Trying to get my 401k from them is hell the app is never working properly. They said they sent me a file I had to use abdobe reader to access it but every time abdobe tells there is no file to open so I called and asked to have paperwork mailed to me it’s been two weeks and I haven’t received anything. One of the worst companies I’ve ever had to deal with

This company will garnish your money once it’s time for them to be paid ON TIME, and purposely make you wait to get your claim approved even if you submitted everything to have it approved. They actually HATE having to pay out so they make you go through hoops. This company needs to just file bankruptcy, these are hard working people who are literally trying to pick up the pieces to their lives when disaster strikes unexpectedly just expecting their claims to be approved on time, but the company doesn’t care, they are just there to collect from your paycheck on time. This is heartless, may God have mercy.

Voya never sent me a 2025 tax return. I attempted to set up an account, but the website displayed an error message. I called their customer service and spoke with a representative who informed me that the website was malfunctioning. Therefore, I requested that they send me a copy of my tax return. Oh, my goodness! The representative put me on hold three or four times before advising me to consult my tax professional. Finally, after being put on hold again, she comprehended my simple request and promised to mail my return. However, she mistakenly read me the wrong mailing address. Let’s see if the tax return actually gets mailed. The representative was quite pleasant, but it was evident that she lacked proper training. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against trusting Voya with your investments. If Voya cannot handle such a straightforward task as mailing tax returns, it’s clear that they are not equipped to manage your financial affairs effectively. Stay away!!

Update: April 14th, I still haven’t received my 1099R tax form in the mail. I attempted to create an account online again, but kept encountering the same error message: “This option is unavailable at this time. Please select another method.” I reached out to customer service to explain my issue with the website, mentioning that the previous representative had informed me that the website frequently has issues. However, the current customer service representative assured me that the website is "pristine". We still couldn't create a login account, so she connected me to a specialist who confirmed that there’s a disruption in the system. The specialist was very nice and assured me they would call back once they figured it out. Let’s see what happens. Everyone is nice and respectful, but I need execution.

I would give VOYA a ZERO if I could. NEVER invest your money with this company. They will TAKE your money, but good luck withdrawing it. I have been filling out papers for OVER A YEAR and still cannot get MY MONEY.

Voya Financial is the WORST! The customer service is terrible. Our account information just changes, like a correct phone number changing to an incorrect one. Our phone pin is never recognized. Ever. We have to go through reverification that this time is taking weeks for some mail to come. We don't even have access on our account to change any information. They have held off a withdrawl we have been trying to make for weeks as the stock market plummeted and we lost about 3k. Still get an error code trying to withdrawl. We can't wait to be done with this people.

If I could give this a negative star I would. We have spent the last 45 days trying to rollover a 401k from Voya to another institution. The 401k had both pre and post tax funds. Voya sent the after tax funds to me even after giving them the exact accounts for IRA and Roth rollovers, as well as the FBO information. 6 calls later and we still have not resolved the issue. Horrible customer service

Horrible service, not able to access online, customer service can’t answer questions, claim managers never return calls, almost impossible to get payment. Never get paid on-time. Takes weeks of calling to get a check then weeks of calling to get another check. They owe me 6 weeks of pay 5 phone calls and still waiting. What is the point of short or long term disability insurance even when approved you can’t get paid. I highly recommend NO company or person use their LACK of Service.

Worst to deal with, never get a call back. Calling everyday for two weeks and all they tell me is we received your paper work but takes a few days to process. Reminder they’ve told me that for two weeks now. Worst situation and worst experience ever Voya is a negative review if could give one.

YoYA is horrible the money withdraw transaction completed but they never distributed the money. I made multiple phone calls seeking for help the only they told me my bank rejected the money, which is not true I am trying to find a way to close this retirement account. Be careful and find a better provider like Fidelity

Scam ❌, don’t trust them!! I was completely ripped off!!!
Good thing, 🄶🆁𝓔🆈𝓞𝓧🄷🆄🄱🆂 stepped in and recovered my £11,300 without any issues.
Highly recommended.

Absolutely awesome website. Spending hours trying to get FSA funds released. The website continues to deny claims without providing a reason. Once we called in and corrected the issue it was denied again without a reason. Hours of my life wasted with this awful company.

I selected one star because there is non NEGATIVE 100. Never ever use voya. They are The worst of the worsts. They completely blocked me to access my HSA account through employer. If that is the technical problem, They cannot figure out how to solve. Whenever I contact online, the only thing they do is multiple people take my information but not fixing anything. They are very suspicious and incapable of anything but taking money.

My experience with Voya has been extremely disappointing. Customer service is very poor and appears to be offshore, making communication difficult and ineffective. It is nearly impossible to get any problem resolved, no matter how many times you call or follow up.
Distribution requests are overly complicated and burdensome. What should be a straightforward process turns into endless back-and-forth, delays, and confusion. Representatives are often disrespectful when handling questions about your own investments, which is unacceptable.
The lack of accountability, poor communication, and dismissive attitude raise serious concerns about trustworthiness. When it comes to managing your investments and accessing your own money, you expect professionalism and reliability—Voya fails on both fronts.
I would not recommend Voya to anyone who values responsive customer service or clear, efficient handling of their investments.

Good experience. My bf passed and he had a life insurance policy. They paid out immediately. I'm grateful, because it's hard making ends meet after a death. Two incomes suddenly become one, and bills don't stop.

It took 6 MONTHS and 6 to 8 representatives to get one Voya account rolled over to another as they apparently are not the same company. I was VERY scared for MONTHS that someone stole my money. The only one helpful was a lady named Ashley who called me every week. I was sent THREE checks in the process of transferring for that 6 MONTHS. This company gets MINUS score from me

This company has an effectively non-working app for mobile. The website is extremely clunky and slow. The website for Treasury Direct makes this website look like a dinosaur. The options within the website are very unclear and they seem to make it deliberately confusing for the user. Schwab, Vanguard, Fidelity - these are the places to be. I will be moving out of Voya as soon as humanly possible.

Voya is a scam - they give cheap rates to your company and look legit but if you for any reason need your money they charge exorbitant fees - I would owe them money to close my account even though my investment choices doubled the money I had paid out- their excuse “it’s the plan your employers chose and there’s nothing we can do”

Horrible customer service. Not consistent. I needed to cash out my 401 k for school purposes and they made it absolutely a nightmare to do it. It's my money. Avoid them if you can
