Dealt with the Guildford office who were appalling! Initially advised products in stock £2000 worth of fence panels), and delivery date confirmed.. After three consecutive failed deliveries they admitted it was never in stock. Was lied to and laughed at over the phone. In the end the area manager of Lawsons phoned to apologise and refunded the order in full. Admitted they had issues with the Guildford office, however too little too late. Ordered elsewhere and received it next day. Garbage don’t waste your time!

I was an online retail customer, unlike the majority of AVS customers, I expect. I ordered the wood I wanted online, and went to collect it early one morning by car. The AVS yard at Guildford was busy fork-lift and lorries, but I found a space to park, went to customer services and was soon taken to the wood area to pick the wood and take it to the car. A quick and good visit.

Very good quality of all products. The staff at the Guildford branch were very helpful especially Freddie whose advice was so valuable.

Bought some palisades to make a fence. All good quality, no issues with splits in the wood or large imperfections.

Chaps at the depot were friendly and helpful, gave me a hand loading the car. Would happily use again in the future.

Click and Collect. Ordered exactly what I wanted easily and then collected just as easily.

Order came on time and the Delivery Driver was spot on.

Easy to use website with stock checker to make sure that what you want is in stock. Staff are friendly polite and don’t keep you waiting around.

Ordered my garden fence supplies and requested delivery. Unfortunately I couldn’t be at the delivery address when the delivery was due. Elderly friend of mine. Spoke to the driver Kev who said ‘no problem I will unload and put it round the back in the garden’. Friendly, couldn’t have been more accommodating. Great co to buy from and great driver Kev👍Will recommend to anyone needing fence supplies.

The wood I ordered is fine. Exactly as I expected.
However, the delivery was not. This is the third order I have had recently and not as good as previously. The first two were fine with an email to advise which day they would deliver and a call from the driver 20 minutes beforehand.
However, this time I had neither. The first I knew was when the driver had already unloaded by my front door, which was not where I wanted it, nor where the previous (different) drivers had unloaded. The driver ( who was new in the job) checked with his depot and then picked up the load and moved it to the correct location. So it ended OK. But all that hassle would have been avoided if the depot had emailed me to confirm which day they were arriving and then the driver phones me a bit in advance.
Hopefully my next delivery will be perfect.

New fence looks great. Closeboard panels and concrete posts and gravel boards all delivered on time. Helpful delivery driver too.

Delivery was prompt, and product is exactly as expected.

Communication was atrocious, with staff not bothered by the impact their delays had on other trades. Having placed an order online, I received a call confirming delivery of goods on a Wednesday. The day before, I phoned to confirm delivery and was told it would be delivered, but to ring in the morning to check times. The next day, when I phoned, I was put through to the transport manager who said goods would be shipped on Thursday after the London delivery. When I rang at 2pm on Thursday I was advised that the goods had just been loaded and I was the 5th delivery. Nothing arrived that day. On Friday no one could advise why the goods hadn’t been delivered, and didn’t seem to care. Having been promised a call back immediately by the transport manager, I waited over an hour. I phoned back and cancelled the order. I placed same order with a local supplier who delivered promptly.

I will not be using AVS again.
