AvidWorks Technology, Will Gates and Lorena, are the rare professional service organization. Expert, responsive, kind, prompt, affordable solutions for in home and in business technology solutions. I used them to install a Ring home security system. They went above and beyond their scope of services to install, set up, trouble shoot and design the system, from recommended components to technical solutions required for the installation. You cannot find a better team. I give them the highest possible rating.

I recently completed a very large remodel of my home, which took 14 months with lots of Covid-related delays. Avidworks installed a Nest security system including a doorbell, 4 indoor cameras, 4 outdoor cameras, 2 Yale Nest door locks, a Nest Guard with motion detectors and 8 smoke detectors. From the first meeting with Lorena and Will to the final execution of our plan, it took 15 months, and they were absolutely fantastic the whole way through. Lorena could not be more communicative, friendly, and detail-oriented. Every question I had was researched and thoughtfully explained. The installation took 2 days, and Will spent a good deal of time and effort finding the most aesthetically pleasing way to mount everything. The thing I most appreciated about working with both of them is how well they listened. I had very specific and slightly different objectives than most people, and they listened to my concerns and helped me brainstorm solutions. When I decided not to install one piece of equipment that Lorena had spent a good amount of time researching, I told her I wanted to pay her for her time, since my decision had nothing to do with the work she had done, and it seemed fair to compensate her. She refused my offer and told me she would only accept payment when a piece of equipment was actually installed. Exceedingly gracious and a sign of just how ethical and motivated they are to make their customers happy. A word about cost - there's a good amount of time spent planning, researching and advising on a system compared to the actual time spent installing. I felt their quote was straightforward and completely reasonable, and it captured the real cost of the work it takes to deliver an installation that will make a customer happy. I would rather pay a bit more to get a well-thought out system by people who care about the details. And their system ended up being far less and easier to manage than the security system companies I had out to quote i.e. Bay Alarm.

I had an excellent experience with AvidWorks, both with Lorena with customer support and Will with installation. AvidWorks installed several smart-home products, and Lorena and Will were very efficient, enthusiastic, professional, and thorough in explaining not only how each product works, but further possibilities in integrating my home system. As a result, I'm having AvidWorks back out to install additional products and put my entire home on one system. Highly recommended.

I had been in search of a Smart Deadbolt lock to have installed on the garage entry door for my residence. I had used AvidWorks for a number of my smart home installations projects and since they are a leader in the Sf/Bay Area in smart technology. I also asked for their expertise in recommending a Smart deadbolt lock to fulfill the requirements I was looking for in this type of lock. The Yale brand was one they recommended and I selected the Yale Assure Interconnected Lockset YRC 226 with Z-Wave Plus.

A lock of this quality is not one you can find and purchase at your local retail outlets. This Yale lock had to be factory ordered with delivery time of 6 to 8 weeks. When the lock arrived, an appointment was set up by the AvidWorks team and Will Gates installed and programmed the Yale YCR 226 Z-Wave lock along with a 3rd generation Samsung SmartThings Hub that they recommended for automation of the lock. The installation of the lock was immaculate and the lock works flawlessly.

The lock meets all of my automation requirements such as having complete control of the lock with my mobile devices anywhere in the world as far as locking and unlocking the deadbolt, touchscreen keypad with key override, complete tracking information on my mobile devices of opening and closing, and automatic locking if you leave home and forget to lock the door.

My thoughts on this lock are that it is well constructed, beautifully designed with a quality finish, and it is simple to use which is exactly what I was hoping to get in a Smart deadbolt lock.

This is the 3rd time I've had AvidWorks Technology. I've had AvidWorks come out and install a Rachio sprinkler system, a Yale/Nest lock system and then another two Yale/Nest locks. Will and Lorena were awesome; friendly, polite and really helpful. They removed the old systems, installed the new ones, set up the apps, made sure the systems were up and running smoothly and then walked me through the process.

Will is very knowledgeable about the various home automation products out there.

Lorena did all the initial interactions, set up the appointments and then did the software set up for the Rachio. Very professional.

I would highly recommend AvidWorks for any home automation project you may have in mind. I would definitely use their services again.

Will and Lorena are the BEST! We moved into a large home with lots of smoke detectors and thermostats, and also decided to install a security system. I loved their initial consultation, which included looking at the (somewhat dated) wiring in our home to determine compatibility. We also talked through all the options around smart doorbell, outside cameras, and different Nest thermostat models. We couldn't be happier with the results! We feel extra secure with all the suggestions they had about our security system, they took the time to uninstall all the hardware from the previous owners, and they took such extra, professional care with the install (including lovely touches like silicone insulating the holes for security cameras to prevent water leaks). And Lorena and Will are such nice people and a pleasure to work with. They made it super easy to work with them and they are so professional with great judgement. Will be recommending them to all our friends; in the meantime, do yourself a favor and hire them!

Lorena and Will were absolutely fantastic to work with. They were super professional, friendly, on-time, and responsive. Scheduling an appointment was very easy and smooth. When Will came on site, we realized that we might have difficulty drilling through the tiles behind where the Nest Hello would be mounted. Rather than just throwing caution to the wind and going for it, Will was super meticulous about doing it right. We tested a drill bit against an extra piece of tile I had on hand, and it didn't go through. Will then took the spare piece of tile with him, went and found/bought some drill bits that would work, came back a couple of days later and did a fantastic, clean installation. He absolutely takes pride in the quality of his work, and it clearly shows. I would recommend Will and Lorena from AvidWorks to everyone, and would certainly go back to them for any future Nest needs.

Professional, neat, clean, punctual, can’t say enough. The cameras installed all exceptional and professional install. All my new switches install look like they were part of the house since it was built. After everything was installed the tech took the time to explain how everything works, how to manage the products with the apps, paired it with my Alexa and explained how to give it commands for the switches. William didn’t just install our products, he made it a pleasant, learning experience. There should be more techs like him.
