I Invested a Good Bit of Time In Betabound, Betabound Paid No Interest
Betabound. I've been a member for 18 months. I closed my account today. I intended to last month. I, instead sent an email to state my disheartenment after my contributing the completion of dozens of time-extensive opportunity profiles which spanned 18 months and to having never been granted not even one opportunity at product testing. What resulted was a congratulations. I had been accepted into, what seemed to me, a fascinating quality electronics manufacturer's productâto beta test a mesh Wi-Fi system. I was in awe (ikr?)I thought it was fate (plus my email?) that I was chosen. StarLink, Elon Musk's low orbit satellite internet dish and components would be arriving the same week as my residence locale had been chosen for StarLink beta . January saw the opening of my remodeling & smart device workshop/storefront on my rural residential property. The mesh beta would be great fun given the status of events, and I would imagine it would serve as unique opportunity for the big name brand, Betabound's client, to be presented quantitative metrics for its mesh system in a rural environment to just the 3rd place on Earth set to beta StarLink (it is an amazing serviceâoutstanding upgrade, bravo). The Friday before the mesh WiFi beta was to begin, I received an email from the program lead at Betabound that I'd been relegated to backup. I responded no thank you as my planning toward testing had been invested, that I operate a business with strong demand, and could hardly carry "backup tester email checker" with my schedule. It's difficult to say, but I sincerely felt disappointed. I mean, 18 months is a substantial investment. I have two children, own a home, a business, vehicles, and my home is a smart device-loving nerd's oasis of DNS, DHCP, NAT tabled, MAC filtering, IP allocating geekdom. That's something to contribute. Eighteen months. Betabound apparently does not track metrics. I am unsure. What I am sure of is Betabound did not consider my term on its platform commendable with even one opportunity to act as a tester; thus, my opinion was also null and void. That's my Betabound experience. I've used > than 1500 apps and platforms since 1995. I have beta tested product ranging from Bixby's "Echo" to Dremel's original multitool to closed beta of Amazon's upcoming mmorpg New World. Betabound awarded no such opportunity.
