Title: Failed twice in months â warranty process a nightmare
Two units failed in quick succession â first within 3 months, second within 6 months.
While within Amazonâs return window, the return was easy and efficient.
Once outside Amazonâs period and dealing directly with Waterpik (Church & Dwight), the warranty process became a months-long ordeal. I was told a replacement had been shipped and âreturned to sender,â yet no tracking number, carrier details, or evidence of delivery attempt were ever provided â despite repeated requests and confirmed address details.
If you are outside Amazonâs return window, be aware: the warranty process is extremely frustrating and unresolved in my case after nearly 4 months of weekly emails.
Great Technology, Irresponsible Leadership: Why I Cannot Recommend Waterpik
I recently reached out to Waterpik regarding the end-of-life disposal of my device, specifically looking for a manufacturer reclamation program. In 2025, it is standard practice for competent electronics manufacturers to take responsibility for the hazardous materials (lithium-ion batteries) and precious metals they introduce into the market.
I was shocked when Waterpik customer support informed me that the company has no reclamation program and expects customers to simply offload this hazardous electronic waste onto their local municipalities.
This policyâor lack thereofâis not just disappointing; it is negligent. It signals a profound incompetence and ignorance at the senior leadership level regarding the circular economy and modern sustainability standards. While other companies (like Panasonic) are actively reclaiming materials to close the loop on production, Waterpik is operating on an outdated, lazy "take-make-waste" model that externalizes their pollution costs onto the public.
A water flosser may clean your teeth, but a company that refuses to clean up its own mess does not deserve your money. I urge consumers to withhold financial support from Waterpik until they take the consumer product lifecycle seriously and implement a responsible reclamation program.

Unethical behavior
I bought The Sonic 2.0 Waterpik less than 3 years ago. The brush stopped recharging and I reached out to the Waterpik company, as it is supposed to be under warranty as noted in the registration warranty I purchased less than 3 years ago. I was told the warranty does not apply because I don't have the original recipe, even though I have proof of registration with the date of purchase as confirmed by the Waterpik. This is unacceptable and unethical.

So sad, I bet Iâve had 4 or 5 over a five year period, all have failed in less than 6 months. I baby the unit, keep it clean, etc. just stops, either the brush or water flosser.

WP-100 Waterpik leaks from reservoir from faulty valve design
I have the WP-100 Waterpik, countertop flosser. Never again. The reservoir drips/pours water when removing from machine for refilling and replacing. A new 'valve' (sent from Waterpik) fixes it, for a couple of weeks. then have to keep calling to get new valvies. Waterpik evidently knows its a problem since their instructions say to call for free replacements when it fails. (How about designing a valve that doesn't fail?) I have replaced the valve and 2 weeks later it is dripping again. Over and over. Waterpik has a list of things to accuse the user of doing to escape responsibility for bad design (hard water?not cleaning with vinegar solution every few weeks? not emptying reservoir after every use (and then waiting for unit to re-prime itself after filling)? cleaning in dishwasher?, etc. etc.) I had an older version of this Waterpik for years without having this issue. No more Waterpik for me.

I have had 2 waterpik cordless in the past 2 years. I dropped the first - on a carpet! - a fall of about 3 feet and it stopped working. Yesterday the replacement rolled from the side of a sink into the sink basin - and promptly stopped working. Pretty shoddy and not what i would expect for the kind of money each cost. I did not retain receipts (who does after 6 months?) and so can not claim. But twice bitten,. definitely now shy and will look elsewhere for a different brand

I got this as a promo from my dentist (Deep clean special with this waterpik brush and cleaning set). It was DOA and waterpik would not honor their warranty saying I must have an invoice showing the purchase with the serial number. I do have a dentist invoice showing it was a recent promo but I guess itâs not good enough for waterpik. I asked my dentist whether they make the receipt but she said it was part of a joint promotion so these are directly from waterpik. I guess waterpik wanted to promote their product with the dentists, but surely they got what they wanted. THE WORST REPUTATION.
Warrantyless Waterpik Complete Care 5.0âŠ
I bought a Waterpik Complete Care 5.0 in 8/24 and the toothbrush recently stopped working despite having a full charge. After submitting my sales receipt to customer service I was told the warranty would not be honored because I did not buy the unit from one of their approved sellers.

My experience is, that their water jet flosser is excellent and has made a day and night improvement to my oral health, especially the gums. But also that my unit had a fault.. and I know that these type of products regardless of brand tend to die.. likely due to electricity and water - but after only a few back and forth emails on trying to fix it, Waterpik sent me a brand new unit for next day shipping. Customer service were not only very friendly and polite, but clear and reasonable - this was all months after my original purchase.. I didnât expect a good experience with after-sales. The new unit has been going strong for months and am extremely happy. Couldnât be happier.
