I had an issue with the diesel heater in my van that was still under warranty. I feel like I am a competent mechanic, so I began trouble shooting. Contact was made with Velit and somebody actually called me to discuss my findings. Mind blown that is was a human and how quickly they reached out. They provided me some documentation to fill out and my diagnosis was correct. Parts were shipped out quickly and with zero hassle. I could not be more impressed. Thanks Velit.

I purchased a gas heater back in 2024 - the cleaning straw was not included with the heater at that time. I called and spoke to a nice customer service representative who sent me a free cleaning straw to keep the heater in tip-top shape. It was a small gesture that went a long way in my customer service experience with Velit. I also love the app that is easy to use. 10/10 stars.

Between the customer service and the amazing products, Velit Camping has been amazing! They were quick in responding to my email questions and worked with me on getting the product shipped out to meet my travel needs. Love the power bank. It made my trip so much easier and was so simple to use. I never worried about running out of power my entire trip. Thank you Velit!!!

The gasoline heater is a great price and functions well. It needs better instructions from the manufacturer. The fuel pump is noisy. It heats the van nicely though.

I had a problem connecting to my AC unit with Bluetooth and the support team at Velit bent over backwards to help me figure out the solution. They were very patient and generous. I couldn't be happier with the result.

Good company

Raleigh at Velit was soooo helpful with the error I was getting on my heater. First walking me through a few troubleshooting steps via phone then letting me come to their shop for some hands on help. So kind and professional and made sure I understood the mechanics on my level. If you have an issue with your Velit, dont hesitate to submit a support ticket—they will go the extra mile to get you back on track.

Velit 2000U – Long-Term Owner Review

I’ve been running the Velit 2000U 7,500 BTU 12V under-bench air conditioner since 2024, so this is based on extensive real-world experience rather than a first impression.

I’ve used it in two different motorhomes: a 1992 Hymer S700 and my current 2006 Hymer S830 A-class. It has travelled extensively with us throughout the UK and on trips through France and Spain, including prolonged periods where temperatures regularly reached 35–38°C (95–100°F).

Why off-grid air conditioning matters to us

We travel with two large dogs, an Alaskan Shepherd and a German Shepherd, so air conditioning isn’t simply about making the motorhome more comfortable — it’s about keeping them safe in extreme temperatures.

Before fitting the Velit, we had a near disaster when the campsite shore power failed while we were away from the motorhome. Our existing mains-powered air conditioning became completely inoperable. Thankfully we avoided a serious situation, but it was a huge wake-up call about relying entirely on campsite electricity when travelling with animals in hot climates.

The Velit has genuinely been a lifesaver for us. Because it runs from our own 12V battery and solar system, we have independent cooling even if campsite power fails. That gives us a level of safety and peace of mind we simply didn’t have before.

Installation

The under-bench design is one of the things I like most about the 2000U. It keeps the roof clear for solar panels, doesn’t add significant height to the vehicle and keeps the weight lower than a traditional rooftop unit.

In my S830, the unit is installed in the garage area and ducted into the living space. This has worked very well and provides comfortable, distributed cooling rather than simply dumping cold air from a rooftop unit.

As with any under-bench system, proper installation and unrestricted airflow are important.

Cooling performance

For a 7,500 BTU 12V inverter system, the performance has genuinely impressed me.

In normal UK summer conditions it cools the motorhome extremely well. The real test, however, has been southern Europe. At 35–38°C (95–100°F) and sometimes higher, the Velit has continued to make a substantial difference.

The S830 is a large A-class motorhome and considerably bigger than many of the vehicles these systems are installed in, so expectations have to be realistic. Nevertheless, it has kept the interior considerably more comfortable, allowed us to sleep properly and, most importantly, helped keep our dogs safe during extreme heat.

Off-grid electrical system

My installation has a 480Ah lithium battery bank, Victron charging equipment and over 500W of solar. This allows the Velit to be used for extended periods rather than just short bursts.

The combination of the 12V inverter compressor, substantial battery capacity and solar generation makes it a genuinely useful off-grid air-conditioning system without needing a generator or campsite hookup.

Noise and reliability

The Velit is impressively quiet compared with traditional rooftop RV air conditioners and is perfectly acceptable to sleep with.

Most importantly, after extensive use since 2024 across two motorhomes, thousands of miles and some seriously hot European conditions, it has proven extremely reliable and has continued to perform faultlessly.

