I bought Johns two cookbooks a long…

I bought Johns two cookbooks a long time ago and was a long term follower. I am no longer one due to some behaviours I’ve seen.
I’m very disappointed in how he speaks to people overall and some of the beliefs he shares. In the last few years he has really shown who he is deep down. I am not relating this to the MH or drinking as none of the things he has said have changed recently.
I’m giving 1 star as he is suggesting the calorie deficit which is likely unachievable for a lot of people and he makes claims such as “start today lose 6 stone by August” which I do not think is realistic or actually healthy.

Here are some of the reasons for me disagreeing with your targets being unrealistic -

Sustaining ~2.5 lb/week for 33 weeks can increase the chance of:
Muscle loss (not just fat)
Hormonal disruption (missed/irregular periods, low testosterone)
Fatigue, dizziness, weakness
Hair thinning, brittle nails
Nutrient deficiencies
Gallstones
Metabolic adaptation, making regain more likely
When it might be acceptable
This rate may be less concerning if:
Your starting weight was high
Weight loss was medically supervised
You ate enough protein and micronutrients
You did strength training
You feel energetic, mentally well, and physically strong
Red flags to pay attention to
If you’re experiencing any of these, it’s a sign the pace may be too aggressive:
Constant exhaustion or brain fog
Feeling cold all the time
Hair loss
Loss of menstrual cycle
Frequent injuries or weakness
Anxiety or obsession around food

Bottom line:
For most people, 84 lb in 33 weeks is borderline to overly aggressive, especially without medical supervision. Slowing the rate slightly often leads to better health and better long-term maintenance.

I actually appreciate this review, as it gives me the opportunity to clear up a few misconceptions.

The one star appears to be for suggesting a calorie deficit to lose six stone by August 2026 which, at the time of writing, is 33 weeks away. Having coached thousands of people over the years, I know this is not only achievable, but sustainable when done properly.

To demonstrate that confidence, I even offered to work with you personally on this. Unfortunately, it’s often easier to label something “unrealistic” than to accept that change requires effort and consistency.

Once you accept that a goal is achievable, it usually becomes uncomfortable because it means the barrier isn’t the method, it’s the commitment. And that’s where many people choose to disengage. The bottom line is it's achievable.

been following the meal prep king for a few years now. got his books and the meal prep containers. these containers are the best. I have a set and I got a set for my daughter when she moved out to university

Excellent

I have followed this brand for some time now and I’ve also purchased the glass food containers and these are excellent quality.
I would recommend this brand.
The cook books are amazing and easy to follow.

I’ve been following TMPK via social…

I’ve been following TMPK via social media for a good few years. I have purchased all his meal prep books and containers which I highly recommend!. I find John puts a lot of work into motivating himself and his followers. For me personally his books and his instagram posts have been keeping me on track for years.

Trigger Warning: Spits straight facts

I have followed John on Instagram for about 7 years & love his straight talking no nonsense approach to life in general, not just weight loss. I for one have never taken any 'offense' to anything hes said, the only people who do (and those writing negative reviews no doubt) in my opinion, are those who have some deep insecurities of themselves & dont like to hear straight facts. Simple.
I have never bought any of his containers as yet, simply because I've never organised myself enough to do food prep so cant comment on that, however I have every faith they are top quality. I genuinely cant see John accepting anything less if I'm honest.
He also has plenty of free material to use to get you started (I have saved a few meal ideas myself) & daily motivational talks through his stories.
Bottom line, straight talking guy with a good sense of humour who likes to help people reach their goals & keeps it real in the process. Simple as - no bulls**t! 😊

TMPK has helped me so much with meal…

TMPK has helped me so much with meal planning, prepping, and motivation to keep trying. Meal Prep Sunday videos are my favorite. John has even taken the time to answer me personally in messaging with questions I’ve had.

I found John (the meal prep king) on my sobriety journey and found him to be genuine and honest about his experience. It has been nice to have someone to talk to about recovery. It's been a pleasure to see you grow and overcome obstacles others have tried to bring you down. This fuels you on and I am very happy to see you moving onwards and upwards. Its the only way. Proud of you John

Been following John for a few years now, can not fault his determination to help others, looking forward to using the meal prep guide book and enjoying more of his social media content with the dogs, even more so the RS6 👏🏼👏🏼😁😁

John is honest and supportive

John is honest, knows what he’s talking about having been through it himself and is a great person to support with both improving and enhancing your health but I also believe what he shares is life changing. He is so open about what he’s been through himself and always listened when I’ve struggled!

Have bought and been using the books…

Have bought and been using the books for a long time and whilst my goal is to no longer lose weight (having successfully done so over a period of two years) and I don't meal prep most of my meals except for breakfast, I do still use the recipes but tweak them as I'm now looking to gain lean muscle mass. Stop making excuses and make some changes!

I have purchased all the meal prep books and the meal prep containers, the books are great and have some brilliant recipes in and can be done on a budget. The glass containers are the best I have ever had wash great and still look brand new! Dont hesitate to purchase.
