Villa Mia, Crete レビュー 

I have had the pleasure of staying here two summers in a row - the villa itself is truly a home away from home, with beautiful views and extremely helpful and hospitable owners that clearly care a great deal about providing a luxury experience for their guests. The location is also ideal, just a short walk from the village centre where there's a little collection of lovely tavernas/restaurants. There are many villa options to choose from in Crete and at first I struggled to pick, but now I know I absolutely made the right choice. Thank you to Eddie and Nicole for another amazing stay, hope to visit again soon!

I could not agree more with all previous reviews. This is the second time we have visited Villa Mia, it is a great house in a wonderful setting with a perfect view. The pool invites you to relax, even in October at a pleasant temperature.

The lovely village of Gavalohori is only a short walk down the road and has some very nice restaurants and shops. A rental car is required to explore the area.

The house itself has everything you need for a great family vacation, dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioning, hair dryer etc.

The new stone-built BBQ and pizza oven is really nice, the kids loved to make pizza there. Just in case someone is tired of eating wonderful beef stifado at Monica's tavern....

Beautiful villa situated in a very good location in the hills of Gavalochori with an amazing view of Souda bay. Local village is a short walk down the hill with a wonderful taverna Monica’s, offering live music some evenings and excellent food and service the rest of the time, as well as a lovely attached art shop showcasing local artists and products. Local town Vamos is excellent for drinks, other towns are within easy driving distance and the villa itself is less than an hours drive from Chania and the airport, with a beautiful drive along the bay as you go. Would recommend a car for you holiday, villa has a good parking spot privately within the gates.

Onto the villa itself! Beautiful villa with a very well sized pool, ideal for families. Decoration and aesthetic is tasteful and modern with a gorgeous covered outdoor area for lunches, dinners, anything you want with a stunning view of this side of the island. Bedrooms are a good size and a family of 6 could stay comfortably with room for all. Master bedroom opens onto a terrace just outside the pool. You can also sit on the roof terrace for meals, or just for some lovely star gazing. All the amenities you need, dishwasher, washer, air conditioning, big fridge to stock for your stay. Beautiful villa you could happily spend your whole holiday enjoying the food, sun and pool, which we did! Would recommend for your stay, enjoy Crete!

February in Villa Mia

Thank you for making your place available to us. When we started looking for a place to spend this February, we researched the past weather data. We hesitated at first. The weather for February 2019 was miserable and near the end of the month the island was deluged with flash floods and road washouts.

We took a chance and booked. Best thing we could have done. The weather this year was great. Maybe two rain-out days. Hey! What better time to do the laundry. We drove from the West coast to the East coast and back again. This required we stay at hotels for a couple of days. We looked forward to getting back to the comfort of Villa Mia.

We went from the North shore to the South shore: so ostensible we saw a lot of Crete. It was a great vacation: made all that better by the amenities and conveniences the villa offered. In our travels around Crete, we pretty well had the whole island to ourselves. I'm convinced we experienced a lot more than we would have in the high season.

Fabulously situated villa with spectacular views. In a great Cretan village with good tavernas and a couple of general stores where you can get most things. The beach is a10 minute drive at Almerida.
Villa is superb. Very well equipped kitchen very comfortable furnishing and good beds. Heated pool and several outside eating areas with great roof terrace.
1st class accommodation.

My family had a fantastic week staying at Villa Mia. The location was perfect for us, just 10 minutes to the coast where there is a great selection of restaurants to choose from, and some small, but not overly busy beaches. The local village has a great bakery, and a couple of shops as well as some nice little Tavernas. The facilities at the Villa are spot on and the views alone make it worth staying there. We would have no hesitation in returning for a future holiday there.

Fantastic villa which enabled us to see village life in Crete. View spectacular and the pool a delight on hot days. All requirements thought of even down to an electric pump to inflate pool lilos! Comfy beds and two bathrooms meant for the 5 of us we could spread out and relax. Housekeeping excellent as is all the information about the villa and surroundings given prior to your visit by the owners. Super tavernas for evening meals just a short walk down the hill and excellent beaches 15 minutes away. Couldn’t recommend more, Villa Mia gave us an amazing two week holiday.

Had a wonderful holiday at the wonderful Villa Mia, couldn't fault the villa, location perfect, 10 minute stroll to Gavalochori with 4 tavernas all serving delicious food, kids walked to bakery every morning for assortment of fresh pastries and pies! The villa is equipped to a very high standard, the pool and outside area has amazing views and feels very private. Great welcome pack containing lots of goodies, the owners and Yvonne (housekeeper) very helpful, no hesitation in recommending and hopefully will be back next year! Thanks

This is a lovely villa in a great location for those who want to explore the western part of Crete. The villa is equiped with everything you might have at home plus pool and has great views. The village is lovely with just a 10 minute downhill walk to a couple of great taverna's & local shops. Its not far fron Chania, the airport or the coast. The owners were very helpful and we would definately return.

This property is simply outstanding; its creation and development have clearly been a labour of love for its very helpful owners. The situation, on the edge of a well preserved village, out in the country but not too far from the beaches if you want them, is first-rate, and the view from the villa, over olive groves, the sea and the mountains, is splendid. It has a lovely pool with borders of fragrant flowering shrubs. The villa itself is spacious, comfortable, attractively decorated, and amazingly well equipped. Towels and linen are regularly replaced by the excellent housekeeper (though she charges for pool towels, so bring your own).

A fabulous villa with the most fabulous views. I would gladly recommend Villa Mia and the information pack we got was so helpful and comprehensive. I had never been to Crete before but I definitely will be going back

If you are looking for a 5-star villa, within walking distance of friendly Taverna's situated in an authentic Cretan village, Villa Mia is ‘The’ place.
Superb homely villa with private pool. Spectacular views of the mountains. Amazing birds & butterflies around the garden.
Excellent location for exploring. Beaches a plenty and only a short drive away.
The owners are friendly, super efficient and love to share their Cretan paradise.

Stayed here in 2016 and loved it, wanted to try somewhere different in 2017 but struggled to find anywhere of its equal in views, beauty of pool and quality of accommodation. Villa Mia was so well equipped and maintained that we have been spoilt for always! If we returned to Crete we wouldn't hesitate to stay there. The peace looking out over the village from the pool and from the sun loungers whilst enjoying a book will stay in my memory.

Villa Mia is an exceptionally well equipped villa in the beautiful unspoilt location of Gavalochori, on the North Western coast of Crete. Fixtures and fittings are of a high standard, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, lounge area including home entertainment, air conditioning in the bedrooms and living area. Family bathroom and ensuite shower room off the master bedroom. Spacious, well laid out and very comfortable for 4 adults.
The exterior has been equally done to a very high standard,with a beautiful swimming pool, roof terrace and a number of carefully placed tables to enable you to capture the sun at different times of the day.
The villa is a 5 minute walk from the village of Gavlochori and a 10 minute drive to the resort of Almyrida.
The level of detail provided by the owners prior to travelling is invaluable, especially on the journey from the airport if it's your first visit or indeed, first driving experience in Crete!
We would have absolutely no doubt in recommending this property and location to anyone thinking about visiting Crete.
