CT scan for our dog, we carefully reviewed our policy and contacted Whistle and Wag directly to confirm that the procedure would be covered. We were reassured that it was.
Despite this, our claim was later refused on the basis that the issue was supposedly âdental,â something that was only raised after the fact. This left us blindsided and stuck with a significant bill we never would have agreed to without prior confirmation of coverage.
The lack of clarity, inconsistency in advice, and complete disregard for the position this put us in made us feel poorly treated and misled. Overall, a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience

I have been with Whistle and Wag for a few years and can't recommend them enough. We have had to claim a few times for terminal illness and for accidents. They are reasonably priced, especially with elderly animals. The coverage is great and there are options of different levels. Communication is very clear with quick responses. The portal online makes claiming very straight forward and any claim I have made has been processed fairly quickly within a few days. I recommend Whistle and Wag to everyone I know who has pets! Even my vet has said they are fantastic to work with!

The worst pet insurer
I was with Pet Plan and I was very happy with them, but had to change to a cheaper insurer as the monthly cost had gone up and it was too much for me to afford. I switched to this pet insurer and this was the biggest mistake I have ever made. They have disputed both my claims and seem to look for loop holes to not pay out. I am strongly of the opinion that they coerced my vets into agreeing that stress cystitis is behavioural (On the first claim), where there are many different opinions online and most agree that there is also a physical element, which they completely ignored. I would strongly advise you against using this insurer.
Update: I contacted Whistle and Wagg after they requested I contact them in relation to this post. They basically said their decision still stands. What a waste of time.
