I needed a storage unit on short notice and thought this company sounded great. Available at short notice, cheap rates, cancel at any time with 14 days notice. It was a great company until I cancelled.
I put in my 2 weeks notice, called on the day we moved out and was told the account would be closed. GREAT. Three days later, and I've just been charged for another month of rent. I'm now in overdraft and can't afford to get to work.
Spent an hour on the phone, with multiple staff, who all said it would take up to a week before they can issue a refund. Several staff hung up on me because there's "nothing we can do". I called back to speak to a manager, and was told I couldn't, then got put on hold for 15 mins. Took 7 calls to get put through to a manager who also said there's nothing they can do.
If you're late paying rent, you get late fees. But they take as long as they want to refund YOUR money.
I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN ABSOLUTE THEFT.

Our direct debits are applied for 3 working-days in advance, and so the charge you are seeing has been authorised by your bank; however, the funds have not yet been received into our business account and are not showing on our system. Until the payment has fully processed and appears on our side, we are unable to issue a refund, as there must be a completed transaction for us to credit it back to you.
As soon as the payment clears into our account, we will process the refund immediately. Your contact with a member of management has already confirmed this and will continue to monitor your account until the balance is returned to you. Please kindly note it may take up to 4 working days for the payment to clear into our account.
We understand how inconvenient this is, and we are doing everything we can to resolve it as quickly as possible. If you need any further assistance in the meantime, please feel free to contact us directly. Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Beware their 'insurance' policies as they are not actually insurance. (you cannot access your locker without it)
Beware their 'insurance' policies as they are not covered by the FSC, and they change policies without telling you.
We took out insurance with UK storage when we moved in - you have to show proof of your own insurance or use their policy or they won't let you access your locker.
After trying to claim due to vermin infestation and damage (now 8 months into the claim) we have been told the insurance policy we took out was changed to a limited liability policy with a company called storeprotect. We were not notified of this (they say they emailed us but we never received anything).
The store protect policy isn't covered by the FSA and isn't really worth having as they then employ a company called questgates to make it is a difficult as possible to claim for anything. It is not an insurance policy despite me having an email from when we moved in saying I was paying for insurance.