Overall

The Velit 2000U has exceeded my expectations. It offers effective 7,500 BTU cooling from a 12V off-grid system, while being quiet, compact and practical for motorhome installation.

Having used it extensively since 2024 across the UK, France and Spain, including temperatures approaching 38°C/100°F, I would have no hesitation recommending it.

For us, travelling with two large dogs, it provides something far more important than comfort: confidence that we can keep them safe even when campsite power can’t be relied upon.

Fast delivery good product

I didn't realize right away what was missing from my order. It would be helpful to have a list of what should be in the box. I would find it also helpful to know what each item is called with a picture beside it. Not all people are familiar with these items. I did email about the missing items and sent a picture and they were quick to notice I was missing more than I thought and they quickly sent the other items to me.

Velit customer service was very responsive, friendly, and helpful. Would give them 10 stars if I could!

Have the Velit version 3 in a 170ext sprinter and it works good my only complaint is in the advertising where it said you can control it anytime from anywhere. It’s controlled by Bluetooth so you need to be near it. I definitely like Bluetooth over IR

Even a great product can have problems. What the company behind the product does is the real measure of quality. Installed a Velit 2000R on my uninsulated Promaster, in June, in Las Vegas, 112 degrees midday. Was 130+ in the van. Let it run for 6+ hours powered buy my 800w of solar and it quietly pumped 45 degrees air into the van the whole time and left 100+ w going to my batteries. Impressive! A week into my first trip it stopped blowing cold. Contacted Velit, and same day, online, they determined likely damage during shipping and had a new unit shipped out to me the next day. No questions, no hassle. Great product, even greater customer service. Very cool, pun intended!

Broken right out of the box. No warranty. No customer service. Making my goal to tell everyone about your horrible company.

It took a week to find out any information about if the Velit 3000 a/c would be shipped after spending a LOT of money. Only learn it was pre order. I was seriously wondering if I got scammed from what looked like a legit website due to lack of confirmation emails that other businesses send.

There were 4 loose screws rolling around the inside of the actual roof top unit with signs that they came off of something based off the plastic pieces on the loose screw threads. I ordered a 12 vdc unit but the instruction book says 24 or 48 vdc. I have a 12 vdc system. Upgrading will cost thousands from what I have now.
The instructions say to screw the outside duct on with M4 screws, yet the screw holes don’t line up at all. I am starting to wonder if another models parts were thrown in the box.

I feel like I want to throw up based off the amount of money I spent on this. I live in the van full time and was really looking forward to getting ac in the mid-Atlantic summer heat.

Velit was super responsive and helpful regarding the challenges we were having with proper installation. Their customer service is honestly unmached in a world of AI bots. It was so refreshing to talk and work with an actual human who was kind, nice, helpful and so knowledgable.

Velit’s technical support is unmatched and their products are simple while being efficient and reliable. I run both their diesel heater and 12 volt AC in my van and had some issues with my heater due to some installation hiccups and the technical support was above and beyond. Stoked to continue my travels with the peace of mind reliable products brings! Absolutely recommend

My Velit 12V roof mounted AC unit is a fabulous piece of kit at a very reasonable price. Customer support is also excellent. I was unclear as to when the unit might arrive but a quick email to support put me in touch with the delivery team who were able to tell me the item had been dispatched. It arrived the next day.
The unit was securely packed in an outer plywood crate (I used the plywood to build a new electric set up board and storage tray to sit above my battery bay) with an inner cardboard box with plentiful foam padding.
Installation was straightforward and I was able to do it single handedly only enlisting help to lift the unit on top of the van. The instruction suggest fitting the mounting threaded rods to the bottom of the unit prior to placing the unit on the van roof but this would mean maneuvering a very heavy unit with four very spikey rods protruding below across the roof of the van. I did not want to risk the potential damage so installed them afterwards from below. This did mean I was unable to fit the locking nuts but I simply used thread locking compound instead. Once installed, the unit worked perfectly from the first press of the button.
My "even better ifs" would be a choice of black or white for the interior surfaces of the unit. I specified a white unit for my white van but the interior control panel and trim are still black which does not go well with the light theme in my van, a heating option as available on some competitor's models and a set of intermediate length threaded rods. I had to fit the longer rods and cut them down which was an awkward and messy job inside the van. However, these are minor niggles. It is a great product that I thoroughly recommend.
