It works!

This device has helped so much with my snoring and sleep apnea. My snoring had gotten so bad that my partner and I started sleeping in different rooms. We are now back to sleeping in the same room and they don't wake up anymore. I recommend this to anyone suffering from snoring and sleep apnea.

I have just completed the 6 week phase


I have just completed the 6 week phase of every day use. One thing that’s for sure is I no longer dream that I’ve stopped breathing and I only need to get up once in the night if at all. The reason for taking a star away is to make any new patients aware of the ongoing costs. The mouthpiece needs replacing every 3 months. It has a chip in it and has electrodes, meaning that it is not cheap. Given the recent increase in price, you’re looking at an extra £240 a year on top of the initial device cost. That said, can you put a price on a good night’s sleep??? I hope they develop cheaper/longer lasting mouthpieces in the future.

No improvement after 6 months use

I have been using the device for near 6 months daily (missed a few days). I have had no improvement in snoring or with my apnoea events being reduced. My recent sleep study and apnoea events report show no improvement whatsoever, so the device isn't delivering what it claims.

I decided to stick with it and happy to carry on for a year and see what happens, however today was the last straw. I went to use the device and it would not work as it says I need a new mouth piece, which I was told needs replacing after 90 days of use. I only got 45 days of use with the latest mouth piece and the app won't work unless I purchase another. The price of the mouth piece has increased recently.

The initial cost of the device and the limited use of the mouth piece requiring repurchase every few months makes this an expensive solution, which has no guarantee of working.

This is my experience and I would have been happy to keep using the device if I wasn't cheated on the use of the mouth piece.

AVOID eXciteOSA- Deceptive Medical Practices

AVOID buying this product. The company does not inform you that they "LOCK YOU OUT" of the service after 90 days unless you repurchase another mouthpiece for $150 after having one that is already in perfect condition. When this is brought to their attention they claim it is part of their FDA approval process and then customer services stops responding. It is obvious these mouthpieces last significantly longer than 90 days. Just a blatant reoccurring revenue strategy that costs their customers an additional $600 annually.

This device has been a lifesaver

This device has been a lifesaver. I had tried the mouth guard and the CPAP machine and could never get enough sleep. I started with eXciteOSA 99 weeks ago and have noticed that I do not just wake up 3 or 4 times for no reason in the night, I am more rested than with the other devices. I love the fact that It fits in my backpack when I travel. Nothing but great things to say.

Sleeping Better Than Ever Now

I’ve been a poor sleeper for as long as I can remember, waking up one or two times during the night and waking up early, so only 4-5 hours sleep per night. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and dreaded having to wear a CPAP machine, which my husband uses. I was eager to try ExciteOSA. It’s been very easy to use it daily and I finished the 6 weeks of treatment and am now on twice weekly management. Already, I’ve noticed that I’m sleeping much more soundly and haven’t woken up during the night. I’m regularly getting 7-8 hours of sleep and even one night with 9 hours. It’s making a real difference in my not having headaches from lack of sleep. I also feel like my memory is improving now that I’m better processing my day’s activities.

Save your money!

I purchased this device as I had read research that eluded to electrical stimulation of the tongue helping reduce sleep apnea. The hardware is pricey, but it seemed full of promise, so I bought in... I couldn't possibly be more disappointed, and before I go on, SAVE YOUR MONEY.

So what happened? I started using the product, but no one warns you (not clearly) that the electrical stimulation sends your saliva glands into overdrive, and initially I was prepared to deal with the discomfort and salivation. However, a lump appeared under my tongue and I became worried. I went to the doctor and they told me I had a blocked gland, but it would not reduce and kept getting bigger. It then dawned on me that the only thing that had changed was the eXciteOSA device being used nightly.

Whilst all this was going on I had been using the app and was frustrated with the connectivity issues, and the spooky emails that would be sent to me about use. It wasn't recording every time I used it, so I was also receiving emails about doing it more regularly! The first four sessions didn't register, and that frustrated me as this program is recorded to track your progress.

Because of the swollen gland I stopped using the device and I told eXciteOSA. They asked me for my doctors report! Of course, I did not have one, the Dr couldn't be certain that the device had caused the problem, but the over stimulation of the gland certainly had a causal relationship with the problem. Alas, over eight weeks the gland returned to normal, but that was me done.

I left it a few months and decided to give it another go (rose tinted glasses and all that)... I activated it to receive a warning telling me that the device was over a certain number of months old and must be replaced! In short, this was programmed obsoletion, because it had hardly been used, it was as good as new, nothing wrong with it, but the app must link a serial number to a time period and then you are forced to by a new mouth insert - regardless of how much it has actually been used. Terrible for your wallet, terrible for mother earth with these unnecessary replacements!

