We have been using Waver gateways for many years together with UniFi/mikrotik access points across numerous installations in Greece including cafés, bars, restaurants and hospitality venues throughout Epirus, Lefkada and Corfu. As a local WISP, reliability is extremely important to us, and Wavertech has consistently delivered stable performance, easy guest WiFi management and flexible captive portal features. The system is straightforward to deploy, works well with existing network infrastructure, and the support team has always been helpful when needed. Highly recommended for businesses looking for a professional guest WiFi solution!

I had a Wavertech WAC52N device that was working before I installed Wavertech’s official firmware update. After the update, the device still partly functioned, but admin access was no longer available, making it effectively unusable from a management point of view.

I contacted Wavertech support and spent a considerable amount of time following their instructions, including reset attempts and a TFTP recovery process. I reported back in detail at each stage, but the problem remained unresolved. Responses were also slow at times, with several days between replies.

Despite the issue occurring immediately after their firmware update, Wavertech repeatedly stated that they could not confirm the firmware caused the failure. Their position was that the unit was out of warranty, discontinued, and that returning it for inspection would involve significant shipping, customs and handling costs, plus a €35 inspection fee, with no guarantee of repair.

Their alternative “goodwill” offer was a 20% discount on a replacement unit. They have since confirmed that this is the final practical remedy they are prepared to offer.

I find this completely unacceptable. A customer should be able to expect that installing an official manufacturer firmware update will not leave a device effectively unusable. If it does, I would expect the company to take far more responsibility than offering a small discount on another purchase.

Very disappointing experience, poor support, and not a company I would be comfortable recommending.

Good solution for guest WiFi on Starlink. Stable connection and easy to use paid service for our guests. Setup could be a bit clearer with paypal, we figured out how to set it properly after viewing the video tutorials, and now we are happy with it.

We installed a WAVER ODY captive portal router in our restaurant and it has been a game changer. Guests connect to our WiFi through our captive portal, which has helped us collect email and promote our menu specials at the same time..
Also, we’ve been able to forward positive reviews to our google business page.
The support team has been very helpful and they even guided us on ways to optimize our setup for maximum results. Highly recommended!

I do not usually leave reviews but I’m really happy with Wavertech ControlX Gateway we got for our boutique hotel. Delivery was super quick and setting it up was way easier than expected – had it running in no time.
The login page was simple to brand with our logo, and the WiFi just works without any fuss. I also really like that there are no monthly fees, which is a big win for us.

All in all, it has been reliable, easy, and hassle‑free. Definitely recommend!
