Easy, intuitive buying experience
The website is great: high-rez photos from every angle and detailed technical specs about the bikes. All of the information really gives you peace of mind about the bike you are buying. My eBike arrived quickly and packaged very well in an extremely sturdy box. Setup was easy. The bike is great and exactly as described (except for the number of battery cycles which was off slightly).
Great after-sale support
This was a very satisfactory purchase experience. My e-bike arrived with a damaged fork. While that was disappointing, Upway support worked hard to get me a replacement fork from the manufacturer quickly.
The only disappointment was that they missed their original delivery commitment by a substantial margin, so take the forecasted delivery date with a grain of salt. But once the bike finally arrives, they're great to deal with.
Great experience ordering online from Upway!
I am very happy with my purchase of a Gazelle Arroyo C8. The communication was timely and I received the bike a few days earlier than the projected delivery date. The shipping box included tools and instructions to adjust the handlebars and install the pedals. The battery was also fully charged, so I was able to ride right away. It is a beautiful bike! I was a bit apprehensive about buying from an online store, but it was great!
Gear train checks could be more thorough
The overall purchase process was smooth and the bike came quickly. Everything was as described. One issue is that the bike I bought was a 10 speed and all models have been 10 speeds ever since they started making it. It even says 10 speeds on the shifter. Upway listed it as 9 speeds and, indeed, it only could shift into 9 when it arrived. The derailleur was way out of adjustment and not working properly. This was not a big fix, but I'm curious why this slipped through Upway's checks. Surely they knew better than to just assume this was a 9 speed. It is almost like they didn't test it that well or didn't want to bother fixing it.

Good communication and answers to pre-sale questions. Great shipping, and the bike was easy to put together and the quality and condition of the bike were very accurate (and excellent).

Trouble with a 2024 Aventon Abound ebike from Upway
I bought a secondhand (2024) Aventon Abound AG cargo e-bike from Upway in December 2025. The price seemed fair given the age, low mileage, etc. But when I received & assembled the e-bike, it would NOT power up. I contacted Upway right away. Their communication was good throughout the process I'm describing here... However, Upway referred me to Aventon (the manufacturer), since it seemed like a mechanical problem. Upway promised to pay for any parts/repairs needed (assuming it would be fairly easy to get the bike going - which it turned out it wasn't). This process was confusing because for a time I was messaging Aventon customer service to troubleshoot the problem with the bike. (Though their service was good too.) I had to remove & replace the battery, test if it was charging correctly (it was), and send pics/videos to Aventon--they then mailed me a new display at no cost (the screen which goes on the handlebars, not the smaller controller with buttons). This caused a further delay because it took 1-2 weeks to come. And this didn't fix the problem. I could have returned the bike to Upway at this point - but it seemed easier to take it to a local dealer for repairs, which Upway promised to pay for. I live in Davis, CA, so the nearest dealer was a 30-minute drive away in Sacramento. (There is a closer one, but they said they don't do in-depth diagnoses.) This was a hassle, because although Upway did pay the repair/diagnostic bill (about $120), I had to make two round-trips hauling the bike there and back on different days--easily 4 hours of my time including driving, loading the bike in my car, talking with the dealer, phone calls... It couldn't be fixed easily, so it was a BAD unit despite its relatively new age. I returned it to Upway about 5-6 weeks after I first got it. They found me a newer Abound LR (2025) with only 3 miles on it to buy. Higher price by $200., but worth it. Again, Upway's customer service & communication were good. But it was a confusing process, and the various steps wasted a lot of my time. They could have given me more of a break, such reducing the cost of the newer unit to compensate for all the time / trips to the dealer etc. (I asked, but Upway said that price was firm, though they refunded the $99 shipping on the first unit). The new bike is great, though, after 2 mo. of use.

Communication has been great back and forth. I have received answers to battery questions on Saturdays. I realize these types of battery technical problems take time to resolve. I know my battery is on the way now and I’m still happy with my purchase. The technical info in their website really helps you select the bike you’re after so I still have been recommending Upway to friends. I’ll buy again for sure.

Transactions with UP WAY- George Baum
I finally decided to get a used E-Bike from Up Way near the end of March of 2026. Up Way responded to my questions quickly and processed the transaction quickly and delivered the bike quickly. Then I was not happy with the bike and UP Way handled a return and replacement quickly. I did miss not getting a manual for the bike model and I only received one key for the battery compartment. Finding a locksmith for extra keys has not been successful so far. I hesitate to mail it anywhere.

If you’re buying a bike, Upway is solid. Just don’t factor the referral program into your decision — the credits may not be worth what you think.

Update: I read through Elway‘s review, but when they tell you about the referral credits, they don’t explicitly say they have to be used for another E bike. Once again seems like a bad business practice. Why would I need credits to buy an E bike after I’ve already bought an E bike? Buyer beware this is a dishonest business policy. I have yet to receive a resolution from this company after almost a month of trying to get something.

Not as easy as advertised/promoted but still a GREAT deal
Our bikes were affordable but not as easy put together as advertised. Mine came with a few basic pieces that were put on incorrectly so we had to hire a person to come out and fix it (the rear wheel was put on wrong and would not spin). My wife's battery also does not work correctly but the customer service has been REALLY responsive and helpful and communicative. We are happy with the bikes and ride them daily.
I am somewhat pleased with the bike
I am pleased with the bike , but feel a little shorted by the display not working. It does not show the battery power remaining. It is doubly disappointing as this is a about 60 pounds in weight and quite heavy without power. Getting stranded without battery power is not so good trying to pedal a heavy bike. I guess i will have to try and find a dealer that sells the display.

I had a really great experience with Upway. Shipping was smooth and honestly better than I expected — the bike arrived quickly and in excellent condition.
Their chat support was also super helpful. They took the time to answer my questions and helped me narrow down my options without making the process feel overwhelming.
