Iâm mostly a back-sleeper, so this wasn't ideal for me; could be good for side-sleepers who like firm pillows!
Iâm mostly a back-sleeper â sometimes a bit on my side but mostly on my back â and I just spent a week sleeping on the Sleepr Pillow. Here is my experience:
⪠First night â did not sleep well. Couldnât figure out where on it to sleep. But woke up more alert than usual.
⪠Second night â again, took me a while to fall asleep, but also again, I woke up more alert than usual. Also, even though it took me longer to fall asleep than usual, I did fall asleep faster the second night than the first.
⪠Notes from Night Three:
â I'm getting more used to it.
â Itâs growing on me.
â It still takes me a moment while lying down, to figure out where to put my head.
â I do seem to wake up earlier on this pillow
â At night, I donât think Iâm as comfortable, but then in the morning, I wake up earlier than normal and still feel well-rested and alert
â A couple nice bonuses I realized:
â 1. At night, itâs convenient to be able to put my head on the firm side of it to lie on my side to read.
â 2. In the morning, when I journal my dream on my laptop in bed, itâs convenient that I donât have to grab another pillow to go behind my head, because my head is already more lifted than with a regular pillow, so I already can see my laptop pretty well.
⪠Notes from Night Four:
â Again, enjoyed that itâs easier than with other pillow to read in bed, because I can lie on my side with my head on the higher stiffer part. That is helpful!
â I want to acknowledge that I still plan to go back to my MyPillow, but for nights when I care less about how I fall asleep and more about waking up early with energy and alterness after my initial waking phase â this pillow may come in handy!
â It doesnât feel super restful in the traditional sense, but â it feels like a welcome challenge, and I like having a challenge!
⪠then, didnât take notes for a couple nights, but my last notes are from waking up after Night Six:
â I think maybe I donât sleep as deeply with it, and I think this because I get woken up more easily in the morning, like, an hour or two before I intend to wake, I start hearing birds outside, etc.
⪠Now
â I will have to admit that once my weeklong challenge was over, I went straight back to my MyPillow.
â But â the Sleepr Pillow may be good for you if
â you donât mind how long it takes you to fall asleep, especially if you like to lie in bed on your side and read a book for a while before you fall asleep anyway
â you donât mind getting woken up early, as long as you are alert and full of energy when you wake up
â you like to be a little bit more upright in bed, for using your computer or tablet in the morning
â youâre a side-sleeper who likes a firm pillow.
