Following our recent financial audit (Apr26) by Albert Goodman, we have no hesitation in commending the audit team of Emily Armstrong, George Mullin and Tom Hallett.
From the very start, the audit was undertaken in a well planned and structured way, plus the audit team presented themselves in a very polite and courteous manner.
In addition, the audit team demonstrated a great degree of professionalism and knowledge.
I can thoroughly recommend the Albert Goodman audit department, excellent all-round!

Unprofessional service.

Agreed to transfer VAT from self-employment to LTD company on set date, failed to do this and failed respond to correspondence once this date was near leaving us in limbo.

Engagement letter sent to LTD company 1 year after initial engagement. Engagement partner was not a member of the ICAEW at the time of engagement in 2021 only became a member 2023.

Failed to submit signed directors share agreement documents – notified 5 months later. Documents sent in November. (even tried to charge LTD company for this ‘service’.

Submitted our first LTD company VAT return with many errors.

Ignored final tax calculations including revenue totals.

Forgot to transfer Van from self employment to LTD, had to be reminded and amend final accounts.

Gave Xero ‘Training’ with incorrect information provided leading too many errors on the LTD company accounts.

Senior accountant generally rude and unhelpful in final meeting.

Filed directors P60 with incorrect Salary and employment address, many weeks after a formal complaint had been made.

Been a long standing customer of Albert Goodman they were spot on and had no issues and charged a good sencible rate, But after covid the company customer care and charging have become frankly shocking. Cost me a fine with HMRC and tried to bill me for the late tax return, after advising I didn't need to do one. then have charged name nearly £500 for making an inquiry with HMRC. be warned they will not bw upfront about there costs.

My small company was with this firm for 23 years. Its service became very “ last minute”. There was no contact in the year to make helpful suggestions. Finally despite the hopelessness of its service and my suggestion that my account was moved to someone else they terminated my account leaving me in the lurch. Not interested or understanding of the problems of a small business. Hopeless service. Accounts were patient there and deserve praise but the service and advice provided was minimalist as well as being unsympathetic and not at all pro-active.
