Maximilian has been incredibly helpful and patient with me, especially as I’m a new to navigating all of this for the first time. He always responds promptly, is very friendly, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. I really appreciate his support and professionalism, he’s made the whole experience much easier and more reassuring.

I was first in contact with Maximilian for medicine interview support. Maximilian was extremely helpful and responsive, readily answering all of my questions and Maximilian put me in contact with an interview tutor, Elizabeth.

The interview preparation sessions with Elizabeth were very helpful. The mock interviews were very realistic and closely mirrored the interview format on the day. Both during and after each session, Elizabeth gave me detailed, tailored feedback on the mock interviews as well as content discussed during the session.

The sessions were very interactive and personalised; Elizabeth gave me practical frameworks for tackling challenging questions and scenarios as well as how to articulate my answers.

Communication was excellent. Elizabeth was very responsive and sent extra resources (articles and reflection prompts) to work on between sessions. Elizabeth’s calm and positive attitude were invaluable when working through interview content and were an immense help in preparation for the interview. Elizabeth helped me to be able to readily deliver my answers in a confident manner and gave me a sense of ease in preparation for the interview.

Elizabeth has a very friendly and engaging manner and was very supportive and encouraging of me in my journey towards medicine which is much appreciated. I received an offer for graduate entry Medicine.
I couldn’t recommend Maximilian, Elizabeth and the interview support service on The Medic Portal more highly enough to anyone preparing for medical school interviews.

Professional and efficient training very supportive to my daughter leading to excellent ucat results.

I can truly say I have no belief in their system of vetting the interviewers they choose. At least 3 medic students known to me have applied to them for a position to tutor and these are ones from premium universities in London. Each of them reported their interviewer was uninterested from the first minute, barely asked them a question and just wanted to finish early. She had no interest in assessing their knowledge or what they had to offer. The interview last barely 4 min each and no further contact or feedback was given, The company needs to look into this neglectful employee who is clearly doing them a disservice.

Bought a comprehensive interview prep package for £1,437. It included 1 day interview material learning, 1 day mock interview, 15 hours of personal interview material learning and 5 sessions personal mock interviews. I really liked the personal trainings. Both Anusha and Ayneed Fareed Aslam were great trainers.I like the personal sessions because its training is based on your specific need and very flexible. Trainers can understand the weaknesses of the trainee, give feedback and tailor the teaching based on that.
Personally, I think the personal tutoring is very helpful compared to the standerdized 1 day training as it helps you improve your interview skills a lot. It was definitely pivotal in my interview success. There should be more packages with personal training.

TheMedicPortal's UCAT prep services are 'alright'.

Pros:
- There is a decent volume of questions to practise with.

- There is some relevant advice in their online course pdf.

Cons:
- Their one-day online video course is slightly helpful, probably not worth the cost, just repeats a lot of what the pdf says.

- Their question banks have LOTS of mistakes in them, particularly as you get deeper into the content. Questions with major assumptions required to get to correct answers and so on.

- No proactive effort seems to be made to address any issues raised in their 'Report a Problem' tool for the question bank.

Overall, I would say their course is much less in terms of quality than I would have expected. It does the job if all you're looking for is a mass of questions to try.

The UCAT course has been really useful. I got it through school and I like the explainations and variety. I phoned up to chat about my password and they were very nice. Thank you

Bought one of their UCAT prep packages for £600, it is not worth a single penny. The in-person course doesn't teach you anything that isn't freely available online, and the question bank is very lacking compared to competitors. You could get a better experience for much cheaper if you just bought medify or medentry.

Bought the UCAT course and tutoring for £441 and it wasn't worth it at all, terrible course with an extremely basic question bank where keyboard shortcuts don't even work, DO NOT BUY

Good explanation of the UCAT, massively improved my understanding of the course.

Great course

He explained everything in depth while keeping information concise. The use of real life examples and small tricks and tips really enabled my understanding of the UCAT test questions to develop.

Medic Portal and their tutor Ms Anusha, helped my son with his interview prep. He got 2 offers while in the 7% overseas quota. Thank you so much for your great work!

Very good I would recommend. Easily accessible for help and advice. My son had help at each of his interviews . Would recommend . Bit pricey but was worth it

Good website but super over-priced!
There is no world in which you should pay £1869.00 for interview preparation!

I payed 20 pounds for the "crammer" BMAT question bank. All I got were access to 3 past papers (not "all of the past papers" in the advertisement) and practice questions. The practice questions, especially the physics section, has so many flaws in the questions and answers it would be detrimental to someone's learning. Fortunately I am a graduate medicine applicant with a previous degree in Chemistry so I can see these flaws very easily. Essentially, it is overpriced and a poor quality product.

Their mmi course is excellent

Went to their mmi course this year and i found it brilliant. The interviewers were friendly overall and the fact that they give comprehensive feedback is immensely useful. The booklets that they give are full of information on respective medical schools and current issues to do with healthcare aswell as the feedback that they give you. Overall i found it great and a must have for any medical school applicant
