Not happy after the Ensora Acquisition
While TheraNest has reliable performance, navigating its features can be somewhat awkward. Since the acquisition by Ensora about a year ago, I've noticed a significant decline in the quality of their customer service, particularly with the sales support teams. They often seem unfamiliar with the details of the platform. Although their "Essential plan" remains one of the most affordable options available for EHRs, it does fall short in terms of capabilities.
Additionally, the sales representatives tend to be secretive about the "annual plan," which offers a discount. I've also observed that they have substantially increased prices for "grandfathered" customers from the original TheraNest. While tech support does take longer to respond now, I must commend the professionalism and helpfulness of their support staff.
I genuinely appreciated TheraNest when it was an independent company, but Iâm now considering a transition to a different platform.

7 years of satisfaction and an underwhelming experience
I've been TheraNest for almost 8 years. Many times I've heard others share how much they love other EHR systems yet I've chosen to stay because I know how to do almost everything I want to do. I've had some lackluster experiences with the RCM program. The instructions provided to load contracted insurances falls significantly short. The contract requires a 90-day written notice of non-renewal and renews for a year at a time. I anticipate most users will miss this, as I did. I will acknowledge that they've attempted to make it better, but software contracts with links to additional terms are the WORST especially when the additional terms are pages and pages long and cover so many features I'm not using. It's just another place where, as a therapist, I feel like system beats me up when I'm trying to do good for my community.
