It’s a shame UK theme parks dont take a leaf out of Orlando’s theme parks. UK long queues for very short rides. Mainly all rollercoasters, no interactive rides like Harry Potter or Star Wars (like Ame... もっと見る

Expect at least 1h:30min waiting times.
Hmmm. Not sure how to begin. Went on a Sunday by myself and had to wait at least 1h:30min for almost every ride.
Managed to go on 4 rides all day which is ridiculous, and this was achieved by going staying in the queue after the other. Meaning I had to grab a bite while waiting in the queue.
To pay for a single ticket is a massive rip off as you have to pay for parking too.
Luckily for me I had Merlin pass and cost wise was nominal as I visit more attractions and free parking.
From all the attractions visited this is the by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
Ok, I said to myself long waiting times on a Sunday is to be expected, so I took a day off in the week on a Tuesday. The waiting times were pretty much the same lol. Just ridiculous.
Also, I would like to mention the Hyperia was shut on both days of my visit.
I would NOT recommend this for a day out with your family or by yourself. You have a better day going to Alton Towers.
What a disaster.
Awful and expensive
Que times for rides are ridiculous,
Que times for food is ridiculous,
12 pounds for parking there all day is scandalous.
The expanded make shift car park has given Thorp park the opportunity to cram more people into the park with insufficient amount of rides, food vendors and staff.
Ghost train is terrible, and not worth the time waiting in que, it's more of diversion tactic to keep a large amount of people away from decent rides for a while.
Thorpe park charges you £15 to drop off and collect your kids from the park.
Took my daughter and her friends to Thorpe park. I dropped them off using the Thorpe Park "drop off" lane and then went to work. I came back at 6PM to collect them.
They had a great time but... when I tried to leave the "drop off" area the gate was down. I had to pay a parking charge of £15, for almost 9 hours of parking, to get my car out of the drop-off area.
The drop off area treats you ask if you've parked there all day. It turned what should have been a 5 minute pickup into a 30 minute, angry queue of people having to step our of their cars to pay £15 to get out of the car park.
Fabulous
Polite staff
Clean resort
Minimal queues
Free water and suncream refills
Excellent food choice and quality
Excellent value
Worst theme park in the UK
Worst theme park in the UK. We've tried all other places, but this one is the worst. Don't book until you read this review.
We booked for Friday, July 19th. The weather was very hot, around 31 degrees, and we had three children with us who couldn't use many rides. We planned to use Amity Beach and seven other rides suitable for their age, but sadly, the beach was closed. When we asked, they said it was under maintenance, but no one was working there. Why do maintenance in the summer? No one told us beforehand. Except for one ride, all were closed. We just used Storm Surge, and the queue was so long because they don't limit ticket sales. The staff at Storm Surge were also very rude.
We went home with nothing. Thorpe Park is just for teenagers; they shouldn't sell tickets when the family rides are closed. The entrance staff were also very unprofessional. We waited 30 minutes in the queue, then used our barcode to open the gate, but it didn't work. Staff asked us to go back to reception before entering to measure our kids who are under 120cm. We waited in another queue, only to be told to measure ourselves. It was so frustrating. We went back to the gate, and it still didn't work.
We emailed them, they just said sorry, we don't guarantee that beach or other rides are working.

Terrible wait times, Miserable staff and poor communication
We went to Thorpe Park (2 adults and a child of 13) on a Monday, prior to the schools finishing for the year.
The number of kids there without adults was unreal, and they were disrespectful, shouting abuse and jumping the lines. That isn't the fault of the park, but it added to the negative experience.
In the first 6 hours we were there (out of 7) we managed to get on 4 rides... that absurd. One of the queues we found ourselves in stopped for about 25 minutes - why? I have no idea. The staff didn't communicate anything to anyone and the app was pretty useless. I'd rather have the humans tell me what's going on than an app.
I worked out that on most rides, 2 minutes of waiting in the queue equated to 1 second on the ride. I was that bored.
Having spoken to Thorpe Park about this, they offered me tickets at a reduced price. Ie. their apology was to expect me to pay them some more money for another terrible experience. We won't ever be going back and will opt for Alton Towers or theme parks abroad.
