Getting legally married in Italy as foreigners is genuinely complex — which is why most couples settle for a symbolic ceremony and handle the legal paperwork back home. We refused to compromise, and our wedding planner made all the difference.
The legal requirements are daunting: a Nulla Osta (certificate of no impediment) from your home country, apostilled and translated by a certified interpreter; documents filed with the Italian Comune in advance; a mandatory pubblicazione di matrimonio waiting period; a civil ceremony conducted in a specific legal format; and post-ceremony registration with both Italian and home-country authorities. Every step involves precise timing, official stamps, and people who know exactly what they're doing.
Our planner knew all of it cold. He knew which offices to visit, which officials to speak to, and he arranged everything — the certified interpreter, every document translation and apostille, every filing deadline. He didn't just know the process, he knew the people, and it showed.
Because of him, we didn't experience a single stressful moment around the legal side of our wedding. We simply got to enjoy being in Italy, getting married in the place we had always dreamed of, knowing every detail was handled perfectly. Our marriage was fully legal and recognized in both countries — without us ever feeling the weight of the paperwork that made it possible.

Along with the dream of marrying in Italy came legal and bureaucratic considerations. We were also on a strict timeline. We needed help and that help needed to be fast and, equally important, reliable.

Alessandro, from the Legal Wedding Planner, made our dream Italian wedding a reality and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to anyone who wants to legally get married in Italy! My husband and I got married in Limone sul Garda earlier this year, and Alessandro not only handled all the legal aspects, but also put us in contact with a local interpreter who we hired to translate our wedding ceremony from Italian to English.
