First, it’s important to note that online valuations are not promises or firm offers. Our website disclaimers state the online valuation is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a firm offer from webuyanycar.com to purchase your vehicle. Any reputable buyer will need to perform a physical appraisal of the vehicle first before they can make a firm offer and We Buy Any Car is no different.

Regarding your specific online valuation for the 2007 Honda CR-V, our records indicate the online valuation was completed back in April, over 3 months ago. We use current market data to price cars and 3 months is a lifetime when trying to calculate a vehicle’s resale value. The market can shift dramatically over that time, and we would always advise customers to get an up-to-date valuation before booking an appointment.

Additionally, during the online valuation the vehicle was reported to have no damage with 150,000 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately, once we had an opportunity to inspect the vehicle we discovered the vehicle actually had 176,713 miles, a difference of over 26,000 miles. Our vehicle buyer also noted a variety of damage which we were previously unaware of including rust, upper engine noise, and structural damage from excess damage to the vehicle’s B-pillar. This is outside the scope of normal wear and tear, and we had to take this new information into consideration when making our firm offer.

Hopefully you were invited to join us as we inspected the vehicle so you can see what we see, it’s all part of our commitment to transparency.
