WaSun is a UK eyewear company developing a new generation of prescription glasses that can switch from clear lenses to sunglasses at the press of a button. Our eyewear uses electrochromic lens technology, allowing the wearer to control the tint whenever they want. Unlike traditional photochromic lenses, which rely on UV light to darken, WaSun lenses are electrically controlled. This means they can tint while driving, work regardless of the surrounding UV conditions, and return to clear indoors. We’re building WaSun around a simple idea: people shouldn’t have to choose between their everyday prescription glasses and sunglasses. We want one pair to do both, while still looking and feeling like normal eyewear. Our focus is on combining useful technology with comfortable, well-designed frames that people would genuinely want to wear every day. We are currently developing the next generation of WaSun eyewear alongside specialist engineers, designers and manufacturing partners ahead of our wider launch.
