Kelvin from UPLIFT

About a month ago, I moved into a new studio where the previous tenant had left behind a standing desk I thought was broken. I figured I needed a new control box, so I reached out to UPLIFT and got connected with Kelvin Bui. He helped me troubleshoot it, and it turned out to be something simple, just the power cable.

I’d never had a standing desk before, so he walked me through how everything works and even pointed out features I didn’t know about, like extending the frame or swapping out the desktop. That alone was super helpful.

I called back again today because I wanted to upgrade the desktop from 48" to 60". Kelvin helped break down the different wood options, how they’re made and finished, and even sent photos of samples so I could actually see what they look like.

I ended up going with a 60" x 30" acacia butcher block, and I’m really looking forward to it. The extra space and the wood finish are going to fit my studio perfectly. Overall, just a really solid experience.

Uplift Support team goes above and beyond!!

I purchased my Uplift desk 5 years ago and this week, I had an issue that required me to call your support team for assistance. Kelvin Bui went above and beyond with his support and assistance! He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, is an excellent communicator as he walked me through multiple trouble shooting attempts to fix my issue (texts, instructions, pictures) and he was able to identify my issue with confidence. He really understands what customer support means and he represents your company well. Thanks for a great experience Kelvin. I will continue to recommend Uplift desks not just because you have great products but because you stand behind them in a way that so many other companies today do not. Kudos to Kelvin on a job well-done!

Quick And Reponsive Warranty Service

Their warranty form didn't work so I emailed them directly close to end of business on a Friday and Jose E. emailed me back in less than 24 hours, on a Saturday no less. My Steelcase Gesture seat has started to crack 9 years after purchase. I had a few rounds of follow ups for required photos of the manufacturer's label and progress reports and we were done.

The warranty replacement was already approved on Tuesday. Jose made everything quick and painless; they were courteous, respectful, and attentive. I even asked about purchasing a stool conversion for my chair and he was kind enough to pass that along. I was informed that it would void the warranty on that part, though, so I declined.

All-in-all a great experience. I'd recommend them with confidence to anyone with a home office in need of equipment.

Defective product and poor customer service

I purchased a standing desk with four legs for over $1,000. The desk arrived with both cable management holes covered by the leg assemblies and the cable management tray doesn't fit due to the under-desk frame. Two first design flaws affecting usability. Customer service never admitted fault and offered me a $50 gift card then offered to sell me a bigger desk top. Overall, a terrible experience. I really expected more from a company selling such a pricey product. They basically told me to deal with it and never tried to help.

Good desk - Bad company/accessories

The experience with them has generally been fine. Their desks are great, though pricy. Their accessories are also pricy, but much less amazing.

My main issue with them is I've reviewed items and the reviews don't show up on their website. Absolutely shady behavior and immediate red flag with any company.

I had the absolute worst experience


I had the absolute worst experience with this company. The standing desk converter did not work -- the keyboard holder bounced with each use, making the monitory blurry and impossible to work. Delivery was 6 weeks delayed. When I went to return the item, they made me pay for my own shipping and materials -- which was the full cost of the item itself. Absolutely horrible, terrible company with poor products

Acacia desk damaged in transit; Uplift did nothing

I purchased the Acacia top standing desk. It must be quite soft wood because it arrived badly gashed on the front. The gashes are visible from the couch across the room. It looks terrible. Customer service offered no assistance, though clearly we did not cause the damage.

This was my 2nd desk from Uplift. The first one was laminate with Uptown Walnut finish. It was sturdier than the Acacia, but the color was uglier than online photos.

In spite of the convenience features, I will not purchase another Uplift product.

Good products, but serious fulfillment and resolution issues

Title: Solid product, but a painful fulfillment error and weak resolution

I’ve purchased from Uplift before and expected a smooth experience. This time was the opposite.

Uplift shipped a desk frame that did not match the configuration that was quoted and discussed. I assembled the frame assuming it was the correct item. Once it became clear it wasn’t, returning or exchanging it became its own major project involving disassembly, repackaging, and days of back-and-forth.

Uplift acknowledged the mistake, but their proposed resolution still required significant time and coordination on my part to undo their fulfillment error. Even after multiple days of emails, they resisted fully covering the real costs involved and did not offer meaningful consideration for the time and inconvenience incurred.

The hardware itself may be solid, but when something goes wrong, the process is slow, rigid, and places too much burden on the customer. For a premium-priced product, that’s disappointing.

I’m posting this as a caution to others: confirm every detail in writing, keep all correspondence, and be prepared to advocate hard if anything arrives incorrect.

Bad Customer Service (and a little overpriced)

Originally, this was going to be a 4 star review because the wood desk I ordered for $1500 is compressed particle, laminate “wood”.

But the 3 star comes from the bad customer service and their return policy. Some background, it took 13 emails to finally get uplift to send me the missing screws - I could not assemble the desk. Additionally, not all the boxes were delivered at the same day. There are a lot of boxes, and given the time of year, there’s already a lack of space to keep boxes (plus I’m not one to return something for buyers remorse - it’s either damaged or crapola). So I had everything out of the boxes and on the floor, waiting on the screws.

After finally receiving the screws, I assembled the desk and realized a few of the add-ons did not meet my build satisfaction. So I attempted to return those items and was informed they would not authorize a return because I don’t have the original packaging. I was advised to sell the items on a 3rd party platform.

Great customer service!

I forgot to add the free accessories to my desk order, and Akilah H responded to my inquiry immediately. She double-checked compatibility, added the right items to my order, and made the whole process effortless. Great customer service and genuinely helpful.

I was having trouble with the first motor

I was having trouble with the first motor that was sent with my desk that I purchased in March of 2925. No matter how many times I tried to reset it, it would malfunction and stop working.

About a month ago, I had enough. I called customer service and got Akilah, who coincidentally helped me with the issues I was having with the first motor. She advised me to file a warrant claim for a replacement, and walked me through the process. I received the replacement motor and installed it. I haven’t had any issues since. Thanks Akilah!!

On another note, the motor is poorly designed. I understand that a reset procedure is helpful, but to use it so many times and still not have the ability to raise and lower the desk suggests that construction and design of the motor is an issue that needs addressing. I give the motor one star

Customer service can't be beat

Customer service can't be beat. I placed my order and forgot to add the code for my free light. I contacted the company, and Kris R immediately got back to me and updated my order. Customer service is fantastic, and shipping was fast. I love my new desk. It's finally at the perfect height for my short frame.
