Great swim. Pool temperature 27C v comfortable for doing lengths. Love the big windows & lots of natural day light Changing areas and showers clean. Staff friendly and helpful.
Only disappointment is that the shower water temperature fluctuates during use & isn’t really warm enough.

Great Facilities, Poor Member Experience
Better has excellent facilities, an impressive range of classes and clearly strong demand. The infrastructure is a real strength. However, the overall experience increasingly feels over-managed and punitive, with late cancellation penalties, repeated membership checks and systems that are particularly frustrating when connectivity is poor at facilities such as Copthall and Hendon.
More concerning is the lack of genuine engagement on the gym floor. Staff are often conspicuous by their absence, leaving members to their own devices rather than offering meaningful guidance on technique, training or progression. There is also a noticeable perception that younger, more conventionally attractive members receive considerably more attention, whilst members over 30 can feel almost invisible. That is neither professional nor conducive to an inclusive fitness environment.
Better has clearly invested in the physical infrastructure; it now needs to invest equally in the **human infrastructure**. More visible coaching, better member support and a stronger sense of community would transform an excellent set of facilities into a genuinely excellent fitness experience. At present, there seems to be rather more emphasis on policing members than on helping them thrive.

Great swimming lessons
Participating in my first swimming lessons has been a truly wonderful experience. The staff members demonstrate exceptional professionalism and expertise throughout every interaction. I am particularly grateful for the helpful guidance provided by the team, starting right from the warm welcome at the reception desk. The instructors are incredibly supportive, ensuring that the sessions are both productive and enjoyable. It is a pleasure to be part of such a well-organized and encouraging aquatic program.

Welcoming leisure centre
The leisure centre seems to be well organised and has a wide selection of keep fit classes. The swimming pools are at a good temperature and the changing areas are clean.
Booking the popular classes is a bit of a scramble.

I've done three Yoga Basics and two…
I've done three Yoga Basics and two Pilates Basics classes so far and been very happy with the instructors leading the class. The booking system is easy given a bit of time to understand how it works. The staff at Copthall reception are very helpful.

Thoroughly enjoyed aqua aerobic classes with Gideon at Copthall Leisure Center. It has been a fun experience.
Spoke to Clare at customer service to freeze my membership due to health reasons. She was wonderful and was able to deal with it right away. Very satisfied with my whole experience with BETTER

The centre is in a good location with parking available. Facilities are clean and well equipped. I have a membership which includes free fitness classes which is great. Only problem that I had was with the waiting list system for classes. They send an email when there's a place available, you then have to go and try to book again rather than being allocated a place automatically.

It was my first time learning how to swim, and I can say that with the help of my coach, I was able to conquer my fear and enjoy my first lesson.
