We booked a private tour with Tom. He showed us the real Netherlands, not the touristy places everyone knows about. I told him what I wanted and he made the tour perfect for us. I requested to see dikes, Freisien horses, and windmills. And, of course, tulips. He explained the history of Amsterdam, how the windmills pump water, and how tulips are farmed. His tour was the absolute highlight of my trip to Amsterdam, We were able to be right by the fields and see the beautiful countryside and little towns. Tom is a professional photographer and helped us get good photos. I highly recommend his tour. Five Star!

Tom is not only an incredibly talented photographer, but also a fascinating person who has traveled to over 100 countries. His experience, knowledge, and storytelling made the entire experience even more special. His stories were captivating, and you can really feel his passion for photography and travel.

The tour itself was beautifully organized, and Tom guided us to stunning tulip fields while helping us capture amazing photos. It was both inspiring and enjoyable from start to finish.

It was a true pleasure meeting him and photographing alongside someone with such depth of experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience in the Netherlands.

We had a wonderful tour of Amsterdam and of the Bastogne area from two of Tom's guides: Hilbert and Stan. They were excellent: helpful, friendly, informative, and very personable. Our father served in Bastogne and we wanted to get as close to where he served as possible. Tom's Travel Tours Guide worked with us, took our research, married that with his own, to create an amazing and impactful visit to the Battle. Our Itinerary was specific to our Fathers service, his specific battle group, and what his war experience must have been. If you want a partner in eaching your history they are the ones.

We could not have been happier with our time in Amsterdam, thanks to Tom's
Travel Tours. We spent 8 hours with Ingrid visiting 2 museums, and having a very comprehensive tour of the center city of Amsterdam. She was also excellent at keeping us from being hit by bicycles! Her process for touring the museums was so much better than stopping and reading every placard, and made us appreciate our 2 museums so much more than we ever have before. She found us a wonderful lunch spot, and a great doughnut shop for a late afternoon refuel. She left us at the Anne Frank Museum with great advice about how long to spend there and what to expect to see.
At 7 p.m., We were picked up by Kiek on a vintage Notary boat. It had beautiful wood paneling with a table and padded seats. We were served yummy pizzas that we had given preferences for, and a lovely bottle of champagne. We spent 1 and 1/2 hours cruising the canals and learning more about the city from our boat captain. When you are limited by time, you want to get the most bang for your money and we certainly were extremely happy to have gotten both of our guides for our first day in Amsterdam. They were extremely knowledgeable about so many aspects of the city and its history. We never felt hurried and always were aware of our guides ability to know when to move along. It was a very fulfilling day for both of us and can't think of anything we would have changed about it.
Our second day was spent with our guide Julia, who picked us up at the hotel at 9 a.m. and drove us out of the city to a lovely village, outside of the city center. It was hard to believe we were only 20 minutes from the hotel in the quaint village. It was so quiet and the houses we so pretty! After exploring , we went on to a Gouda cheese and wooden clog business. The owners make the cheese and clogs on site. They also have a sail boat that is shaped like a clog but has ice skate blades to be used on frozen canals in the winter. Next, we drove to Marken and learned about the dike that was built to make Marken accessible by car. We enjoyed exploring the town and seeing a villagers house and clothing from the past. We had some excellent hot chocolate before heading to Zaanse Schans to see several windmills. Unfortunately, I realized I had left my purse in the Hot Chocolate restaurant in Marken! Julia was so gracious about going back to retrieve it. She called them immediately to make sure they had it and let them know we were on our way. After we returned to Marken she took us to an actual working Windmill that controls water level in a canal. The man who gave us a private guided tour was so knowledgeable about how the mill worked and showed us all of the different levels of the windmill. It was absolutely fascinating to see. We really appreciated seeing that so much more than Zaanse Schans.
We highly recommend Tom's Travel Tours! It may be more expensive than some of the group tours out there, but the ability to choose what you want to see rather than a preset agenda is so worth it to us. We told the company what we were interested in and they came up with an itinerary. We went back and forth a few times, just tweaking some of the places and times, but the outcome was perfect for us, and they were so accommodating!

I used Tom’s team for multiple destinations in Amsterdam and Belgium. Every single person was knowledgable and wonderful to be with. I travel with my 21 year old son who has autism, and their compassion towards him and desire to engage him to ensure he had a great time, meant everything to us.

Both the tours I took were outstanding. Ingrid is an expert in art history. She made both the Van Gough and Rijksmuseum come alive for me. I spent 4 happy hours seeing the art, the times, and the artists more deeply.
Chris gave me a whole day in the Dutch countryside. We picnicked outside a windmill after taking as long as I wanted to explore the engineering in detail, saw gorgeous fields of tulips, watched artisans make cheese and talked with one of the last hand carvers of wooden shoes. We toured fishing villages, and chatted with a lute and guitar repairman. They both focused on my interests, slowing down to bubble over with information and joy about travel, history, art, engineering and music. Tom’s Tours are like visiting enthusiastic and knowledgeable friends who share their city. Highlight of my trip.

My wife and I booked a private three-day Full Amsterdam and Dutch Countryside Experience with guides Esther and Timm and a private canal tour with Captain Wim. Each tour went smoothly and was fantastic. Generally, my wife and I are not big tour people; however, this was by far the best experience we have ever had. Each guide was knowledgeable, provided us with the history, and pointed out things we would have missed independently. We always felt comfortable and could do things at our own pace. Again, everything felt so relaxed and natural, and everyone was super friendly. Each person was genuinely sincere and honestly enjoyed being a guide. Likewise, Tom and his team answered all our questions, and the booking process was seamless. Thanks again, Tom and team, for providing such an enjoyable part of our vacation!

Professional, on time, a wealth of knowledge,. It was the highlight of our trip. I will never forget being able to experience the Netherlands, so close to what makes it famous. Standing in the famous tulip fields, working in the cheese room with the farmer, and sitting by the water where Napoleon ships had once docked.

We had planned a trip to Amsterdam, but I hadn’t realized early enough that I needed to pre-purchase tickets for the Van Gogh Museum. Tom was able to find us some tickets for the exact day and time I needed even though the museum was sold out. We really enjoyed our visit to the Van Gogh Museum. Thank you, Tom!!!

Tom’s tours was great. I usually book things on my own but in Amsterdam it was very difficult. Tom made things seamless. His tours were set up amazingly well. He arranged any extra site and filled in anyway every nook and cranny as we requested. we had a great time in Amsterdam all secondary to Tom tour. Can’t say enough.
