This building is a wolf in sheep's clothing. I've lived here for 8 years and despite my dozens of requests to fix the conditions, they persist. I've endured bug infestations, rotting wooden floors, pests, leaking refrigerator, broken microwave, mold, broken tiles, holes in the walls, my poor dog now has a seizure disorder due to all the pesticides that have been sprayed and the infestations will never stop until they will actually fix the floor- which they won't do since I'm classified under the affordable housing unit. I've lived with broken windows which were finally recently fixed while I was away and the maintenance worker left them wide open so that when I returned there was an additional bug infestation in my bedroom. Today the maintenance manager fixed three broken tiles and left my refrigerator in the middle of the kitchen so that I could no longer cook or access my fridge. When I showed him a video of the bug infestation behind the fridge he just shrugged and said "well I fixed the broken tiles". When I told him about the rampant infestation throughout the apartment due to the rotting wooden floors with holes and slits he said "well avalon doesn't make these floors anymore so it's hard to fix". I wish this wasn't reality but in fact it is and truly hazardous conditions to suffer and shameful of management. I won't even get into having my clothing stolen from the dryers or waiting for elevators usually 10-15 minutes. The latter would be tolerable if only I had a habitable apartment. Please save your money and health, steer clear from this building.

As a prospective tenant, there are several important considerations to be aware of regarding AvalonBay. Firstly, beware of the fine print. To terminate our lease early, there was an "Early Termination Charge." We were informed that even with a 30-day notice, breaking our lease would cost $15,000.

Several other factors that contribute to my overall recommendation against AvalonBay:

Exorbitant rental prices: Numerous tenants have chosen to depart due to excessively high rent escalations. The number of vacant units further underscores this issue.

Dilapidated condition of the buildings: The buildings exhibit signs of deterioration, exemplified in my building by recurring boiler failures that deprive tenants of hot water for extended periods. Furthermore, the landlord's refusal to address this matter, alongside the presence of soiled carpets, stairs, and other areas marked with pet stains, and substandard, non-functional appliances and amenities, further contribute to our building's unsatisfactory state.

Absolutely the most irresponsible, illogical company I have had the displeasure of working with in a long time. Beware of the sneaky tactics they use to terrorize and intimidate you.

Here’s the story:
We pay online every single month for our apartment at Avalon Piscataway. We select “pay all.” We pay. WITHOUT WARNING a terrifying letter shows up in our email that we haven’t paid water and sewer so a letter comes certified mail from a lawyers office Griffin Alexander who apparently is in the excellent and responsible business of doing business with Avalon Piscataway who can’t even be responsible enough to send a reminder that the payment might be overdue. Again, we pay on time every single month and click pay all.

I can’t wait to complain to corporate, report their terrible law firm to the NJ board and move out. Oh, and because you are treated like a criminal, you have to contact the responsible attorney firm, Griffey Alexander because they won’t speak with you. This is an unethical and immoral business practice. The trash will knock you over as well as the dog feces everywhere. I’m wondering if the good reviews are from the employees pressured to build this place up. Cheap construction, fire alarms going off in the middle of the night for two hours minimum, parking lots not plowed and I was going to keep quiet about all of this until I got their will you marry me letter in the mail. With the nerve to charge me a $225 fee to not even send a courtesy email that there might be a problem. Find a different place. For me. I care about you.

Worse company ever!! With them 3 years to long! Work u like a dog and get a 24 cent raise a year!! Terds of the earth!!! Stay away
