Great company that build great looking houses! We have supplied Skipton with materials for a number of years and I can honestly say they use the best materials and never cut corners or scrimp on quality.
Furthermore they are a really honest, loyal and fair customer for us, and that speaks volumes about them.

I have dealt with Skipton Properties since September 2019. I have always found them to be professional in their approach, with great attention to detail to make sure everything goes to site correctly. The office are quick and efficient – if there are any queries on a job they are sorted promptly. The site agents are always courteous, pleasant and always take the time to ensure everything is programmed correctly and in plenty of time.

We have recently been involved in a few projects with Skipton Properties and it has been an absolute pleasure working with them. The site organisation and communication has been fantastic - They always made sure we had plenty of areas ready for us to install our gas and waterproof membranes. We are really looking forward to working with Skipton properties on future projects.

We have been sub contractacting for Skipton properties now for over 15 months and i can honestly say we have not yet had one bad experience in this time. Skipton props sites are great to work on and it is a breath of fresh air to work with a main contractor who goes the extra mile to make sure everything you need to help complete a specific project is there on the site to make our job easier.

Dealing with them is straightforward and as a company we are really excited about our present and upcoming projects for Skipton properties!

Very good Professional company to deal with, always plans ahead, using good quality products on all their projects.

We purchased a phase 1 plot on Bolton Gardens, and we’re really happy with our new home. Build quality is excellent throughout, right down to fixtures and fittings including handles, and we’ve even had visitors comment how they like the black hinges on the doors! As the site is on various levels, it really adds to the character of the whole development, and gives a real “quality over quantity” appeal. They were happy to work with us to try and accommodate specific requests during the build, be that at extra cost or free of charge, and any snags or concerns raised since we’ve moved in have been handled well by the Customer Care team. The icing on our particular cake will be when the final road surfacing is completed, but as far as the house, and our dealings with Skipton Properties, are concerned we’ve no complaints really and would recommend.

UPDATE

As an update to my original review I’ve got to say I’m more disappointed by Skipton Properties/Verity. Two plumbers have told us our en-suite cistern is incorrectly installed. Without looking at any photos or visiting they’ve concluded it isn’t. We’re left with a leaky toilet and huge costs because of incompetence. Cannot recommend - very poor after sales care. No better than the big developers when it comes down to it, for all their talk of values.

We purchased a house at Bolton Gardens, Silsden.

The buying process was smooth and we moved in to our new house only a couple of weeks later than we had expected when we reserved off plan months in advance.

We’ve had some snags that have been handled relatively well and the on-site team are usually very good and friendly when they come and sort stuff.

We have had several more serious problems.
1) Parking. Skipton Properties have decided we cannot park on our street, so all our visitors have to enter through the utility room rather than the front door and lovely hallway we have in our new house. Completely mad and we’ve had to take legal advice and are continuing to pursue this with Skipton Properties and their solicitors.
2) Skipton Properties forgot to do some wiring to ensure we were hooked up to Openreach for an internet connection. Skipton Properties initially said it was Openreach’s fault before then agreeing it was their fault. The on-site staff were brilliant at then trying to fix the problem, which was complicated, but it should have been done as the house was built and Skipton Properties shouldn’t have fobbed us off with blaming Openreach. We couldn’t work at home for around 2 months, incurring quite a bit of expense. When we complained we got a response on behalf of a director that was basically “never mind, it’s sorted now”.
3) We have some cables sticking out of our house. They are apparently for a Virgin Media connection should we want one. We don’t, we’ve gone with BT. Skipton Properties, who built the house and left the cables sticking out of it have told us that it’s not their problem we’ve chosen BT and that we are therefore left with cables sticking out of the house they built, and they can’t do anything or help us to do anything except just leave the cables sticking out. Defies common sense - they built the house and they left the cables loose.

Overall I think probably better than some new build developers but not deserving of the reputation they seem to enjoy locally if our experience is anything to go by.

Location, quality of build, fixtures and fittings, it all works for us, we absolutely love our new home!

I'm on my second home from Skipton Properties. I spent a lot of time trawling the market for a new home and settled upon Skipton Properties due to the location, the specification and their reputation. I had a few issues when I moved in, but they were quickly resolved. I'd definitely recommend.

Horrendous experience of buying a new home.
Endless amount of snags and issues in the home, from uneven floors, uneven walls, damp, doors that don’t shut, handles that don’t work properly, scratches on oven and sink when first moved in. The list goes on but the worse been a slate tile fell off the roof onto our car. They agreed to cover costs and then change their mind and refuse liability. Blaming the wind. I am not a roofer but pretty sure a bit of wind wouldn’t blow a brand new slate off a roof if quality slate was used and fit correctly.
Do your research online and avoid.
