Wheels Up’s membership is a masterclass in how to monetize disappointment. There are no real savings, no meaningful perks, and no advantage that justifies the upfront cost. You’re essentially paying thousands of dollars for the illusion of priority.
Flights are inconsistent, pricing is unpredictable, and the “benefits” disappear the moment you compare them to pay-as-you-go options or competitors without a membership fee. Communication is weak, accountability is minimal, and customer service feels trained to deflect rather than solve problems.
The sales pitch is polished. The execution is sloppy. The value proposition collapses under even basic scrutiny.
DO NOT BUY THE MEMBERSHIP. If you insist on using Wheels Up, pay per flight and keep your flexibility — and your money. This is not a premium service. It’s a premium-priced mistake.
Once again they have screwed up our trip. So often they get it wrong. Wheels up really does suck.
Member for 4 years plunking down $100k twice. First $100k great service. Second $100k virtually no service with last 4 bookings with no plane showing so had to cancel. Customer service is non existent or not customer friendly, with high employee turnover. Probably heading to bankruptcy shortly so avoid unless you enjoy pain.
Avoid like the plague. Never on time. Horrible customer service. Overcharged multiple times. We made the enormous mistake of signing up for a block of travel and were committed to multiple flights. We booked a dozen flights and all but two had enormous delays. Despite being told we would always get 24 hours notice for a delay there were multiple times when we were not told of delays until we were already at the airport. Customer service was impossible to reach and frequently rude. We were once told we should be grateful for getting to fly the same day as our original booking. Hopefully netjets will be better. I'd prefer to walk than use Wheelsup again.