Thorpe Park - do better.
Mixed Feelings
Positives - getting through the main entrance was super quick, really well organised. The park itself is clean and there's plenty of food and drink options dotted around. There's a great variety of things to do if you're not interested in spending the day on rides.
Negatives - queuing was atrocious. Staff are clearly not very happy to be there and aren't very helpful. Everything is so expensive. You have to pay for parking, which doesn't seem right.
“Is Thorpe Park really giving up and…
“Is Thorpe Park really giving up and letting go” Will there even be a park in couple of years!
BEWARE!! No staff!! Every ride is closed or shut down constantly!! Worrying! Staff would rather feed each other for free than serve the customers! Que jumping is apparently allowed these days!! No customer service! Myself and a friend were given fast tract tickets instead of a refund after being in the park all day till 15:00 and being on 2 rides due to constant break downs. When we finally got fast track they let all the normal que fill up the lines first while staff just talked amongst themselves while ignoring the fast track!! Guess what!! It was too late to go on anything else by the time we got to the front! I explained to the lady my situation and how we just wanted one good memory!! Sorry nothing we can do! Desensitised kids with no humanity and section / shift managers who obviously don’t care and letting the park suffer!
What happened?? Why is this world giving up on teaching these kids respect and honesty!
No soap in the bathrooms or watery!! Excuse from staff member! “Sorry the soaps have been empty for a couple of weeks!! The managers just telling us that they will get back to us”
We gave up and sat in the bar and we were given plastic cups like children!
I remember a world where theme parks were fun but now an absolute nightmare!!
I used to visit these parks as a kid but now I think after a day of stress and having to pay £12 for parking which was never ever a thing before!! I think it’s just a money pit of greed! I feel sorry for this world allowing technology and a chance for a world to come off their phones and enjoy themselves to just wanting to escape to never wanting to waste our time on Thorpe Park ever again!!
It’s in such a state there will never be a day going forward that it will get better!! Who ever is at the top needs to take notice and save what’s left of the world that they should be proud of and not hiding on their yachts!! Not allowing it all to be destroyed!!
Sometimes the more you put in the more you get out but in this case the more you take out and replace will mean allowing a better chance!! Such a Shame!
Managed to get on 2 rides in 7 hours
Managed to get on 2 rides in 7 hours! 2 hour queues for each ride, that when we got to the front of the queues the rides broke down. Stealth broke before we got on, when we were on it (during which time they moved the ride backwards and forwards with us still on it to try and work out what was wrong with it) and the ride after we were on it. Same experience with Colossus, breaking down so we could not get on after a 2 hour queue. We told to leave the rides as we don't know how long it would be to fix them. They sell far too many tickets so the queues are ridiculous and rides are not fit for purpose to run. If you want to waste money and queue all day for an ultimate disappointment then go ahead!
Disaster Park!
**Review: Thorpe Park Disaster**
Date of Visit: Today (had to leave at 13:27)
Our visit to Thorpe Park today was an utter nightmare from start to finish. We had to leave early because it was simply unbearable.
1. The queues were outrageously long. We waited for 2 hours at Colossus despite being told it would be a 20-minute wait. The ride broke down, and the engineering team’s response was slow and lackadaisical, making the experience even worse. We ended up leaving at 13:30 because it was just too outrageously busy.
2. Despite having a parking ticket, we were required to pay for parking again. We tried to resolve this by calling at 09:30, but spent an hour on the phone without any help. We had the same issue yesterday, and still, no one could be bothered to assist us.
3.The park itself was extremely dirty. Trash was everywhere, and it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority.
4. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. When I broke my foot and went to guest services, they merely told me to follow the usual queueing process, which was difficult and painful. The staff did not care and were even abusive, particularly Glen at Saw, who was exceptionally rude and unprofessional at 13:02.
Overall, this was a horrendous experience. The park management needs to address these serious issues to prevent other guests from having such a terrible time. We will not be returning and strongly advise others to avoid this park until significant improvements are made.
