I could take my time and do everything on my own time. I always received immediate feedback when I wanted to know something. It's a good course. Some of the words are just a little too high english for me lol but I'm Afrikaans speaking.

The modules are easy to understand. I've learnt a lot. My tutor Justin always gives me great feedback and advice that is helpful

I love doing this course! Every module is laid out to let the student understands each aspect. And I love that the assignments reinforces what you have learned.

I’ve really enjoyed the course so far. The assignments are creative, practical and have helped me become more confident with my camera, composition and editing. I also like being able to work at my own pace. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to improve both their technical skills and creativity.

I stumbled upon The Photography Institute while searching for a course, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The website was sleek and easy to navigate, but the real game-changer was the limited-time offer they had. I grabbed the bundle deal without hesitation, and I’m already halfway through the first module. The content is top-notch, and the instructor’s passion shines through. If you’re serious about improving your skills, this is a no-brainer. Worth every penny!

I'm almost done the course, just working on the final assignment for Module 12. I love that the assignments forced me to do the hard work; researching and practicing taking photographs using the new info learned from the module.

I especially enjoyed my tutor Steven Vote. Incredibly encouraging and fast at answering my questions throughout the course.

The course is online which of course offers flexibility but can be difficult if you like to procrastinate. It is nice that the next module is not released until the previous assignment has been submitted to help keep you on track.

My main piece of advice is to be aware of what season you are taking the course as a lot of assignments in the earlier modules require bright, clear sunny days. This was a problem for me as where I live there are many grey days during winter. Sometimes there wasn't a sunny day in over 2 weeks which caused me some delay. This may not be a problem for some if they are not wanting to complete the course within a certain timeframe.
Overall it's a great course. I'm happy Im taking it/ almost completed it and have already started an advanced module on Lightroom.

I love learning more about photography and all the tips and tricks given are very helpful
The grammar used is sometimes not fully clear because English isn't my first language
But other than that it's one amazing experience that will open doors in my future

I have really enjoyed my photography course through The Photography Institute. I’ve owned a camera since I was young and have always been mostly self-taught, so I wanted to strengthen my knowledge and skills and gain a deeper understanding of the art behind photography.

This course has definitely taken my photography to the next level. I’ve not only learnt more about the technical side of photography, but also about the creative process and how to approach an image with more confidence.

One of the things I enjoyed most was being able to work at my own pace. Having tutors readily available whenever I had questions made the experience even better. I tend to overthink things, but as you work your way through the course, you start to realise that photography doesn’t always have to be complicated. Sometimes you just need to trust what you see and go for it.

And if you do get stuck, there’s always support available through the tutors and the helpful student community, which makes the whole learning experience feel much less daunting.

I’ve really enjoyed the journey and feel like I’ve grown not only as a photographer but also in my confidence and understanding of photography. I would definitely recommend The Photography Institute to anyone looking to improve their photography skills or take their passion to the next level.

I enjoyed being challenged in this Diploma and having access to ask my tutor questions when needed. It was a great course, but more options for hands on seminars or lessons with professionals of our trade would have been useful. Or even more webinars.

I must say, at first I had my doubts about doing a one year online diploma as I really thought that one needed to be in a classroom or lecture hall to gain the the much needed knowledge for photography from a practical point of view. I can now say with absolute honesty that I am so glad that I chose do it! I have enjoyed every module from start to finish and I am only half way. I have learnt and am still learning. It's not just learning about the history but also very practical.

The support and feedback for each assignment that I have received from George Seper has been nothing short of informative and awesome! He has a WORLD of knowledge and look forward to the rest of the course!

I can highly recommend this course to anyone from beginner and up who would like to learn, improve or even hone in photography.

I joined The Photography Institute as a student a few years ago. PI helps people earn professional qualifications in photography. The service delivery and modules are very high quality, and you really need to spend time completing assignments. It is flexible if you don't have time to complete the course, and you can purchase an extension. As you work through the course at your own pace, plan each module and allow enough time for assignments. I learned a lot from the course! It improved my knowledge of photography and practical skills, and I enjoy each module as a new challenge. I wish I had a bit more contact with tutors, but you can always contact them with questions or for advice. My overall experience as a student at PI is very positive, and I would recommend the course to anyone wanting to gain qualifications in photography.

Online and easy to understand, very in-depth information with practical assignments that help me understand concepts.

Hi there. I've been doing my certificate of photography. I've found, that doing it at my own pace online, is quite helpful due to my personal Health problems. The tutors have been great, they respond as soon as I leave a message. I definitely recommend using The Photography Institute. I'm looking to do my diploma of photography. Thanks.

Overall, I’ve had a good experience with the Photography Institute, but studying online can be quite a lonely journey. I think having a community or discussion forum where students can connect, share work and learn from one another would make a huge difference. Studying on your own isn’t always ideal.

The biggest thing I feel is missing from the course is creative freedom. Many of the assignments feel very technical and focused on getting things “right”, rather than encouraging you to keep creating, experiment and develop your own visual language. I would have loved more opportunities to simply make photographs, take creative risks and explore photography as an art form.

The course is also very technical and places a strong emphasis on photography history and theory. While I understand the value of this, I would have preferred more focus on how photography is practised today. Some of the material can also be difficult to grasp from a neurodivergent perspective, particularly the amount of maths, graphs and diagrams.

That said, the tutors are great and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback. My tutor is also the owner of the course. He can be quite tough on you at times and sometimes approaches photography in a more traditional way, but it’s clear that he has your best interests at heart.

The student support has been the biggest highlight for me. They are incredibly quick, helpful and efficient whenever you need assistance.

The course is value for money but it does not really teach you about manual mode as I had hope.

Overall, I think the course has a lot to offer, but I would love to see more creative freedom, contemporary approaches and opportunities for students to connect with one another.
