More Support/ Secondary Market

It is offering the opportunity for non-accredited investors to buy into startups. However, more support is needed: 1. updates are not sent to investors e-mail accounts usually so updates are often missed. 2. Investors are not always notified of the failure or functionality status of an investment. This is important for tax purposes. 3. WeFunder has no secondary market so investors can trade and sell investments 4. The system is flawed. Some old investments don't show up. The system seems stuck at a certain amount of investments.

Thank you for your feedback. Founders have the option of emailing their investors when they make an update, so unfortunately, this is out of Wefunder's control. However, if you make it a habit to log on every so often, you can always check your notifications at the top right of the screen to see what is new since your last visit.

We are making great progress in addressing your second concern. In 2023, our team is aiming to ensure that all companies submit updates every quarter, preferably, but at least twice a year. Additionally, we are working on making our portfolio more dynamic to display these types of updates. This project has taken much longer than we first anticipated, but we are making good progress. In the meantime, we are beginning to post the dissolution paperwork for companies that fail to provide these documents to us. Unfortunately, many companies that fail stop responding to everyone, and this is out of our control.

It's important to note that Regulation CF does not currently have a secondary market - not just on Wefunder. However, this may change in the future. Stay tuned.

Great opportunity

This has been a great experience, it is easy to get set up and get the compaign going. Other crowdfunding platforms, require you to summit an email and wait for a response, that never happens. They helped malus.com get to the next level. With great great response times and knowledgeable customer service representatives.

Withdrawing balance problem, poor customer service

I had a balance in my wefunder account that I was trying to wire back into my bank account. Wefunder themselves did the bank transfer for me on Jan 30th, it is now March 14th and I havent received the funds into my bank account. I emailed many times and have only got a response a few times. After a long wait they replied to me and said we were having issues with many customers with the same problem and to bear with them while they fix it. I waited, then waited some more. They returned to me after yet more emails I had to send and said they would have returned in 5-10 business days. This did not happen. I again sent emails with no responses, after a long time they got back to me and said the bank rejected the payment and they said they would look into it. Again I am waiting with no update or response. I will update this review if I ever get my money back into my account. My advice is not to use Wefunder, in the future I will use other pre ipo investment websites.

As you know, I've also sent you an email. I just talked to the payments team and informed you that we found the bounced wire and are covering the bounce charge that the bank gave. However, we cannot proceed with your refund until we have the correct information. The original SWIFT code you provided us was incorrect. I looked up online your bank's swift code using the bank address you gave us and you will see this in the email. My payments team is saying that we need numbers in place of those XXX's that you see in the code. Can you please confirm this with your bank? This is what is stopping the wire from going through.

I know you are super annoyed with the situation and I totally get it. I apologize for that - I really do. I promise that I want to get you taken care of. This isn't fun for us to go back and forth either. Once you have confirmation from your bank (talking to someone at the bank), please let me know what they say and we will proceed and try again.

Hard to contact a person on the Investment Team

Wire instructions were clear and I have sent wire funds before for an investment in 2022, but this time I did not receive an email verifying the wire was received, even with a confirmation from my bank.
I tried numerous times via email, to contact someone because there is nothing on the website other than FAQ’s no phone numbers, my investment will expire within 1 day if no one responds. Oh well

Wefunder did absolutely nothing to drive success

Wefunder did absolutely next to zero to support our fundraise. 96% of all funds were driven by the founding team. Wefunder promised that they’d do 30-35% of the fundraise. This message was in their briefs, emails by their account managers, they even told us how to achieve the milestones. We did each and every one of those things and still nothing. Wefunder pretty much didn’t do anything at all.

The platform is extremely glitchy as well. We found bugs and reported them that they didn't even know about (reply's to questions didn't go to the person who submitted them). I will say they did fix the issue reported within 3 weeks.

In addition, so many users couldn’t process payment, couldn't submit thier ID's and many more glitches. As a founder, I spent an inordiante amount of time managing through the experience with users.

For us, we had HIGH hopes. We drove thousands to the site for traffic and Wefunder drove nearly nothing. Their email blasts converted just a few users with less than $500 checks.

What Wefunder wants you to do is bring them the investors so they can charge the investor 8% of the fee to invest. We totally got the 7.5% fee charged to us. They filed all paperwork for the RegCF and handled that and we believe it was fair to recoup costs of all the legal efforts.

Overall it was a bad experience using Wefunder with 90% of the weight being Wefunder didn’t do its part to drive funding.

Overall we raised $230K in funding via 96% driven by our efforts.

We apologize if your expectations were not met. All raises have variability in terms of what they receive from the Wefunder community. However, you are still in the midst of a successful Wefunder raise, and we wish you the best in continuing to build your business.

Regarding the bugs you encountered, they can happen. As a startup, we are happy to take care of them. Some of the issues you experienced were due to our expansion to the EU last month, which caused a few things to break. Nevertheless, those issues were easy to fix. I see that each time you reached out, we responded promptly to ensure that you were taken care of.

Also, to be clear, we don't charge 8% fees to investors. For payments made by bank ACH, wires, or checks, Wefunder charges investors a transaction fee of 2%, with a minimum of $8 and a maximum of $100. For credit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, Wefunder charges a 5% fee with a minimum of $8 and no maximum fee cap.

Furthermore, if you bring investors to Wefunder, they will get their first investment fee-free if they pay by ACH or wire.

We're sorry that we haven't met your expectations, but we still wish you a successful raise.
