I come from a financial, compliance and regulatory background where data manipulation, automation and process design are core principles of my work.

Although I have extensively used Excel and SQL platforms for decades, I wanted to revisit the fundamentals of data analysis rather than rely on experience alone.

The course provided a structured understanding of the complete data lifecycle, from collection and cleaning through to transformation, analysis, visualisation and presentation.

It also reinforced the importance of data security, GDPR compliance, and ethical handling of information throughout that process.

Despite my professional background, I found returning to the core principles invaluable. It highlighted areas that are often taken for granted in day-to-day work and provided a common framework for approaching data projects.

The group discussions with other learners also invited different perspectives and practical insights that added depth to the learning experience.

The Excel training was particularly well delivered, with content that was accessible to learners of all ages and experience levels while still providing useful refreshers for those with established skills.

The introduction to Power BI and data visualisation also demonstrated how effective presentation is just as important as accurate analysis.

The tutors were approachable and supportive, making themselves available for one-to-one discussions whenever additional guidance was needed.

Overall, the course has strengthened my understanding of the data analysis process from end to end.

Further, it has reinforced the value that you are never too experienced to revisit the basics, regardless of previous qualifications and background.

I have just completed the level 2 Data Analysis course with Michael and Jayla. I found this course to be very informative and covered a range of materials.