Medical grounds
I won't be able to attend thorpe park, due to medical grounds,so I am asking for refund,if no refund is given, then unfortunately,I will leave a another bad review
Appalling customer service - feels like they have given up
Booking portal for friends and family didn't work. Got charged £22 extra on the day.
Queued for an hour whilst the school trips went straight in.
Got on four rides all day the queues were so bad.
Complained to customer service on way out who can't even be bothered to talk to you - the young people who man the desk have no communication skills and just give you a piece of paper with customer service email address.
Tried for two weeks now to get a refund for the extra I paid as I sent them proof their portal wasn't working. But they keep coming back every few days asking the questions as clearly they have no intention of helping.
I love the park but its a rip off now and unless there's a massive infra structure change and they revamp their customer service I won't be wasting my hard earned money there.
Not going back
What a pity we cannot give a zero rating therefore have grudgingly given a one star. Went there 6 July 2024 and after a very wet drive the sun did come out amid heavy showers. There were not many areas where you could shelter from the rain either. Party of 4 - two teens, one wheelchair- bound adult and me - 78. Access for disabled wasn’t too bad as didn’t have to queue much. Not sure what if would be like on a very busy day as the weather on this day would have put many off. Thorpe Park is definitely not wheelchair friendly once you get in though. The first thing you encounter having passed through the entry process is a bridge with an incline. The ground walking round the Park is very uneven and ridges between ground surfaces necessitated my daughter in the wheelchair having to walk for short periods which was very difficult for her. The whole place looks tired, outdated and generally rundown. Difficult to find anywhere other than KFC to get anything resembling a coffee. The ‘Dome’ could be put to far better use than it currently is. It’s a total waste of space. A soft lounge area for exhausted adults to wait for children just for starters. We went to the car to get a comfortable seat. As it is, just a few hard seats at a ‘Costa’ and some tables adjacent to the bar. Plus the young girl at Costa, when asked for a Chai Latte, questioned if I wanted coffee in it! Fast food bars in the Dome would be a winner for people wanting a bite before the journey home. You rather get the impression that Merlin have given up on it.
Not friendly towards people with a disability
The staff were unhelpful, unapproachable, unfriendly, not attentive to the needs of an autistic person, and the park is poorly signposted and very disorganised (with queues and signposting). The booking system for the fast track pass is very unclear - if you do not pre-book a psss, they will not let you have one at customer services even if you show them your pre-exisitng card to prove your disability. Staff need educating on supporting customers with a disability.
Thorpe Park First Time experience
I went to Thorpe Park today with my parents because it was my birthday, inset day and first time. We used fast track queues because we were allowed, meaning we could get through the queues quicker than some others around us. I overall had a very good experience despite a few things, but very little. Some of the staff didn't seem very professional and a bit bland, not really excited, I mean it is Thorpe Park so what's not to like? You can't help the queues right?, but in this case, one of the rides, a slide, wasn't very long, we queued up (cause for this one, there was NO fast track entrance) and it took about a total of 40 minutes or more for a 3 second ride, like WTH? I wouldn't go on that for a while if you ask me. My dad was absolutely petrified on the Colossus, which was so fun, there however was a mini delay for about 15 minutes so they needed to get an engineer which didn't take long. They tried they're hardest which I respect, but they kinda stalled it a bit to be quite frank. We hopped on with everyone for that at the time and we were asked to get of because of it, quite a bit of shenanigans. The food at lunch was quite good, we went to one of the places and the food was amazing, which you wouldn't expect, we had Burger and Chips and for me with a Slushy, the staff really welcoming and the gentleman who brought and collected our food was quite witty and funny, did his job well. I want to briefly explain my experience after lunch for the ride called 'Ghost Train' and they tried to make it scary, but honestly it was quite naff and boringly cringeworthy. I would give the intro at best the scariest. We were barely moving on the train itself and the lights would be on for a second and then the next second it was like cringy Drama Class. We stopped and then walked to the room where a guy was talking about the death of stuff which was of course fake, it was ok but weird and odd, quite a boring experience. It was a really nice day anyway and enjoyed 'Bumpy Cars' one of the rides and I would get in one, put a safety thing over me, don't know what the thought process was there Thorpe, but ok, I guess. It was a small short period with the bell ringing and then stopping 3 minutes later, like come on, it's fun, we want longer please? And also, I would start when it rang and I would steer the wheel like an actual human being and then I would be stuck and just be going round and round in circles, like I literally and physically couldn't do anything about it, I shouted it and the staff man, didn't do anything about it even though there was a car in front of me that no one was in but fine, I guess. Anyway, despite some of this it was really good and a fun day, I think it is a recommendation for risk takers and fun people and riders. I think you should bring your friends with you if you want some people, not matter your age, though there is a height notification to warn some who haven't been there. As you know, this is a personal experience and opinion.
