I think one star is to much, I wish they a lower one. I rented a car from Advantage threw Expedia. Rented it a Ft. Lauderdale airport its off the airport.Rented it on March 20 and returned it on March 28 I was told I had to leave a 250 dollar deposit and was told i had to wait 30 business day to get my deposit back, well I got it back On May 16 that made 36 day and had to get my credit company involved and that was the only way i got my money back

If i could leave a review without a star i would. Horrible customer service, no one returns your calls and they treat you like your the criminal when filing a claim. Stupid questions and they take months of you having to call and call to get an answer. Paid full coverage for 3yrs just for them to deny the claim after they let go of the adjuster. Extremely unprofessional company.

Actually even 1 star, I don’t want to give anything.
I reserved Dec 28 2025, and confirmation was received.
And just yesterday, I received email for cancellation.
I called to company for cancellation.
I paid by credit card and papers.
You know what the reason cancellation?
I reserved too cheap price.
Of course !
I reserved Dec 28 2025 for Sep 15 2026.
And now they cancelled my schedule.
OMG !!!

I applied and was denied for the AAA Advantage Visa for the following reasons: no revolving accounts, no mortgage, no open accounts and number of inquiries!
I owe nobody! We bought and paid for four homes! In 30 years I
applied for 2 credit cards, one being this one! I have a credit score
of 737! They didn't check!

I have AAA insurance on my home, vehicles and have been AAA member for 20 years! So, if I was denied, would anyone be approved! This is detrimental to my insurance agent! I will continue with the membership and insurance but am extremely disgusted with their decision!

HUGE SCAM. First, they're not at the airport they're off-site and it was super stressful to figure out which shuttle to get there. It turns out the place is just a garage with NO EMPLOYEES on site! You have to wait about an hour to step into a booth and get on a video chat with a VERY RUDE person. Everyone who came out of that booth before me was ANGRY and DISGUSTED. They make you scan your insurance policy and then lie about required coverages and try to charge all sorts of extra fees. Do not do business with this company.

expedia rental with ADVANTAGE IN TAMPA
i booked a rental car through EXPEDIA.COM the receipt and quote was for 51.51 total. i get to ADVANTAGE RENTAL IN TAMPA FL. 272.00 and another 500.00 deposit. i dont have 772.00 on my credit cards??? thats the reason i tried to find a cheap service through expedia. the rental place had 10 different little rental places associated with it never heard of any of them all scams. i was 1 of 15 people complaining about what was happening. everyone was getting scammed. theres nothing you can do. they say you have to use their insurance which is a ton of money unless you have the declaration page of your personal car insurance. then if you provide that, they charge you for not using their insurance so they get you either way.
THen they bring out a car that is scratched and dinged has at least 2 chips in the windshield you know they will blame me for something to keep the 500.00 deposit. the entire process was awful. i contacted expedia they are like its a 3rd party service we have no control. then what exactly do you do?

I would give it zero stars! Never would I recommend this place. You have 1 hour from the time you made your reservation for pick up to get your car, but the line is so long you miss your reservation time slot. They don’t care either. Such a scam. We were in line over an hour with people before us and after that that were sent away because there 1 hour expired. They should not be in business!!!!!

If you book they say that tolls will be charged to you later which sounds convenient. What they leave out is that there is an approximate £20-25 ADMIN FEE for every toll charge - the toll charge could be $1 !!!

The worst company,in my entire life any company try to charge me $3000 just for deposit it’s crazy!! I lost my time

I rented car via booking.com web site from Advantage rental car from Florida ( 7652 Narcoossee Rd, Orlando International Airport, 32822), I supposed to pay US $ 62.98 +  Toll fee ( Pre paid SunPass fee of 15.99 per day ). I was forced to buy Third Party Liability Insurance from rental company even after I told them my personal Car Insurance from Canada will cover Collision and Third Party Liability Insurance. I called and confirmed with the current Car Insurance provider, they will cover any third party liability insurance in Florida ,USA .

Car I received was old and have done more 43000 miles and got lots of stain everywhere on the seat and side walls. Nature of the stain was very odd and for hygienic reason my family was not comfortable using the car. I contacted Advantage Car and complaint and asked them to rectify the issue which they refused
Please see attached photos of the satin and communication to Advantage and Booking.com, I ended up paying total of $324.52 including $111.72 + Tax for liability insurance. I couldn't use the car for my needs due to hygienic condition of this car and ended up using another car during my trip
My experience with this rental was very bad.