In short, this was an expensive waste of money. Avoid.

Also... their default response to similar feedback is almost the same! It shows that they give very little genuine concern to those running into the programmed obsolescence of their products, or to the harm such a policy has on the planet in the long run.

We are sorry to hear of your experience with the eXciteOSA. We take all feedback extremely seriously and the only way we can establish what happened is to receive all the information available from yourself and the doctor.

We appreciate the frustration with the mouthpiece replacement every 90 days, but unfortunately as part of our regulatory approval as a class II medical device we need to abide by international standards for safety and functional performance. Once the mouthpiece is exposed to oxygen and saliva (enzymes and other biological materials) that starts the degradation of the surface electrodes. As per our testing to the 10993 international standard for biocompatibility (recognised by the FDA and UK's MHRA) we were required to limit the use of the mouthpiece to 90 days from first use.

We take the safe performance of our device very seriously and will always follow what is best practice for testing to demonstrate that the eXciteOSA is a low-risk device with considerable benefits to our patient's quality of sleep and quality of life.

I was diagnosed with moderate to severe


I was diagnosed with moderate to severe sleep apnea. My doctor recommended CPAP but I wanted to try the eXcite device first. I just completed the initial six week therapy and it has reduced my snoring. I'm going to continue daily treatment and continue to monitor my snoring (using the Sleep Cycle app which listens for and records snoring).

I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea


I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea in January. My doctor prescribed ExciteOSA. My husband started seeing improvement in my snoring after only one week of using the device. I also wear a FitBit watch and my app is telling me that I don't wake up in the night as much as I used to. It has been almost 3 months since I began treatment and I still use the device about 5 times a week.

I found the customer service to be helpful. At one point I felt like my device wasn't working properly because the exercises felt "too easy". I scheduled a teleheath visit to discus the issue and the customer service representative said there was probably build-up on the mouthpiece, He suggested that I scrub the mouthpiece with a clean toothbrush and water. (Previously I was only rinsing it.) That fixed the problem immediately.

Device works great

I've been using this device for 3 months now. I noticed a drastic improvement in my sleep after only one week. It was literally amazed that I could sleep so well for 7 to 8 hrs without waking up. The daily 20 mins daytime therapy for the initial 6 weeks was easy to do while watching TV. The app is easy to use and great for reminders, now that I am on the twice a week schedule.
Prior to this treatment I was using a CPAP machine and mask for 1-1/2 yrs. I could only keep my mask on for 1 to 4 hrs because I tried but could not adjust to the mask and pressure. I different machine settings and masks but just could not make it work for me.
exciteOSA has changed my life all for the better. I hope research continues to improve the device and help many more people sleep better in the future.

The device quit charging after about


The device quit charging after about nine months. To keep up with the therapy we'd have to buy a new device. It's too costly if it has to be constantly replaced. It's already expensive enough with the quarterly charges.

Doctor recommended and field proven

My doctor recommended this as a new procedure for my sleep apnea, and I really didn’t like the idea of an apparatus (CPAP) strapped to my head while I slept, so I was willing to try it out. And I figured for 20 minutes per evening while watching the nightly news, when I probably wasn’t talking anyway, I could give it a try. So here I am, a year later, with my 20 years of snoring and sleep apnea all but gone! I still snore a little bit every once in awhile, like after a really hard day or while sleeping on my back sometimes, but a little snoring once or twice a month is way better than being asked to roll over several times per night by my wife that I was keeping awake. And the 24 hour customer service has been awesome, just in case you have an issue with the unit transmitting to your phone sometimes (which ended up being a Bluetooth phone issue). I highly recommend this low impact, low invasion, highly effective device!

So I've been using eXciteOSA

So I've been using eXciteOSA, for a couple of months now, and I have to say that it seems to be really helping me. You have to stay with the device and us it everyday, as much as possible. I do my 20 minute treatment, everyday around the same time. Ive tried CPAP and every mouthpiece and nose piece available. But this is the only device that seems to help. Thank you so much!!

Miracle product

I have been using Excite OSA for over 2 years now and it is a fantastic product. It has reduced sleep apnea episodes and brought down my AHI to 5.5. I am able to sleep much longer and get refreshing sleep. All it takes 20 minutes of therapy twice a week. I highly recommend this to everyone who is suffering from mild sleep apnea.

Easy to use and easy on you

The device is very easy to use and consistently works well with the recent updates to the user interface. It is very effective once you get to the maintenance intensity level. I would definitely use this over any device you have to wear while sleeping, given it’s only a 20 minute investment of time 2 days a week and you can be watching tv or working on your computer while doing the therapy.