Happy Happy nice...😉
Had the best day here with my family
Had the best day here with my family, we can't wait to go back.

Firstly, let me start off by saying the park and rides are fantastic and arguably the best place to visit for thrill seekers.
However, there were a couple drawbacks. One of which myself and others to be discriminating. After parking and heading in to the queue, we were directed to the security checks, the people in front were caucasian, myself and the group I was with are people of colour including caucasian. The people in front were wearing metal buckled belts and jewellery. They get beeped as they go through but the kid who was doing the security’s checks who has what can only be described as an attempted Jack Grealish haircut, just waves them past and saids “Its the belts”.
My caucasian friend is waved through despite having a metal belt buckle on, nose rings and metal bracelet. They were also waves through.
When it was my turn and my group we emptied all our stuff into the basket and got beeped because of my belt, immediately he says remove your belt, which I did. I tell him I have on stainless steel earrings too and he says remove those also. Everyone in my groups were asked to remove their belts and jewellery. We all go through and he’s there giggling as we walk through one by one. Then the people behind us who are also caucasian, wearing nose rings, belts and tons of jewellery. He lets them through. How do you even explain that?
Entering the park is lovely, everything is within walking distance. The rides were fantastic however, we did witness one person who able to fit in to the ride it was just slightly tight fit this time around, he told the TP worker that he had been on this ride before to which she rudely just said “Tell me when. When did you go on this ride? When?” In an absolutely horrid attitude. We just looked on as she waved her colleague to help push the harness down despite it fitting and buckle going in.
Food is limited, we decided to eat at KFC and as we are eating the cleaners begin cleaning under our table, brushing against our shoes mid eating. Out of respect for them doing their job we waved it off. But, At least allow us to finish our food and dispose of our rubbish before cleaning. It’s just a bit rude.
Upon leaving (left at closing time) , we went the wrong direction while in the park to which the security guard literally screamed with tears in his eyes and foam at the corner of his lip as if he was a drill sergeant trying to make a point “TURN BACK NOW. TURN AROUND AND TO GO TO THE BACK. NOW. NOW”. Just such an extreme overreaction, he could have just said “Exits that way” and pointed where to go..
I would come back again but I really think a review needs to be put in place. Also, a friendly reminder to workers that are on cleaning duty to allow people to finish eating before they start sweeping under your table and spraying chemicals on the table beside you.
Great place to visit, it just needs an internal review and standards raised. As well certain members of staff having a reality check and fixing their attitude.
Overall, the rides are great, atmosphere is lively and the place is a lot fun.
Beware - Island Guarantee Return
Zero customer service - return guarantee (no guarantee!!)
Went to Fright nights 21st Oct 2023 as a group of four. Heavy rain most of the day and very long queues meant we only got on 4 rides all day. We were relieved when they announced we would get a free return ticket under their rainy day policy. Beware - the island return guarantee tickets are not guaranteed. We booked a return date online, took a day off work, drove 3 hrs, queuing for an hour to get through security checks only to find out from Customer Services the return tickets for some bizarre reason would not be accepted.we considered putting hand in pocket and buying tickets to avoid a wasted trip but at this point we’d already lost 2 hours queuing/ trying to get customer service to help. We clearly weren’t getting anywhere, shocking customer service - decided to drive away. Extremely disappointing and will not be returning.
