Not having a good experience

Not having a good experience. I lost my one and only operating key fob. I emailed the company to make sure they were able to create a key for me and I was told that they could do so without any pictures of the key and just proof of registration. I specified over three times that I did not have a working key currently and I cannot take a picture of a key because of that. I submitted three pictures of proof of registration as advised to complete the picture requirements. Now, after I have already made my order, they are telling me processing cannot move forward until they have pictures of the key that I have consistently stated I don’t have. $58 for wasted time and for my vehicle to sit idle while I have to push important things back further and further because this company does not operate efficiently. I am hoping I end up speaking to someone in customer service who knows what they are talking about & this order is processed sooner rather than later. Process wise I would not be returning myself or recommending any friends of family a local locksmith may have costed more but I’d pay for convenience and clarity gladly.

To clarify, the initial guidance you received came from our AI assistant. While it correctly stated that vehicle registration is required for verification, it unfortunately did not distinguish that our Key-By-Photo service specifically requires a photo of an existing working key, something you clearly and repeatedly stated you no longer had. We fully recognize that this created confusion and unnecessary delay, and we sincerely apologize.

When your case reached our human support team, we should have recognized immediately that the AI had provided incorrect information and that your earlier messages were sent from a different email address than the one used for the order. That oversight is on us, and we are taking this as a learning opportunity to improve our internal processes and AI accuracy.

As a small, family-owned business, we genuinely strive to provide honest, affordable DIY solutions, and it was never our intention to mislead or cause inconvenience. Once we realized the error, we moved quickly to cancel and refund your order in full under our money-back guarantee, as continuing the process would not have resulted in a usable key for you.

We fully respect your feedback and understand your decision not to return as a customer. In your situation, having lost your only working key, the best and most reliable option is indeed your dealership or a local locksmith who can originate a key without an existing reference.

Twice i have been sent the wrong part

Twice i have been sent the wrong part. So i will have to get on the phone once again and then mail the wrong part back.Customer service is nice enough but obviously either a glitch in your packing department or someone doesn't look at part numbers. I have tried to be nice but and if you send me another part I am betting it will be wrong again and this will have turned into about 4 weeks of mishap.

Great product, Amazing Customer Service

If this review was only based on the program dongle, it would be 5 stars, however I wish I could give Tom's customer service 10 stars. They were so courteous and helpful that it actually surprised me. It has been quite awhile since I had such a good customer experience.

No return slip included to return the…

No return slip included to return the programmer. So I inquired and they emailed me one and said the post office just needs to scan it. This was good news as I do not have a printer. The USPO would will not scan a return slip unless it has a QR code. Why they sent me a return slip without a QR code is beyond me. Had to then go to the public library to print it, then back to the post office. Took 1.5 hours (I live in the city). I request a $20 refund. They offered a $10 refund but would not budge on increasing it to $20. They claimed they didn't know a QR code was needed. Well it is their business to know. I debugged the problem and informed them of their misunderstanding. They were defensive saying the post office changed their policy. Which is not the issue, it is their job to have the return experience as described when I purchased the product. Extremely disappointed. I have multiple keys to be done but will go elsewhere, and will advise family and friends to go elsewhere.

Look no where else...

If anyone is looking for an extra/ replacement car key, they shouldn't look elsewhere. I am extremely satisfied with the quality, precision and customer support service. The programming was straightforward and easy with the instructions provided.

The Key to my Experience

The key to my positive experience was the communication with those at Tom's Key Company.
They were always there. When I sent a message, they replied as if they knew me and my concern regarding the key to my car. I will always be grateful for being heard and helped by the personnel at Tom's Key Company. They were the key to my wanting to return if I need another key.

Don’t buy for this Company

This Company is USELESS IF THERE IS A PROBLEM THERE IS NO TECH SUPPORT YOU TALK TO AN AI BOT THAT DOESN’T forward info about problem no one has return my call from TOMS KEY COMPANY!!!!! Also the APP “Pair My Key” tech support is take battery cable off for 10 seconds and try again, which I did three times then they told me that TOMS Key Company is at fault by sending me bad items. Just want to return everything since it doesn’t work without paying 15 dollars to return my whole order this has been going on for over 2 working days with no return calls!!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!

I bought a Toyota truck recently and it had only one key fob. I called the local dealer and they quoted me about $400 to provide a second key. So I called a local mobile automotive locksmith and was quoted over $500 for a single key fob. I found Tom's Key Company on the internet. I was able to have my key reproduced using a photograph of my existing key sent via email. The key required some programming too. Toms sent me the already laser cut key, the programming device and easy, very specific instructions on how to do the programming. I followed tbe instructions and it worked perfectly. Beware of transponder key

After weeks of trying to get a key that will program and start my 2018 Tahoe , they continue to give me the run around as to why it will not work with my vehicle, they ask for videos, like I can’t figure out how to make it work , bottom line is they can’t provide the product they state will work, now they expect me to pay for their lack of knowledge, having to dispute my charge at this time , Very disappointing

Top Notch Customer Service

Ran into an issue with my key and customer support was quick to resolve the issue. They emailed actual helpful responses instead of canned emails that don't address your concern. Its obvious they have real people responding to inquiries and I'm very thankful.

Key Fob is Great!

The key fob was correct for my vehicle, 2007 Tundra SR5. Tom's answered my questions and were very helpful. I elected to have Pop-A-Lock do the fob programming. Works like a champ!

I was trying to use a promo code and…

I was trying to use a promo code and for whatever reason, it did not work. I called customer service and they were able to place my order. I received my “vintage” physical key fob (old tech seems to be better in avoiding the growing high-tech thefts of vehicles with keyless systems), had it cut for $10, followed the instructions and inserted the key programmer into my OBD-II slot, and 10 minutes later removed the key and it worked! I was able to remove the MyKey settings that I had actually put on both my other keys (where all the buttons stopped working, even with fresh batteries). Thanks for saving me a few hundred dollars!

IM DEFINITELY A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE @TOMS KEYS!

First off the website is extremely USER FRIENDLY!!! And honestly it couldn't get more easy if they tried! Every item I looked for was in stock and ready to be made custom! And we can't forget "snap a key" Snap a few pictures of your key and BINGO! A spare key cut exactly the same as your original! For questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact their amazing customer service TEAM! IVE always got fast and curtious response, and solutions to any questions I may have had!! To good to be true, hands down! The
people at Tom's Keys definitely have a customer for LIFE!!!!

An Excellent Experience!!!

Everything from the time I ordered the product through the process of programming my key was handled perfectly. I received constant updates on the status and shipment. I had a bit of trouble with the initial confirmation process and emailed the company. Within two minutes I received a response with troubleshooting options. I proceeded with the process and it worked great! Very happy with this experience and it saved me a lot of money. I would highly recommend their services/product.