And the worse thing is , Advantage customer car is useless and bias. Not willing accept the mistake and correct

Please stay away, it's a SCAM. I will be reporting this to Florida Tourism Board

I rented a car through Priceline.com with a company called Advantage rental car. The car was located in Orlando, Florida My priceline booking total (including taxes and fees) was $156.16 to be paid at pickup.
When I went to pick up the car the price was $335. The first thing the agent (Pedro) told me was that even if I wanted to pay tolls via cash, they would still charge me $25/day or $90 for the week, plus tax. This was never disclosed and seems like predatory charges. I agreed to pay it because it was late and I just wanted my car. When I declined extra insurance he told me he needed a $1000 deposit on my card. I provided my card for this. Then he told me the total would be $335. When I questioned him about the amount $150 plus $100 equals $250 not $335 he said there were other taxes and fees. I showed him my receipt from Priceline showing taxes and fees were paid and asked to see the itemization and he refused.
I said to my friend who was standing with me, that I'd just take the car and dispute the extra charges later. When Pedro heard this, he said that if I was going to dispute the extra charges later, he would not rent the car to me. I restated that I agreed to the price of $250 but not the completely made up price of $335. He then said, "Fine, I'm cancelling your car." Which he did.
We had to take a 45 minute Lyft to get to our destination and then rented another car elsewhere. Advantage used my card (which I had given for the $1,000 deposit and charged me for the $335 rental). I have asked Priceline to reach out to get this refunded and they are so far unsuccessful. It is not possible to speak with someone at Advantage other than the local office where the fraud took place.

I have booked car for 7 days from 7th Jul to14th Jul 2025.

The service was totally shocking as no one was picking the phone and some one at the airport parking informed that the advantage is out of business and some new buyer is now running it. Even the bus stops, call center numbers etc. in online booking are old and advantage has not taken pain to revise it.

Now coming to my specific issues, I have informed over the counter that usd 21 were charged extra as my booking with Expedia was for 84 usd and I was charged 105 usd in receipt. I was promised that the same will be released in 2 to 3 working days.

However, till date I have not received any refund and even Advantage is not replying to my emails.
No refund till date... 100% cheating

Stay as far away from this company as you can. They operate using shady business practices. They basically force you to buy insurance coverage through them if you don’t have at least $500k in insurance coverage under your own policy, which most people do not. Then they required a $1000 deposit which they said would be returned in 7-15 business days. First of all, the deposit should have been a hold on my credit card, not as a charge to it. 20 business days later and I still haven’t received my deposit back, so I’ve filed a dispute with my credit card company. I will get my deposit back one way or another. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!’n

Scam ! Scam ! Scam ! These guys are completely scam. They are going to lie to you about the insurance and charge extra without telling you. You are not going to get your security deposit back. So be careful with this rental car company or you are going to loose money.

I rented from Advantage thru Expedia. The price was good, there was an option to get a car rental insurance thru Expedia too.
When I arrived to FLL to pick up my car, I waited for 1 hour at the desk. Then they said they don't honor the third party insurance, they mandate people to buy their liability insurance (which wasn't specified during booking time).
And finally - the Expedia price wasn't right, according to them! They wanted me to pay additional $500 .
Had to cancel the whole story and complained to Expedia

I rented the car for a week from March 2 to March 7, the lady who made me the contract was good, the only bad thing was the dirty car, but I took it to the gas station Across the street pay $5 dollar .

horrible, Advantage car rental a 0 rating; terrible and rude agents, road car assistant no response, charges that were on agreement that were poorly explained. Will never rent another vehicle from Advantage Car Rental anywhere

I'd give them a score of Zero if I could! After I returned the car they added "mandatory" overcharges for unwanted and unnecessary Emergency Road Service and Toll fees. When I disputed these undesired overcharges hey said that these are "mandatory" add-ons in addition to the original price that was quoted but did not include them! And this was regardless whether I had a SunPass (which I did) or have other emergency road service coverage already in place (which I did both via my credit card and via AAA). So, their original quoted price of $103 for my 4-day smallest car rental went from $84.96 originally to $187.96 after I returned the car. This is a "mandatory" upcharge of 82%, almost DOUBLE their original quote.
After this dispute with them, I checked online and there are many similar complaints for significant overcharges by Advantage in Orlando to customers. In fact, BBB gives them a rating of F and the average of their customer reviews on BBB is 1.09 out of 5!

Advantage Rent a Car is an absolute SCAM business...not even an American company. They only get reservations by quoting super low rate rentals online and when you show up the price triples. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT fall for this scam like i did. Advantage rental a car has gone bankrupt 3 times and are now owned by a Canadian Fund manager that doesn't give a flying puck about its customers. Lie, Cheat, Steal business model out of desperation. Their building in Vegas feels like you are in communist Cuba and you will be treated likewise. Walk across the street to the actual rental car terminal and deal with a professional company that wont steal your hard earned $.

I had a receipt for my rental for $63.84 total charges from Car Rental Savers. I declined any insurance charges as I have my own insurance. Rental agent then tried to charge me over $400.00! I objected and then she lowered the charge a little bit. After much distress and showing the receipt to her, she again acted like she was doing me a favor and lowered the charge a little bit more. I was tired, frustrated and angry with such horrible treatment by such a "con". I showed my insurance declaration page from my insurance company, receipt from Car Rental Savers. She wore me down. I finally gave up. Was then charged $169.15. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a car rental agency. I should be refunded the over charge of $105.31 at the least.
