Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Advice and Lack of Due Diligence

We are a medium-sized Amazon business operating across multiple EU markets. After previously dealing with VAT issues caused by another provider’s negligence, we specifically looked for a smaller firm that would offer better communication and more personalized service instead of robotic responses.

We chose Lovat after being assured that there would be no issues transferring all seven of our VAT numbers to them. Based on that confidence, we terminated our relationship with our previous provider.

Unfortunately, 3–4 months later, we were informed that Lovat was not actually able to represent us for two of the VAT numbers. As a result, we had to return to our previous provider to handle those registrations. This should have been identified upfront before we made the switch. It felt like they agreed to everything initially without doing proper research or due diligence.

The second major issue was their recommendation to open a UK company to expedite obtaining new VAT numbers. We followed their advice, only to find out five months later that we cannot properly use those VAT numbers because the new company name creates a mismatch with our existing setup. This was extremely frustrating and costly.

Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, with poor planning and advice that created more complications rather than solving them.

Lovat truly simplified the submission of documents. As an enterpreneur, I prefer to spent time working rather than deal with documentation and business laws. Works simply and reliably.

LOVAT simplifies VAT management with a user-friendly platform and excellent support. Minor app freezing issues are easily resolved by updating.

Pricing structure is just impossible to see through, invoices sent is not the same pricing as on their site, and in the end it becomes more expensive for a "self service" software than most fully serviced alternatives

The tax compliance software is really good. Just the customer service needs improvement. Overall, its a great experience in filing an OSS and VAT .

We have been using VATCompliance.co to obtain a VAT number for Amazon Germany. Unfortunately, their service has been extremely disappointing. Despite our persistent efforts and continuous follow-ups, it has been over eight months, and they still have not managed to secure the VAT number. The constant delays and lack of responsiveness are unacceptable. We strongly advise against using their services as they have proven to be unreliable.

By far the worst service ever experienced to get EU VATs from. To be avoided at all costs, it will save you months of loss business due to delays and absence of communication. A total disaster.

As a user of Lovat software, I can confidently say that it is an excellent tool for managing VAT compliance. I primarily use Lovat to generate VAT returns and submit them to tax authorities in other countries. To do this, I simply upload my transactions to the platform and generate a report. I appreciate the ability to automatically submit VAT returns to multiple countries with a single click, which helps to streamline our financial processes and save time.

Our onboarding process with Lovat was seamless. Their team of skilled professionals provided us with comprehensive support throughout the integration journey, offering straightforward and concise guidance. Additionally, they demonstrated remarkable kindness and responsiveness, promptly and thoroughly addressing all our inquiries.

Furthermore, the API itself is exceptionally user-friendly. This ease of use has greatly facilitated the integration of Lovat into our product for our team. We have gained a consistent grasp of how to utilize the API, thereby assisting us in preventing any implementation errors.

Great versatile software and amazing customer service!

The team at LOVAT have been great from the start. From taking time to answer queries by Chat/email, to the application process, and keeping me updated with the progress of everything.

If you wish to trade in the EU or in the UK, you need to be VAT compliant. And this is where LOVAT comes in, as they remove the all the paperwork and hassle from your hands, and streamline the application process to the various tax authorities (if you apply for this option). I wish I had known about them earlier.

Then comes the reporting, once you start trading in these zones. And again this is where the LOVAT system kicks in : they connect to the various tax authorities, and you can easily submit your tax reports. Since the system connects to Shopify, then all your transactions are imported directly onto their platform, making the reporting process easier.

Overall there is a little understanding required on your behalf to be compliant, and you need to adhere to the dates of the reporting, however once everything is set up it is a breeze. There is no reason why your business shouldn't be VAT compliant in the UK /EU anymore since services and tools like LOVAT exist.

There are other VAT compliancy services out there, but they are not so straightforward or honest as LOVAT. Many others do not have automatic API (connection) to Shopify, and the registration fees are unbelievable for small businesses. In addition, there are lots of hidden fees with the others, or long time contracts and penalties.

I am still new to the LOVAT system, only recently implemented it, but so far I am very happy and would certainly recommend you give them a go. The price/service/functionality is the best I have seen so far.

This team surprised me! In the morning I made an application for registration of an EORI number in two countries. An hour later, the power of attorney was sent to me and the next day both registrations were already completed. It's really very fast.

This is the best Tax company out there. You can get VAT numbers for all European countries and support team is very, very helpfull! I recommend this app to anyone who need help with VAT solution

I was so stressed having to deal with European taxes since our business is non-EU based. The LOVAT team was so helpful, they answered all my questions and offered all the help I needed to register the business and pay our taxes. Had a bit of an issue in the end because when we sent the payment there were some hidden fees that we were unaware of and the tax department didn't receive the full payment, which made us have to send another payment and pay more fees. However, the LOVAT team still did all they could to help us get around this and finally it was all solved and paid. I really recommend them.

The price and design are pretty arranged, and everything works correctly

My experience with LOVAT has been all positive. They got me set up on their site very quickly and Peter has been very helpful answering any questions I've had both during and after the set-up process.

Their platform is easy to use and the support was quick to respond to both my technical questions related to the use of their platform and VAT compliance questions throughout the entire collaboration. They have also managed to make the process look simple when transfering from my old tax representative to LOVAT. Overall, very happy and would recommend to anyone, especially online marketplace sellers needing VAT compliance in EU.
