I have been taking care of business using this software program for over 10 years. I had a hiccup in trying to log in, but it was resolved very qucikly. I use the free version and don't have to pay over $70 per month for Quickbooks. Well worth it!

Zero humans to speak with until they saw that I am a gunsmith trying to use their payment processor for services and firearm cleaning supplies that I sell out of my shop. Mind you, this is after I paid $190 for the Pro version.

Such bullshit. PaymentCloud sucks because they charge you monthly even if you don't use it and you have to sign a contract. I had a hell of time getting out from under them.

Wave failed to pull funds for our payroll because of a bank outage. They then failed to reply (completely) to an open support ticket about it. I managed to reach support on chat, and they informed me there is nothing they can do, and I should just "add" the previous payroll to the next one as one-off payments. They then left the chat without answering my follow-up questions and objections about not paying our staff for the month!
Needless to say, we are looking at other Payroll providers.

I used Wave Financial for my business and initially appreciated that it was free and simple to use. However, my experience quickly became frustrating due to ongoing issues with inaccurate balances and transactions (including âmoney in transitâ) that were difficult to correct.
Because I could not trust the accuracy of the platform, I ended up handling things manually just to ensure my books were correct. That completely defeats the purpose of using accounting software.
While the account itself is âfree,â Wave still earns money through credit card processing fees. I was willing to continue using their platform and even consider upgrading once I had everything running smoothly. However, due to the lack of support and response and unresolved issues, I will no longer be using their credit card processing services.
I understand that paid subscriptions may receive more support. However, the lack of response and inability to resolve basic issues has caused me to lose trust in the platform entirely.
At this point, I will be looking for other software. I do not recommend Wave.
I have been a Wave customer for over 10âŠ
I have been a Wave customer for over 10 years with a perfect account history and zero disputes. On March 12, 2026 my client paid $5,000 for a legitimate signed mentorship program. Wave held my funds without any notification.
Five days later I received an email from their Risk Team requesting documentation. I responded the same day with complete answers and client communications. They took over 24 hours to respond, then asked for even more documentation including client satisfaction confirmation for a program that is still ongoing.
I contacted live chat and waited 41 minutes to speak to an agent who could not help me and offered a 24-48 hour manager callback. My funds are still on hold with no resolution date.
After researching, I discovered this is a well-documented pattern with Wave â customers reporting funds held for months and automatically refunded to clients without merchant consent, destroying business relationships and causing serious financial harm.
I am filing complaints with both the BBB and the CFPB. After 10 years I am done with Wave. Do not use Wave Payments if you cannot afford to have your money held indefinitely with no recourse.
Tested paid for two hours. No refund and no access after
No way to test out the paid options without paying $20 for a month. I got in and realized it wasn't going to work for me. Cancelled the subscription within a couple of hours. Not only did I lose access to the account (I wasn't able to use the time I paid for to continue comparing it to other software), they won't let me have a refund despite having signed up for a couple of hours. Listen, this could easily be solved by offering a free trial like everyone else, prorating the refund like my car insurance would, or at least letting me use what I paid for.
Initial customer service was through an AI chat and they implied I couldn't talk to a human without having a paid account. Someone did respond to my follow up to that frustrating response (especially since I did pay) but only to tell me they couldn't give me a refund for my two hours of trying it out. Just pretty lame if you ask me.

ZERO STAR! The customer support is nonexistent. If you run to any issue, there is no way to fix it.
This product doesn't work
This product doesn't work. I reached out to customer support three times and nobody ever responded to my tickets. I was charged for the service even though I told them the service wasn't working and still, nothing, nobody helped me. A totally jacked up service, app and paid service and will never recommend this product to anyone, ever.

Terrible terrible terrible! I wish I could give them negative stars honestly. I was able to invoice a client and now the money is stuck in this no manâs land and Iâm unable to get it out no matter what. Their support team keeps giving me the same useless answer and no matter how we respond with how many details they keep talking in circles and it seems like thereâs no way to solve the issue, even though I provided them with countless documents and bank accounts details.
The worst part is thereâs no way to talk to anybody live.
There is a reason this shitty product is so cheap. Avoid and just stick to quickbooks.

Run Away from Them
I signed up with this company primarily for invoicing. They had no problem charging me for subscription or setting up a payment method. However, when I sent an invoice to my client and charged their card for $5k, one day before I was suppose to receive my funds they froze my account and had the audicity to tell me my industry is "high risk", I'm in marketing.... They had a whole two weeks to tell me this but waited until I processed a payment. They're support team is terrible, you spend most of your time chatting to a useless AI bot and if you're lucky to get an email from them their not responsive. I wish I read all the reviews before signing up. Do yourself a favor and use a more reputable company like Quickbooks, Freshbooks, or Xero than this company.

No customer Service. Been paying and using the pro for years. It was great for invoices. They supposedly have trouble linking banks but my bank is linked no problem. Now they are with holding a customers credit card payment asking for all the details they can clearly see in the system. Don't use credit card processing through them or you'll never see it.

I have been trying to have a bug resolved on their website which prevents me from using my payroll service (of which is have continued to pay for). The customer service team said I would HEAR BACK in 20 business days... Its now been 3 MONTHS! 10 representatives, multiple emails, and promises later and ZERO update. Not even 1 saying they are at least working on the issue.
It seems the entire customer service team is more focused on tossing the hot potato than solving the actual problem for their clients.
Before this I would have recommended Wave to everyone but now I would avoid it like the plague. So sad such a great application is absolutely ruined by a horrible customer service team.
Please pay the extra money to their competitors, last thing you need is to not be able to pay your team for 3 months due to being left hanging.

Where do I start? First, you wonât ever be able to cancel, so donât sign up! No way to email or get support to cancel. My old accountant created my account but I kept it after changing accountants. It wouldnât let me cancel because he didnât take his name off. So I stayed on years after I wanted to get off. There was no option to cancel as a result and no way to get help from Wave. I finally had to cancel the card that was the attached payment and they promptly cut me off. Also expense categories are not intuitive and again, no one to help. Donât get yourself in this mess. Itâs not worth it to sign up for a scam program. Save yourself the headache!
Corrupt business practices and terrible support
I have been using Wave Accounting for years. I recently tried to cancel my payroll and they refuse to let me do this. They wont let me cancel or remove my bank account and continue to bill me. My only recourse is to close my bank account so they cannot bill me and open a new one. Avoid this company, there are better ones at a similar price out there.
