. Provides lots of fun activities to sit down and do together. My little girl didn’t realise that she was learning because she was enjoying herself so much. The team are extremely responsive if you have any questions or need any help. They are so friendly and helpful. I also feel that the boxes provide fantastic value for money. The amount of resources you receive for the price is amazing. I only wish I had subscribed sooner!!

My daughter loves these cute little boxes. She looks forward to receiving her box each month which include fun worksheets, a couple of reading level appropriate books and a little gift.

Incredibly helpful customer service. I needed to get 3 months worth of activities to take to my granddaughter in France at very short notice. The books etc were sent the same day by Royal Mail. Thank you!

Amazing. The company helped me out when I ordered the wrong age group. The papers are fantastic as their are helping my child read letters. I would recommend for any parents and teachers.

We love the bear can read… we are always delighted with the book choices, the worksheets and the little surprise in every box… I highly recommend this subscription service to anyone with little ones my little girls have really benefited from it!

My daughter really enjoys the books, the extra bits and the exercises and colouring/drawing sheets.

It's a great experience getting her box through the door with her name on it.

You could argue that it would be cheaper to buy the books by yourself and print off activity sheets that you might find free on the internet somewhere.

However, in my experience, phonics books are quite expensive anyways. And you get a good selection in this box that are chosen for your child's age and ability. Also, the fact that it's a little gift that comes through the door every month really does help your child get excited about reading and want to read the books.

So I definitely feel like it is worth the money. My only wish is that you would get a better, more permanent discount for siblings.

We love our subscription box :) based on my child reading level, every month we will receive worksheets, books and cards to learn with my little one at home !! It’s really make learning fun !!

Didn’t arrive at all but quick to take money.

My son has been receiving bear can read for around 2 years and loves his little parcel every 2 months. Recently they accidentally sent the same parcel as last time and it was sorted within the hour. A new parcel is on its way and they asked me to donate the second books to school/ charity etc.

I have now upped our subscription to every month and will be signing my youngest child up when the time is right!

We are absolutely loving this monthly package. They’ve been brilliant at responding quickly to emails when my daughter has moved up levels quicker than expected and adjusted packs accordingly. Fantastic communication in timely manner,

Thought I had cancelled my subscription but turns out I had paused it. No warning that an order was upcoming from them. Despite emailing within 5 minutes of order being placed, they refused to cancels it! Appalling customer service. Not worth the money.

My 5year old loves getting these through the post- I lost my bank card and cancelled card and therefore a couple didn't come through "MUMMY WHERE IS MY BEAR READING?? I miss it" have subsequently sorted and also ordered for twin two year olds...
